Better yet, Asterios could very well be related to General Minos who Argonaut & co faced, fought and defeated before the gods descended to the human realm
I just happened to start DanMachi like 2 days before the most recent episode. Safe to say I binged the whole thing in a single day. I'm hoping we get s4 in 2021, since theres only 1 more episode this season. If not I'll need to be ok with just Shield Hero and Slime 😂

They also mention that when monsters die they reincarnate in the depths of the dungeon. It can take many reincarnations for them but eventually some become intelligent. So after Bell first killed the minotaur (season 1) he then reincarnated with intelligence and from what it looks like trained to get strong. ( im assuming this from the final scene where the xenos say that Asterius left to train..which explains why he was so strong)
Don't worry man. Bell on season 4 is so strong he claps asterius easily. Bell reached levl 10 becoming the strongest adventerur. Yes Bell kills the black eye dragon lazily and became levl 10 the dragon where zeus familia who is levl 8 or 9 struggled and died.

@shawnvogt888 there's multiple variations to spell certain names that change over time. 😑 I have read multiple variations of the story involving Icarus and the Maze, as long as the majority understands what is being implied its fine. Though it may have been that way in the show, I have seen variations of name spelled differently from multiple reliable sources.

He and Ryu took down the juggernaut on the much deeper floor 37 and when he came back to the surface, Hestia said he could already reach level 5 on his very second status update as a level 4 but didn't make him a level 5 yet because everything goes by too fast for him that the gods would steal Bell from Hestia Familia

If I remember correctly, it was Bete's boots that absorbed magic damage from Asterios' magic axe. Bete's magic Hati has only been used twice in the spin offs and is an extremely OP echantment spell but with a very long chant.
Asterius obviously. Besides the Level advantage, there's also the issue of stats. Asterius's main attributes seem to be in Strength and Durability, while Ais is in Speed and Reflexes. However, the difference doesn't seem to be that big, plus because of Asterius's insane level of strength, every blow he launches is an instant death blow if it hits. Plus we saw that Asterius is able to quickly adapt to new opponents as even after losing his arm he was quickly able to put Ais on the defensive and had it continued he would've eventually overwhelmed her.
This scene where Asterius marches up the dungeon to avenge this kindred gave me goose bumps for some reason. Almost disappointed we didn't get to see more of this machine.

We saw Asterius didnt attack to kill but rather incapacitate, however Finn gave the order to kill, so is Asterius been holding back all these time? Thats like a scary level of Power that we've never seen in Danmachi before...
More like loki famillia especially ais had to held back or else she could have killed asterious. Spoiler Her avenger skill is pretty insane that her rage against monsters (especially dragons) have a big impact on her boost, capable of going max level 7 wise despite level 6. Her typical green type wind magic turns to black, Called Raged tempest.
And this is just what has been seen. Imagine the Zeus familia. Their lowest members were level 4 and their captain was level 9. The Zeus familia before they all died had an level 8 adventurer that was so strong he could essentially erase entire cities off of the continent. An adventurer so strong he would and could kill Asterios with just one finger. That's how weak the current familia's are. 15~20 years before the current DanMachi takes place, there were way more powerful adventurers that were alive. Bell is on floor 37 in the anime right now and he is barely alive. Some people in the Zeus familia made it past floor 70.

Q: Lyuu's status hasn't been updated for 5 yrs right? So if she does suddenly get updated like if the Hestia familia would be allowed to accept her as a member, would she be lvl 5 or 6? EDIT: Ryuu just got her stats updated by Astraea and it's lvl 6 baby... Btw it's been 2 years since I left this comment. The new Captain of the Astraea familia
only level 5 but she likely would get really high level 4 stats and get options for a DA and a new skill and/or magic along with more DAs ranking up then we usually see is what I expect for Ryuu leveling up
@@zacwicht3189 yea. its stated that she leveled up at a consistent rate of 1 lvl per 1 1/2 years up to lvl 4 which is about as fast as aiz so her potential is probably similar. that being said she hasnt gone on any adventures since working as a waitress except for the times she helped bell. after the events of season 4 (vol 14 and 15) i think she deserves to jump straight to the peak of lvl 5 if she were to ever get a lvl up.
i'm pretty sure Lyuu CAN'T be Converted unless her Goddess appears from wherever she ran off to after Evilus ambushed and killed all her Familia. as we saw in the anime when Lili Converted from Soma to Hestia, the 'ritual' requires the 1st God (Soma) to release the Familia member by erasing the 1st God's Falna. then the 2nd God (Hestia) writes theirs upon the person. since Lili was only lvl1 to start with in Soma's Familia, i'm uncertain if Conversion allows previously 'saved' Excelia under the 1st Falna to be applied to the 2nd Falna. a Status Update may lock that Excelia down under the 1st Falna and then the 2nd Falna just 'accepts that save point/Status' in the Excelia data file. Aisha is a good example of what happens to an adventurer when their God (Ishtar) gets 'poofed' back to Heaven. Aisha was still strong and everything, so during that 'gap in coverage' ;) Aisha didn't lose any status/strength or whatever. now, under Hermes' Falna Aisha can continue to gain Excelia and suchforth. therefore, even IF Lyuu's Goddess was 'poofed' back to heaven she would still be kickin ass and suchforth. but, i'm uncertain if Lyuu would even be GAINING EXCELIA at all without an Active Falna. remember, the 'common folk' without a Falna don't get diddly for hard work and effort in 'this world'.

