This arc has been so insanely good and this might be peak Danmachi. I do love the little insights to what is happening and why. I find it strange they changed that one part with Cassandra. It makes her character look worse than she actually is and they didn't need to do that.
I’m glad that was cleared up. Watching the anime only, it felt like I had missed something critical since Cassandra had her big breakthrough just last episode. It felt like a huge step backwards for her character and the writing
The season so far feels like a production made for the cinemas. It's super good. The premise of this arc feels like something out of a movie not a series. Every scene is important.
Beginning season one I expected this series to be happy go lucky, y’know: Bell floors everything because he’s Bell and gains a gigantic harem of cookie cutter women who all sleep next to him 24/7. While he has gained something of a harem of women who admire him, the show doesn’t throw it in your face. As a whole the show has gotten progressively darker, forcing Bell and his familia into increasingly dire situations, making them face dilemmas where the morally correct decision could get them all killed. I freakin love DanMachi.
The prominent theme of Danmachi is Justice so a lot of problems in the arcs is Bell scaling what is important to him. at Lili's arc its an easy choice, the only thing he is endangering while saving Lili is himself. Bell at this point learned that people can betray and do horrible things In Haruhime arc it was a hard decision to choose and save Haruhime, because they just recently tasted Familia Wars/ Conflicts with Apollo Familia. If he will save Haruhime he would endanger his entire familia. Bell got nearly raped in this arc and shedded his innocence once again Xenos arc was the turning point, because the scales, the choices were severe: save one monster girl or save your reputation, if he pick the former he'll be outcast by the whole society itself. Where Bell learned that being a fool and being a hero is one side of the same coin. The only difference is power. A fool has no power yet does the right thing, while a hero has power so he can easily choose the right thing. So it makes sense in the ending of xenos arc why Bell promised and showed resolve to be stronger This Ryuu arc is super interesting because what can Bell sacrifice for Ryuu? While this arc is gruesome we still havent seen that "choice" yet in this arc. The moment where Bell truly saved Ryuu

Maybe I am mis-remembering, but I swear that Bell knew skull sheep and the deep levels before being trapped there. In the anime Ryu not only helps bell keep track of where they are, but tells him what they are. And not only did it help him with fighting the monster in the deep levels, but in general survive navigate the maze that is the deep levels.
You are correct, he did know about them, but in his fatigue, his memory would need a bit of a kickstart so Ryu helped him by reminding him of them and giving more personal experience than what he learned from Eina.
There's always the fact that just reading about something never fully prepares you for. And Aiz warned him that nothing but seeing The Deep Floors for your self can prepare you for what it's like.
bell goes over that very aspect in the novel, saying that having knowledge does not equal having experience, and bell has a lot more faith in ryu's ability to help him with her experience than he does in himself to know better.
The thing is knowing about Skull Sheep and the White Palace doesn't mean you are truly prepared for it. Bell never once dreamed of falling down into the Deep Floors THAT soon. Ryu on the other hand HAS been in the Deep Floors and knows about what is down there. You're not wrong. Thousands of years prior, during the time of Argonaut (The Age of Heroes) the Dungeon was just a gaping hole in the earth endlessly pouring out these monstrosities. Almost all of humanity went extinct, and it took a force of combined races in a massive final battle to seal the Dungeon and create what would eventually become Orario. Had mortals lost, they would have indeed gone extinct. That's how scary monsters are in Danmachi, which is also why it is so hard for people to accept Xenos, and why the public at large is not told of them.

I remember reading this part of Bell's story and feeling his despair together with him. Like, I literally thought the author would kill him off. Or at least, kill one of his friends off. For some reason though, I envisioned the deep floors to be... well, DARKER. Like, pitch black. It kinda bums me out that the anime did that thing where the MC's surroundings are lit up. I mean, shit would've been scarier if it was darker. Maybe it's just me...
