This is the spirit of an entrepreneurs .. producing a small plastic replacement piece that is superior than Sony's original piece and making it available for folks in other countries to fix their $300 investment. Thank you sir, you provided an amazing product and fast shipping to where I live in Mexico. You saved an amazing product from being shelved. The product is amazing for anybody looking to buy it, took me 3 mins to install. The wire screw is a bit tricky, I recommend using bright light during install makes it easier. Thank you once again!
Thank you from France ! It works perfectly and you just saved me more than 80 euros ! I am really happy, I can enjoy music again. The delevery was perfect, not long.
Just finished installing after I ordered last week. It was pain to install without a magnetic screwdriver tip but I got it done. Excellent replacement. Thank you.
Brilliant. I just fixed my headphones. The shipping time (to Canberra Australia) was much shorter than I thought (received them just under a week after I ordered them). And it works! It's a bit fiddly, but the youtube video was very helpful. The kit comes with the parts, a mini philips head screwdriver, and the separator tool. Would definitely recommend these guys and this product for people trying to fix an otherwise perfectly good pair of headphones. Well done Central sound! Keep up the great work!!!!
Thank you from Canada! Only thing I recommend is magnetized screwdriver, my fingers are too beefy for the little screws, lol. Fast international shipping, great customer service!!!
Got this delivered to the UK. Works perfectly. At first I couldn't figure how to get the two parts to snap together. Trust me they do. Just be patient and apply slight pressure.
Thank you central sound from Belgium, the parts just arrived today and it works like magic. Shipment was faster than expected, the parts and the included tools are really well packaged in the box. Really good experience with you guys and I would highly recommend your business to anyone who need.
Worked perfectly! The kit included the right tools, so replacement was really easy. Thank you for saving me a few hundred bucks on some new headphones since mine otherwise worked great.
I came here not to learn how to replace the slider, but just to look what's inside it because I couldn't find any teardown video for these headphones. So thank you Sir!
I’ve just broken my slider cover and I’m looking for replacements, these look great. I notice the the outer slide cover doesn’t have a ring like the original, is that because you can’t disconnect the wire in any way to slide the ring over the headband?
The screw at 5:52 was very fiddly to line up but that's the nature of the beast, so this is just a comment and not a complaint. The process took me about 15 minutes. Good product, thanks.
I just put a black tape around it and it works, However it´s nice to know, that there is a real solution if I want to opt for it later. Thanks for that!
Just got the part today, quick shipping. Thank you so much Central Sound :) Was a little difficult to get the inner screw back on, but I got it done. Now my headphone is good to use again! :D
Thank you so much for these Central Sound. Good as new now with these new parts. Got delivered to Scotland in about a week and everything needed was in the box. Don't fork out new headphones, just get a set of replacements from these guys. Keep up the good work :)
Thanks. I had my WH-1000XM3s since launch and that fragile little rim blasted off from regular nearly four years of otherwise excellent service, this is a lifesaver, I'm not ready to spend hundreds of dollars on a new pair of headphones just because a tiny speck of plastic is holding the whole mechanism together.
Finally got my central sound wh-1000xm3 replacements on... took me some time after procrastinating, but it was easy & efficient installation process, thanks!
Need to update this video. Attaching the 2 halves is much more difficult now that the halves have been beefed up. But a little patience and a set of vice grips works wonderfully. The parts are so much better than the original Sony parts. They are rugged while maintaing flexibility. I found , with use of vice grips, snapping in one side first and then the other worked much better than trying to get both in at the same time. Just be patient and you'll be more than happy with the final product.
Hello, thanks for your order and taking the time to leave feedback. The parts have been changed a bit so yes there is more pressure needed to snap them together.
Just got my parts They are perfect! Also just to note they are not 3D printed lol def a mold of some kind. Durable as hell highly recommend it Also get there ear pads they are better than OEM!
Awesome parts. I was sad when mine broke but these helped me make the headphones usable again without hassle. I would just recommend getting a separate Philips #000 screwdriver (or whichever size is the smallest) as the one that is included in the kit didn't work too well after I fixed one side. Great product overall though.
Hi, I need a Side Cover Slider Parts UPGRADE KIT for Sony WH-1000XM3, it is Sold out currently on website, how can expect get it, may I hope to be available ? Tyvm
Thank you! I just received the parts and they worked great. I lost the wire tightening screw in the process (looked for 30 minutes). I went ahead and finished the process without the wire screw and it seems to be working great. Should I be concerned? Also, if I need to buy that screw, what would I look for? Thank you again!
Thank you from Australia! Just looking side by side compared to the Sony parts, you have made a much better design. I wonder if Sony got any ideas from this video when designing future headphones!
Thanks so much for taking the time to leave some feedback. Your small business support is greatly appreciated. Glad we can help you and 1,000's of other customers with this same issue.