@@ericjoel5363 his magic is a long chant that he doesn't typically use of personal reasons but it has no upper limit on the amount of magic it can absorb and would have made him strong enough to defeat Asterious. His boots could only absorb a portion of the attack and left him paralyzed as a result.

Bro was toying with 2 familias and several high level adventurers it's crazy when you think he wasn't even going all out since the adventurers were still alive and the moment he did he wasn't even close to full power since he's literally handicapped tired and injured
Correction on this video: This is the strongest known monster in the anime thus far. Not in the light novels. I will not go into the specifics of the monsters that appear in the next arc but they put the minotaur to shame.

This is not even his final form yet. Remember that asterius starts to become sentient almost the same time as bell become adventurer, he literally born after bell's defeating theminotaur. He is basically a toddler.
Fels: "Durandal weapons exist. So... a weaker metal that can be cut by an easy to get weapon that is reasonable priced that a higher level adventurer could buy it should work fine. One BILLION valis please!" Fels (after golem defeat): "Oh yeah... that thing I said didn't make a god damn bit of sense at all and I just wasted a billion valis. Seeing this video just makes me question the entire believability of the last episode when Bell fights Asterios. I mean at best Bell is a low to mid level 4 in terms of power and Asterios is literally holding his own against 3 of the most powerful level 6's in the series. I'm really glad that Bell lost the fight because it's too incomprehensible to think he would have won, so I can definitely appreciate that the writer was aware of that much at least
What are you exactly questioning here? I'm a bit confused over the intention or wording of your comment, my apologies. I saw this as more of a test of character & growth than a, "bell's pulling up narratively because he can beat him right now. " On a side note, although levels and experience are incredibly meaningful, certain skills can lessen or even supersede gaps of power in particular circumstances. This is not in anyway a defense for bell potentially winning said fight, but a reminder that it may be important to not hyperfocus exclusively on that.
It also looks like they cut the stuff like ottar pointing to asterius where bell was fighting and the whole cassandra bit, but maybe thats in the last episode. And in episode 11, it feel like they messed up the gareth fight and didnt even include tiona and tione, like, they didnt even hide that they were hestia familiar and are just going to ignore it.
Every extra lvl gives much higher stats by ALOT. Unless u r Bell who can max out almost all his stats b4 levelling up, it is not possible for lower lvl to evenly fight w a higher lvl. Lvl 7 Ottar can easily defeat all lvl 6 if it was 1v1.
This part of the novel was sooo very stressful for me it was super heavy that i have to take breaks after reading 5 pages or so. It was heavier than heavy novels for me and this is a Light novel. My head barely handled the plot. I like my light novels light plotted. But still, i love this novel i pushed through and I'm so proud of myself and I'm so proud of Bell like I just watched my own son grow from a boy into a man.
As much as they hyped up Asterius in the series.... there's still (spoilers) The Black Dragon that took out the highest leveled adventurers to ever exist. Zeus and Hera's familias did have adventurers even stronger than Ottar. And that dragon beat all of them.

I have to say, this 3rd season right now... has got me hooked more then ever on danmachi, to the point where i should read the entire LN and what not.

Her avenger skill is pretty insane that her rage against monsters (especially dragons) have a big impact on her boost, capable of going max level 7 wise despite level 6.
Her typical green type wind magic turns to black, Called Raged tempest.
And this is just what has been seen. Imagine the Zeus familia. Their lowest members were level 4 and their captain was level 9. The Zeus familia before they all died had an level 8 adventurer that was so strong he could essentially erase entire cities off of the continent. An adventurer so strong he would and could kill Asterios with just one finger.
That's how weak the current familia's are. 15~20 years before the current DanMachi takes place, there were way more powerful adventurers that were alive.
Bell is on floor 37 in the anime right now and he is barely alive. Some people in the Zeus familia made it past floor 70.