This is away from the anime but the danmachi game is adding some fairly interesting things, not sure its important enough to talk about but just want to mention it. Also stay of the danmachi wiki if you don't want spoiler for volume 18,they are everywhere
Honestly I don’t think I can remember the last time an anime has gotten me this exited for the next episode. Their entire season had been amazing, the Green Man was genuinely smart and cunning while still being creepy the supporting cast are driving the story in a way rarely seen form other series. And now we have a game of cat and mouse going on in the lower floors, giving me the same vibes as something like Alien Isolation where you are so hopelessly out matched all you can do is run and hide. Gah it’s so damn good.
this has become one of my fav animes. rly rly good , didnt expect it to become that good. hope cassandra gets her big moment so she can stop beeing ultra emo
This season feels like a horror movie like frozen, hills have eyes, the decent underwater, and the grey. Movies about being trap in the middle of nowhere and struggling to survive. Its being so fucking good how dread built up more and more as each episode goes by.
I'm surprised how dark this anime has gotten recently, I kinda assumed something like overlord would get dark later on but this one was kinda unexpected. Day 73 of asking for a grand assassin Hassan servant review
could you do an in-depth character overview of Aisha, like you do for the Overlord characters? I don't think I've ever seen one on Aisha and she's a damn good character.
okay, i guess this explanation of Daphne's "inaction" redeems her a bit. i was furious at her because everyone was trying so hard and she's over here being emo and crying about the end.
The entire Danmachi series is the literal incarnation of the words "But wait, it gets worse." It started with Bell fighting for his life against the Minotaur. Then Bell was running from a recently awakened Goliath with his unconscious friends to avoid dying 5 kilometers under the dirt together. Then there was the whole ordeal with the Black Goliath that threatened the murder of possibly hundreds of people, including Hestia. Then there was the quarrel with Loki Familia over the Xenos, almost risking his reputation to pummel down like a meteor. Then there is the Juggernaut and the deep floors that not only did push him to cheat death five or six times, but also bring him to the verge of insanity. And then there is the next arc with Freya, which REALLY did bring Bell to insanity... The author is clearly dedicating his entire life in finding ways to physically, psychologically, emotionally, and spiritually hurt Bell in any sort of way, no matter the cost.
As an avid fan of RPG/RTS I remember watching this anime first and second season as was hooked, then it stoped and I let it go...then it comes back and I am not gunna lie...it feel completely different from what it was...
Only you to make this more interesting, i was quite happy with the Moss monster and its cunning, i dont like much, haha more power goes brrr, si when it switched back to OP monster, and a person i dont care one bit, yes Ryu the flat iron board, wasnt much motivated, and with cassandra every single episode remind us of the """prophecy""", was very annoying, i was happy it changed to the rest of the party, because the plot armor is super stronger on rabbit foot side, ridley (juggernaut), who was a lighting fast and give no breach monster, just decided to sight view a lot, and cant somehow get two heavy injured people on foot, makes no sense.
The juggernaut was badly injured by Bell on floor 27. It lost its right arm, half its tail, and half its magic reflection armor due to Argo Vesta. Before that one of its reverse knee joints was destroyed by Bell, greatly reducing its speed and jumping ability. It is also afraid of Bell so it was more tentative in its approach. That's partly why it didn't get killed by the cave-in.
I just wish the Story would also include the growth of Hestias familiar. You'd think with such an anomaly like Bell the masses would kill each other to be a part of that familiar. Instead only named Characters join, or the recruitment of new adventurers is brushed aside with a bad joke or something. Or not mentioned at all. Hestia is still in debt somehow, despite the ludicrous prices some of the monster gemstones have, and despite the debt the familiar can constantly buy, build and repair their equipment, magic or otherwise.
So while most of what was left out are things that are kind of hard if not near impossible to be adapted in anime format which was the case with Overlord IV more or less, Cassandra's scenes were altered in a terrible way that downplayed her character apparently. Not giving her a mini-flashback sequence while she recited a short version of her Poem of Despair in the last episode wasn't that bad of an issue, but the devs didn't bother to animate Cassandra slightly tilted to the front with an expression that looked like she just got hit really hard after a large chunk of ice struck her back while she shielded Lily and Haruhime from the tidal wave the Amphisbaena (Premature) created? Ouch? Kind of, though that doesn't really matter after episode 14. Although you could argue an addition of Joker and Wicked Witch laughter after Bell saw those skeletons would add to the horror aspect the White Palace brings.
