  • We went on an adventure with the wagon, the goal was to see how well it would drive up the highest road in north america. What will be the outcome of this trip, will it run out of steam before the top?

My dad bought a 300TD wagon new in 85. Very much like this one, but in sky blue. That thing was a tank. I rode a ton of miles in rear facing seat. My mom wouldn't let it go - drove it into the ground. Now I have an e350 wagon with the rear facing seat for my kids.

    Amazing car,
    I had w123 300D in 2007,
I remember the smell of this car today. There is no doubt, these cars have soul.
    Greetings from Poland.

Love your videos with the w123.
In Italy we call him ''Gattone'', that is ''the big cat'' 😀.
I think this is the best car ever built by mankind, especially the diesel versions.

Sir Climbo! Love your content. Gaining such altitude might be a slightly slower experience in my 1979 S123 300D - which comes with almost the identical color scheme as yours.
I registered for the next rally, to start in two weeks time: Northern Germany to Southern Morocco - which equals in a one way distance like 2.200miles. The organisers have in plan to only stick to backcountry roads and pistes/gravel roads. Reaching the finish line will be the next achievement for sure.
For 2024 I plan to ship my trusty Daimler to your country's Eastcoast and do a coast-to-coast roadtrip - plus up north to B.C./CAN. Would be a pleasure to meet up at your location where you're at and share experiences.
    Cheers from Hannover, Germany,
    Philipp

Haha... the 2 dots (Umlaut) over the E implies another "e"... so it's actually the "Schnitzel Sleed". :) I'm only giving you a hard time out of jealousy... I think I definitely need 300TD wagon, if I can find a good one. Great video (motivational).

I have basically a coupe clone of your car, down the the color. The utility of the wagons is seriously tempting me to get a wagon instead.

When you said it had 365,000 miles I was shocked. It does not look like a 365,000 mile 300TD.
