I've used the pencil bags and boxes for putting small meters and bits etc and they work well. I bought some when a store had them on clearance
Lezyne pumps are worth the extra cost. They are completely serviceable and last so much longer.
Good reason for the limitation: OEMs are paying the manufacturers to keep it that way. Makes right to repair more difficult.
Vote for the 12V connector test! It would also be very interesting to see a video on how one would diagnose ia device for non-existent or extremely bad EMI filtering (if doable with hobby level equipment), then demonstrating if there's notable difference with the filter you bought. 🤔
Happy New Year!
Happy new year!
I would love to see a separate cigarette lighter connector video. I need one that supports 5 amps, I tried the 10 amps model you got, but that almost burned the connector.
Okay, thanks for the feedback!
@@voltlogI ended up getting the 20A model (the one with the blunt fat tip). I tested it with 5A (which is all I need) and that works great. It's not even getting slightly warm. Not sure if it will actually do 20A.
@@fortemezzo Thanks for the feedback.
+1 for the connector toture test.
Those round LED bar graph modules are very nice. But for €22, I'll open KiCad and place some 0402 led's + resistors in a 300° round array :)
Expensive indeed but I'm guessing you could be getting them for much less if you reach out to the supplier and get a higher qty.
Excellent stuff, dude! 😊
Happy new year! And stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks! You too, Happy New Year!
Hooray! Mailbag to punish my wallet! Happy new year!
Happy New Year Mr Voltlog.
Was just looking at the EMI filter since it looks well built. The specs on the website ... DC 110-250V :-)
For that PD decoy board, have plenty but all without a decent case. Pretty sure if they offered one with a case for 1 Euro more then that would be the one I would buy.
Happy new year! Regarding the filter.. sometimes the guys selling these are not very technical and so mistakes like these can happen.
Lolz, the listing has thise chokes as 30 MEGA Henry 😂😂😂😂
yeah.. obviously a typo. The guys selling these are often not technical..
To who ever reads this. I would like an idea if where or how to determine to buy rechargeable batteries. The 3.7 ones. Thank you
for the bike pump- don't use the spring clamps. use a zip tie. you'll get more clamping force and no sharp metal edge to dig into your hand
Thanks for the tip!
@@voltlog Also, do yourself a favour and just get an original SKS dual pump valve (available in two models that are compatible with all bike valves) - much higher quality and more long-lived than what you ordered here.
Thanks!@@phoneuser7872
I would like to see a test of the lighter connectors. I bought some from Wal-Mart but it broke after only few uses, only couple of Amps load.
Okay, thanks for the feedback!
To me, the only use for cigarette lighter plugs is to make an adapter to a proper DC connector system.
I use PowerPoles, but there are others.
Sure, I get that. I need them when testing the output of power stations that feature cigarette lighter outputs.
That cigarette lighter adapter is not USB-C
Regarding the car cigarette lighters: maybe it's not RoHS or such other compliance, and it's not obviously a kit. You can sell non compliant products if they're not aimed at normal consumers, so kits of electronics type stuff is fine. Maybe this looks normal consumer, but isn't up to par to regulations, so an OEM or such other vendor would be shouldering the risks for their suppliers. I'm just guessing here.
Okay. plausible explanation.
There is a reason why some manufacturers don't like to see their products in hand of EU consumers: mandatory product support and warranty.
This obligation ultimately falls on the distributor in the EU (in this case Mouser) so I don't believe this could be the reason.
@@voltlog Yes and no. Sure the seller is responsible for abiding the customer protection laws, which is the reason why a lot of distributors don't sell to regular people in the first place.
However they can have special agreements with supplier so that they can hand off all the annoying bits (like always keeping stock of the items so they can replace them or customer support) and if the manufacturer declines such arrangements, it's easier for them to not sell the item to end customers.
I've seen that with quite a number of exotic parts from smaller manufacturers but also expensive special gear in the past.
