It’s been a while since we’ve had our InTheMail video here on the channel, I know this is your favorite as is mine, but rest assured even through summer, through vacation time, I continued to order interesting stuff from the usual supplier, aliexpress.com so here we go with the items
A long time ago I designed and had CNC’ed a tool for installing threaded inserts into 3D printed parts. At that time you couldn’t purchase a ready made one so I just designed my own, it was designed to fit a classic hakko soldering iron heater because back then I was still owning an old hakko clone soldering stations and I used it once or twice, it’s not something that I need very often because I don’t do a lot of functional 3D printing, I mostly do validation of enclosures with my 3D printer but when you need it you need. And so I need a few weeks back to place some threaded inserts into a 3D print, however since I don’t have any more of those old style hako 936 soldering stations I couldn’t use this, I’m all JBC and JBC clones these days.
So I went on Aliexpress and interest enough, there are plenty of options right now, like this kid which comes with various size tool heads for dealing with various size threaded inserts and there is a selection of bundle kits that include a soldering iron model or you can get a cheap one like I did here, separately.
So the idea is that you would remove the soldering iron tip from this and you install your threaded insert tool, and seems that I got my choice right, this fits just nicely and now I can adjust my temperature with his manual dial, you don't really need to go fancy with digital control for threaded inserts, just ballpark temperature setting will do fine
I’ll start showing my next item by showing the box it came with and a picture of the item because the actual item is now installed in my car. I’ll follow up with some sample video but first a bit of background. I have this RCD330 media player in my VW Golf and this supports Apple Carplay via USB wired connection. That’s great because I can play my music and view Waze or Google Maps directly on its 7 inch screen. Наука
@19:00 Yes please. A comparison to the HOPI would be nice
we want a test, teardown, reverse engineering and overload finale with an explosion that would make the myth busters crew jealous. Thank you. We await!
Thanks for the video a teardown of the watt meter would be great to see👍
Great video. Yes, please do a follow up on the Atorch for accuracy! (Esp. kWh)
Will do!
Pillboxes could be good for smd parts
You can change your ATORCH Powermeter screen brightness in the app settings. I'm using the wifi model with Alexa everyday and love it. Thanks for the videos. Greetings from Sweden!!!
Thanks for the tip!
I have this power meter and there is one big flaw. Inside is only a small rellay rated for 10A. If you want to use it with more than 2000W you should install bigger rellay or bridge its concacts.
Hmm, thanks.
I have similar from Ali
Have to check inside. Maybe it has same flaw. I'm sure it has
I was thinking why would a power meter need a relay, then remembered it can switch the outlet on & off.
As an aside the ErCan Everything channel has repair video on these, dead inductor after trying to measure a bad inductive load.
Time ago I got one of these carabiners. The 'CE' certification letters had the wrong font and the numbers were invented. Even with the correct letters and numbers it's difficult to trust them. For real climbing it is a real risk. I reported it to Amazon, they returned the money and the seller disapeared and probably appeared with a different name.
I don't think anyone would really use these for life critical applications but for other activities I think they do a good job.
The small one no, but the bigger one with the security lock is sell for climbing and is advertised for climbing.
And it is a real risk of dying. Climbing is not uncommon to develop forces above 1000kg, I don't know if each one it is tested.
Of course I know that you can't trust them, but they sell many to anyone.
Besides that, it is forbidden to sell any kind of thing in Europe without the proper 'CE' certification, or the respective certifications in other places.
@@johncoops6897 yes, they have, check the video again (15:20) and the links. And regarding the CE certification that's not true. They are obliged to have it if they sell and send to EU. I buy and order it to my house, not to china. I'm a EU customer of aliexpress. It applies also to resellers and importers, to all the supply chain until the final customer.
I agree that this is maybe an extreme example, but it happens with any product, their materials and health safety, environment, children safety, etc. I buy a lot in aliexpress, electronics, and I also could agree that maybe we will die before from regulations than from safety topics in most of the cases.
salut ! sunt si eu din constanta. cum pot sa iau si eu legatura cu tine in vederea achizitionarii unui programator de la tine ?