Damn it, I love your videos like this!!! I love DanMachi, and am a huge fan of light novels. I have chosen to let the anime run it's course, but, I wanna know the details, man.
anime always sadly skips the "inner thoughts" that the manga and LN tak about, like sword Oratoria Ais is very emotive adn even has this little chibi version of herself in the manga, (only appers like twice in the magna out of so far the 20 volumes but still.) its just so fun to read the manga nd watch the show that i now want to read the LN's. however i SUCK at keeping attention when it comes to LN and its the main reason i dont read Raildex LN's
It truly amases me how the danmachi animes is determint to ruin certain characters, here we have a moment of curage, grit and determination from Casandra be just her being a coward, while the oratoria had Lefiya was portrayed as just a overly yuri elf, with almost none of her greate moments being shown, like her singing her magic song while crying as the Hermes familia was dying around her, finishing it as one of them took the death blow meant for her, and her supporting the falling body as she cast her spell. note; that song of Lefiya in the manga totaly changed my view on her that I had gotten from the anime.

If it’s too dark the viewer couldn’t see.
Thanks!
I look forward to each video on danmachi great work.
Bell being put in such a struggling position scratches my beserk itch, even if ever so slightly
This is the golden season of Danmachi. Things got so tense and somewhat dark.
10:07 is that the flamedrake talisman +2 from hit game Elden Ring? wow!
Thank you for the great work 👍 😎
this has become one of my fav animes. rly rly good , didnt expect it to become that good. hope cassandra gets her big moment so she can stop beeing ultra emo
Inner thoughts found in the LN, exactly!
Love your videos keep ‘em coming ❤
The entire Danmachi series is the literal incarnation of the words "But wait, it gets worse."
It started with Bell fighting for his life against the Minotaur.
The author is clearly dedicating his entire life in finding ways to physically, psychologically, emotionally, and spiritually hurt Bell in any sort of way, no matter the cost.
and the way hot the author teased the cover photo of volume 18 with an EXTREMELY PISSED OFF HESTIA!
I only saw up to episode 11, the site I watched it only never uploaded anymore after that. I didn’t realize there were more episodes.
This just made my day :)
This last episode was so action packed and intense. Can't wait for the next episode
As an avid fan of RPG/RTS I remember watching this anime first and second season as was hooked, then it stoped and I let it go...then it comes back and I am not gunna lie...it feel completely different from what it was...
Great vid!! Keep it up!
Keep it coming 👍
Hestia is still in debt somehow, despite the ludicrous prices some of the monster gemstones have, and despite the debt the familiar can constantly buy, build and repair their equipment, magic or otherwise.
with every season danmachi has been getting better for me, but surely s5 cant surpass this
Danmachi never disappoints as awlays !
When I first saw the skull sheep, I thought it was the Darkness Devil from CSM
Let us pray for the Hestia Familia.
As much danger the are in, its not like its new for them.
They aint dead yet! Hope thus survives.
I’d say this is uliquorra levels of despair lol doesn’t get much worse
Damn it, I love your videos like this!!! I love DanMachi, and am a huge fan of light novels. I have chosen to let the anime run it's course, but, I wanna know the details, man.
The Elden ring references go crazy
Well bell does have an increased luck stat
@AniNews please continue Arifrueta cut content. season 3 has been announced to be in production.
anime always sadly skips the "inner thoughts" that the manga and LN tak about, like sword Oratoria Ais is very emotive adn even has this little chibi version of herself in the manga, (only appers like twice in the magna out of so far the 20 volumes but still.) its just so fun to read the manga nd watch the show that i now want to read the LN's. however i SUCK at keeping attention when it comes to LN and its the main reason i dont read Raildex LN's
the anime did Casandra dirty, not only made her give in, and also made her seems like not joining the battle at all
Skullsheep entrance can be made as a blackmetal album cover lol
The Dangeon laught? It didn't know, that the one who laught better is the one who laught last.