I had a frustrating experience installing these headphones. The installation process here is edited and cut down to appear much shorter than what it actually took me. The screwdriver itself fits, but it was too long and difficult to use upon the reassembly part (about 5:57 into video). In fact, I found myself unscrewing and trying to do install the outer part first multiple times...I'm frustrated at myself because after the 4th time doing it, I accidentally popped out a screw and lost it so now can't complete my rework. My suggestion is to please put an additional screw or two in the kit if the installation because this troublesome to complete. Do you sell any related screws?
I was having the same issue. What I did was leave the screw inserted and started. Then pushed into place and screwed it in. Was a frustrating experience at first. But I am pleased with a quality of the product and the results.
Hey got these parts today was going all well but managed to misplace one of the screws was wondering if you knew what size screws to purchase as a replacement?
I've now had my xm3 ever since they released on market back in 2018. Used them almost every day and never taken them off my head for rain or snow or any other weather. Dropped them in the ground too many times to count from head height. Today was the day they gave up on me. But not anything plastic or the battery or anything I've seen anyone else have a problem with. For me it was the tiny metal clip in the slide that clicks and locks the length of the slide that broke off. I've search all around the web to try and find one but doesn't seem to exist as a spare part? If anyone knows I'd really appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction! Or if anyone has any other bright ideas. Until then I guess I'll just have to tape it to a fixed location 🤷 Without a doubt the most resilient headphones I've ever had or heard about! 🙏
do you have any advice/parts for replacing the top part of the headphones? (the part that rests on the top of your head). mine started peeling, and i can’t find any video on replacing it 😭
I purchased these parts and I confirm that they fix the design issue. However I suggest to insert the outer part first and then screw the cable holding piece before securing the inner piece. The other way around was impossible for me.
After a lot of frustration trying to get the screw in using the video tutorial, I did as you suggested, before seeing the suggestion, and it works perfectly!
How would I re-attached the head band to the bracket of the speaker on the left hand side?its came away and by the looks of things was potentially glued. However glueing is proving very difficult.
Quick update.. decided to take it apart. By the looks of things (incredibly) the 2 main parts of the swivel came away with no damaged at all. A case of Jst sliding the small metal horse clip out, popping the 2 parts back in place and pushing the clip back over. Good as new!
Hey there, thanks for the video. I'm stuck in the process. On the right side of the headphones, the wire is fully extended and I can't get it to retract back into the headband. Any tips?
The original pieces are terrible - both broke within a year and a half of use. Absolutely unacceptable for $350 high-end headphones. Your parts look much more reliable. Thank you for providing a replacement, now I don't have to have my Zoom meetings in headphones with duct tape all over them :)
Mine haven't been broken or anything, they just creak quite a bit now. I've only owned them for about a month I think. I managed to stop the creaking with a bit of tape around the left headband where the creaking comes from, but even then it doesn't stop it completely. The creaking only happens when I go to put them on or take them off (when I stretch them apart), would these replacement parts be prone to creaking or would they also fix this issue? I'm definitely considering ordering a pack of these. Cheers.
Hi Jack. Thanks for your question. These may take care of the creaking issue, hard to know for sure though. I would not advise buying these and installing them unless your parts are broken or worried they will break. The reason being, you will need to cut away the small thin plastic ring on the original parts, once you do that the original parts are useless and there's no going back.
@@ops2932 I mentioned I fixed it with some tape, but turns out that was only temporary. Then the other side started to creak as well! I didn't want to have to put more tape on them or have to order replacement parts, so I instead returned them for full refund. I had high expectations from these headphones but overtime, I just found them underwhelming. The only thing going for them for me was the noise cancelling in the end. Along with the creaks, I had semi-frequent drops in audio quality for a few seconds, which became worse the more I used them. If Sony had of used a combination of (high quality) plastic and metal and didn't have minor audio issues, I'd still have them. Best thing for you to do is get some tape (I recommend a clear or black tape) and wrap it around the headband that is creaking. It's a pretty widespread issue and am curious to see if it affects the XM4 as well. If I ever was to buy over-ear headphones again, I'd be 100% picking Bose. But for the time being, I'm sticking with wireless earbuds purely for the convenience.
The parts are good, but get your own tiny screwdriver set with magnetised tips. I found it to be impossible to assemble with the provided screwdriver, but a 5 minute job with a proper one.
Can you open the shipping to Vietnam, many people here are also having the same problem with this headphone (I cannot find Vietnam in your shipping destination on your website)
The replacement of my problem left-hand-side Sony's went perfectly with these. First time. I was excited. Went to replace right-hand-side to even it out. Snapped. One side was produced very well. The other, no go and was useless. So I'm not sure of the quality control of this replacement whatsoever. But it's definitely better than the Sony garbage.
Yes they are. They will not fit. We do make sliders for the XM4 as well here centralsound.co/collections/sony-headphones-parts/products/replacement-side-cover-slider-parts-upgrade-kit-for-sony-wh-1000xm4-wh1000xm4-headphones

