I was able to 3D print my own cable comb. Have used it loads on our new renovation. Works really well.
I use Nail polish... Also good for Trimpot temporary lock
That was my option years ago but these days seems like UV soldermask is easier to use just because it sets in seconds.
6:00 I was looking at battery kits on Amazon recently.
They are nice that they enable building the battery pack but the charging part definitely needs to be handled by a dedicated lithium ion charger which makes it incompatible with retrofitting these within systems that have lead-acid battery charging circuitry.
For protocol testing I found the Power-Z PD 3.1 28V Voltage Decoy Test Board to be the one that pretty much does it all for me. It's the BLACK PEARL board (even though it's blue) from the YI FAN 4.4 Store on Ali. I've given away or properly disposed of the others I had lying around.
These look nice! Thanks for sharing!
15:45 - Hmmm... I don't know... I think that NOT being able to use my hammock might be a life-threatening situation. 😁
But in this particular case, ordering the carabiners might make it more convenient to use :-)
Thank you so much for your InTheMail video of today!
I'm searching for a UV curable adhesive to secure the wires on a JST XH2.54 connector.
Does anyone have some advise or other idea that works well for this?
While I don't know an exact model to recommend, I do know two brands that might get you there in your search: Kafuter and Mechanic.
I bought one of those black PD modules a while back, it works but the tracks for the output are soooo narrow.
Which particular model? these ones seem to have decent track width, not sure if enough for 5A, I will have to test that, but definitely decent.
Kitchen - face shield can save you from deep fryer oil splashes, especially if there is a water bubble that expands to steam, you will get oil splash your face, and boiling oil is very very hot !
Ok fair enough :-)
I SHOULD use a UV cure, but normally I just leave it bare, unless there is a wire going offboard.
Thanks! I appreciate the feedback.
I usually use UV curable glue after a repair. I was looking at the Mechanic L1 Pro to replace my little torch. But this seems almost the same, too bad for me with shipping it comes to more then the Mechanic.
I think there are at least 2-3 options floating around which are very similar, probably similar specs too if not exactly equal.
Hooray! In The Mail! I'm first.
Is the UV lamp visible purple by eye? If clearly, it would be something like 405nm. Same would probably go if the lens is plastic.
It is visible, but that pretty much says it can be a more spread spectrum output. Lens feels like standard plastic/PMMA
What's the reason you are not using 32AWG silicone wire for repairs that can withstand temperatures up to 200°c or higher? With these PVC insulated wires, the insulation will melt when you solder them to a board.
That's true only for cheap wire. I have at work 30AWG silver plated wire that doesn't melt when soldering. It is not silicone, but rather PVC
As Zetex mentioned if that's an issue for you user better quality PVC coated wires or silicone or teflon to get the best of both worlds.
In my case, the main reason is outer diameter. Silicone wires are too thick for my purpose so these PVC coated ones are just the perfect size for me. I could go teflon but that's too expensive for these type of jobs.
Easiest way to check if something is zinc alloy is to heat it up with a blowtorch...
What happens when you heat it?
@@voltlog It'll melt