Q: Lyuu's status hasn't been updated for 5 yrs right? So if she does suddenly get updated like if the Hestia familia would be allowed to accept her as a member, would she be lvl 5 or 6?
EDIT: Ryuu just got her stats updated by Astraea and it's lvl 6 baby... Btw it's been 2 years since I left this comment. The new Captain of the Astraea familia
only level 5 but she likely would get really high level 4 stats and get options for a DA and a new skill and/or magic along with more DAs ranking up then we usually see is what I expect for Ryuu leveling up
@@zacwicht3189 yea. its stated that she leveled up at a consistent rate of 1 lvl per 1 1/2 years up to lvl 4 which is about as fast as aiz so her potential is probably similar. that being said she hasnt gone on any adventures since working as a waitress except for the times she helped bell. after the events of season 4 (vol 14 and 15) i think she deserves to jump straight to the peak of lvl 5 if she were to ever get a lvl up.
i'm pretty sure Lyuu CAN'T be Converted unless her Goddess appears from wherever she ran off to after Evilus ambushed and killed all her Familia. as we saw in the anime when Lili Converted from Soma to Hestia, the 'ritual' requires the 1st God (Soma) to release the Familia member by erasing the 1st God's Falna. then the 2nd God (Hestia) writes theirs upon the person.
since Lili was only lvl1 to start with in Soma's Familia, i'm uncertain if Conversion allows previously 'saved' Excelia under the 1st Falna to be applied to the 2nd Falna. a Status Update may lock that Excelia down under the 1st Falna and then the 2nd Falna just 'accepts that save point/Status' in the Excelia data file.
Aisha is a good example of what happens to an adventurer when their God (Ishtar) gets 'poofed' back to Heaven. Aisha was still strong and everything, so during that 'gap in coverage' ;) Aisha didn't lose any status/strength or whatever. now, under Hermes' Falna Aisha can continue to gain Excelia and suchforth.
therefore, even IF Lyuu's Goddess was 'poofed' back to heaven she would still be kickin ass and suchforth. but, i'm uncertain if Lyuu would even be GAINING EXCELIA at all without an Active Falna. remember, the 'common folk' without a Falna don't get diddly for hard work and effort in 'this world'.

No, Ottarl never fought or met Asterius before now... but he still somehow also recognizes the black minotaur as the same minotaur that he trained to fight Bell in in S1.... who Bell defeated and killed.

@@ericjoel5363 his magic is a long chant that he doesn't typically use of personal reasons but it has no upper limit on the amount of magic it can absorb and would have made him strong enough to defeat Asterious. His boots could only absorb a portion of the attack and left him paralyzed as a result.

Correction on this video: This is the strongest known monster in the anime thus far. Not in the light novels. I will not go into the specifics of the monsters that appear in the next arc but they put the minotaur to shame.

Seeing this video just makes me question the entire believability of the last episode when Bell fights Asterios. I mean at best Bell is a low to mid level 4 in terms of power and Asterios is literally holding his own against 3 of the most powerful level 6's in the series. I'm really glad that Bell lost the fight because it's too incomprehensible to think he would have won, so I can definitely appreciate that the writer was aware of that much at least
What are you exactly questioning here? I'm a bit confused over the intention or wording of your comment, my apologies. I saw this as more of a test of character & growth than a, "bell's pulling up narratively because he can beat him right now. "
On a side note, although levels and experience are incredibly meaningful, certain skills can lessen or even supersede gaps of power in particular circumstances. This is not in anyway a defense for bell potentially winning said fight, but a reminder that it may be important to not hyperfocus exclusively on that.
It also looks like they cut the stuff like ottar pointing to asterius where bell was fighting and the whole cassandra bit, but maybe thats in the last episode. And in episode 11, it feel like they messed up the gareth fight and didnt even include tiona and tione, like, they didnt even hide that they were hestia familiar and are just going to ignore it.

I've realize something from dan machi lvl 6 vs lvl5 is like an ant fighting a grass hopper
Every extra lvl gives much higher stats by ALOT. Unless u r Bell who can max out almost all his stats b4 levelling up, it is not possible for lower lvl to evenly fight w a higher lvl. Lvl 7 Ottar can easily defeat all lvl 6 if it was 1v1.
This part of the novel was sooo very stressful for me it was super heavy that i have to take breaks after reading 5 pages or so. It was heavier than heavy novels for me and this is a Light novel. My head barely handled the plot. I like my light novels light plotted. But still, i love this novel i pushed through and I'm so proud of myself and I'm so proud of Bell like I just watched my own son grow from a boy into a man.
