I've been searching for that replacement part for ages! where could I get one? I'm more than capable of repairing it on my own so it would be a waste for me to get it repaired at a shop just for the part :(
Sony doesn't make those parts available so you will have a hard time finding it. That's how they get you to spend the money... They make sub par headphones and market them as premium and then charge you over 100 euros for the repair of a plastic part. Stay away from anything Sony in the future is my advice.
My last pair of Sony headphones lasted 2 decades before I gave them away. Sure, things aren't made like they used to be but I doubt very seriously they intended for them to be this problematic.
My cheap Sony and Philips headphones from the end of 80s are still in good condition, but these first version of MDR-X £320 headphones breaking super easily after 3 years even if I’ve kept them always in good condition and protected them from everything. Sony should think about if I want to upgrade to a new one and I can give away for free my old one to a friend who couldn’t afford it, I’d be happy to buy the latest one. But if it breaks easily, maybe I’ll choose a different brand.