This seems to be a common problem because they're a hot item. I went to your website and they're sold out. I want to buy a sturdy American replacement as the others on Ebay look like cheap Chinese knockoffs. The left slide on my pair of Sony WH-1000XM3, out of the blue cracked and split open. I didn't even drop it. I sent an email and left a message inquiring about this item. Do you have an ETA on when this item will be back in stock?
These parts will not fit the Sony XB900N. The good news is that we are working on custom upgraded parts for that model and should be releasing them soon. We're hoping in the next 3-4 weeks we will have them available for purchase.
What is the screw size for the last two screws you use at the end of the video - when the two pieces are snapped together and you want to secure the headband? Also, a little pointer: the audio is very low. I had to wear headphones, increase the volume to almost max, and when any notification came through, the notification noise almost deafened me. Your audio is much lower than most other videos. Can you adjust?

If you have any further issues contact us directly. It's possible you may have purchased or received the wrong parts.
how did you make it work? I fatfingered and lost that tiny screw to secure the wire. Did you leave it floating in there?
@@alejandrojullian I lost the crew too😂it ended up not working and I scrapped the whole thing but hey I tried 🤷♂️
What screw driver do you need exacry
Do you guys have this part for the silver version?

Alexander Marci, dose the colour matter? Paint the part of the colour makes a difference.

Hi! Do you have the same sliders in silver?

Any idea how to do this on MDR-10RBT?
Do you deliver to the UK?

Hello, do you ship to Taiwan ?

But is really hard to slide, is this normal?

Thanks men this helps to fix my headphones because one inner part falls apart and I won't buy another one because I'm stingy
Excellent product!! Quick fix!!!
Hi. Do you ship worldwide? Bulgaria, for instance?

Just got it, fits well. Thank you!
Contact us directly to resolve your issue. Our apologies for the problem.
Are the sliders on XM4 that much different to XM3?
Yes they are. They will not fit. We do make sliders for the XM4 as well here centralsound.co/collections/sony-headphones-parts/products/replacement-side-cover-slider-parts-upgrade-kit-for-sony-wh-1000xm4-wh1000xm4-headphones
@@CentralSound dang, of all the things Sony decided not to change they decide to change the sliders? Classic Sony

Do you ship to Melbourne Australia?
Yes we do Sam!
They are now back in stock!
Is this problem solved on xm4? I would like to buy these headphones but this weak design does not convince me
There seems to be the same issue with the XM4. We are rolling out this same kit for the WH-1000XM4 model very soon.
What can I do if the one of the screws that is supposed to go back inside of the small posts are not able to be screwed properly?
Thanks for reaching out. If you placed an order through us please contact us directly for assistance.
I have the same problem
Does this part fits sony xb900n ?
These parts will not fit the Sony XB900N. The good news is that we are working on custom upgraded parts for that model and should be releasing them soon. We're hoping in the next 3-4 weeks we will have them available for purchase.
@@CentralSound I need it for my xb900n when you will release it and where can we hear from you that it has been released?
@@مشعل-خ3ذ we will release a video and reply to all inquiries for the XB900N parts. We recommend subscribing to our channel.
6:00 I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I find it completely impossible to align these parts.

Yes and Amen. Works like a charm.
Great News! Thank you for your order. : )
Thank for the awesome video. i just fixed mine :)
Hello, thanks for the comment and feedback. You can use the size M2x5 as replacement screws. Our apologies for the low audio volume.
@@CentralSound M2 x 5 or m2 x 5l?
The M2 x 5 seems to have quite a big head from what I see on searching.
Would you have a link to an example?

@@CentralSound Thank you so much :)
Do you have one for WH-H810? Mine's left side just snapped suddenly...
Unfortunately, we don't carry parts for that model.
Is there 1 pair or 2?
There’s two pairs, one pair for each side.
Thanks for the video. My right headphone slider does not fully return to its original position. There is a lag of about an inch. Is this easily fixed please?
Hello John, if you used our replacement parts then the wire in between both parts may be out of position and obstructing the function of the slider.
I haven’t done any repairs at all yet but it will need repairing. This is why I ask. Thanks.
when will the silver version be release?
We will not be releasing a silver version.
Great vid and great product
Glad you like it
he made putting that screw that holds the cable so easy
It's a bit tricky.