It truly amases me how the danmachi animes is determint to ruin certain characters, here we have a moment of curage, grit and determination from Casandra be just her being a coward, while the oratoria had Lefiya was portrayed as just a overly yuri elf, with almost none of her greate moments being shown, like her singing her magic song while crying as the Hermes familia was dying around her, finishing it as one of them took the death blow meant for her, and her supporting the falling body as she cast her spell.
note; that song of Lefiya in the manga totaly changed my view on her that I had gotten from the anime.
maaan, Cassandra got done dirty during this episode...
so good
What we learned from this season so far is.... Cassandra has to take the top spot of most annoying anime characters EVER
It's a shame how much injustice this anime is doing her.
@@Hunter-pt4zy True is so sad, i cant even keep seeing the comments in the anime, just people wanting for cassandra do die, why did they changed her.
@@Hunter-pt4zy J.C. Staff does a decent job with Danmachi’s OSTs, sound design and fight animation (especially in the important moments), but the pacing has always been sub-par at best with the series since way back in season 1
Sucks how much the anime is holding back potential popularity for Danmachi as a whole, cause in the light novels it’s clear that Omori, the author, knows what he’s doing in terms of writing
Not a single volume has failed to deliver so far, and it’s just sad how many people pass Danmachi because of its mediocre anime and dumb title
The title misleads people into thinking the series is just another bland harem story, when it’s actually much more than that
Imagine literally getting ptsd + clairvoyance as a passive ability. Literal veterans lose their minds, Cassandra is actually doing great considering what she's based on
Haruhime's ability is actually so OP. The first time she cast it, it was a huge deal. Now she's done it 3 times in one dungeon. I hope it eventually gets the ability to affect more than one person.
Boss fight start. Buff whole party. Ruin Boss.
Yeah her ability is one of the most broken in the series. In a series wherrr levels are huge and the biggest factor in combat and power an ability that can give an entire level boost is crazy.
And then the boss proceeds to decimate the party low diff anyway. Keep in mind, this isn't anywhere close to the last boss...
Seriously there's alot of important content that was skipped in season 2 or 3 alone such as Finn proposing to liliruca and welfs family trying to take him and his swords back to rakia I mean Seriously there's alot of skipped content especially when bell was spying on syr
SOOOOOO GOOD...OMGUUUDDDNNNEESSS
I only recently came to know that Ryū is a Japanese dragon... No wonder the name Ryuu Lion seems quite fitting now :)
Two of the Japanese carriers sunk at Midway were the Soryu and Hiryu, or Blue Dragon and Flying Dragon respectively.
i´m commenting to push the algorythm :D
that thanatos skin threw me off lmao
2:45 No if that would have happened the goats would have let them alone because of plot armour😅
This anime had a few things i hate
Enough to make me drop it, but it's still pretty good
Damn i thought it was cloth cloak the death sheep wears now makes it way more creepy that is it skin
I wish they would have kept the original act of Cassandra shielding. As an anime only I had a full week of hate towards her character, but I guess i've been bamboozled by the production company. LMAO.
I'm looking forward to when he gets out and gets the stats updated. I haven't read the manga, so this isn't spoilers
Do you want to know?
@@lastkingredd no, just assuming that's what's most likely going to happen
@@lastkingredd yes I wanna know
@@juanvargas9290 he's still level 4 even in the light novel
@@lastkingredd is the LN not that far ahead of S4 of the anime? or it is but bell just hasn’t leveled up for a long time
Hope you make a video about Mondaiji-tachi (anime/LN)
WOO LES GO!
Everyone in the comments: wow the anime screwed Cassandra
Ais fans: First time?
Juicyyyyyyyyyyy
We need somewhere else besides Hidive to watch this anime.
They did cassandra dirty
Will the new season be on crunchyroll? Because the other seasons are there…..
Now that I think dyrroth from mobile legends are look like bell Cranel
How did haruhime survive the napalm is what I wanna know
I think it was because of the cape she was wearing but I might be wrong though
In a nutshell, her goliath robe withstood the napalm attack and covered her from the fire. Without it, she'd been toast.
Her goliath robe protected her from the flames. However, I believe it gets roasted/destroyed as a result in turn.
@@unknownposter2075 it looks like the anime shows it flying off and maybe destroyed. In the LN it did not get destroyed
Perfect with my breakfast
*Yo what network are you watching season 4 on because it’s not on crunchyroll?*
Drizzt's Hunter
im missing a few episodes ???? havent seen them fight the crystal hydra in this detail ????
