You forgot the circumstances 1 He just killed his father which he thought would make him more powerful in the darkside but actually weakened him. 2 He was shot in the gut with A cross bow and that’s shown to be able to throw stormtroopers several feet in the air. 3 He had compassion on Rey and didn’t want to kill her why Rey was fully bloodlusted and Using the dark side to try and kill Kylo. 4 Rey because of the Dyad was able to Adopt Some of Kylos Skills when they had the mind battle. That’s why Rey was using mind tricks after because she got it from Kylos mind like an imprint. She also was self trained and used a bow staff for most of her life so it’s not like she was completely unexperienced She just didn’t know how to use the force. 5 Rey is a Palpatine and Palpatine himself destroyed his entire family using the force even tho he wasn’t trained at the time.
He was shot and bleeding out, had a shoulder wound from Finn and was incredibly unbalanced and conflicted and in emotional turmoil due to murdering his father. The whole point is he had everything going against him and set up. Meanwhile Rey allowed the Force to guide her and is a naturally powerful force sensitive being Palpatine’s granddaughter AND a Dyad with Kylo.
Lose? You need to watch the movies again, or at least the duels. Firstly, in Ep 7 Kylo was shot by Chewie's Bowcaster. Those things hit like a truck. They even use bullets. Its metal projectiles coated in plasma energy. So Kylo was wounded af(it was definitely the dark side keeping him standing), and it was basically a 2v1 fight, Finn THEN Rey(who isnt some random after 8 & 9 fixed her bad 1st impression). Also, Kylo was blinded by his emotions after seeing Han again. Now look at 8 & 9, especially 9. Rey was rash & blinded by her emotions. She fought with rage, while Kylo was calm and dodging & weaving lightsber swings. He had Rey on the ropes, showing the skill gap between the two. Plus he picked up on the same move of force pushing a saber. Until Leia interfered, and Rey almost killed Kylo(& seemingly killed Leia). So not a single time did Rey beat Kylo on her own. If it wasnt for Leia, Kylo wouldve won.
Rise of Kylo Ren is a hood classic, we definitely need more Ben Solo material and I’m flabbergasted we’re almost 10 years out from the Sequel Trilogy’s debut with virtually nothing about this time.
We should have gotten this in the sequel trilogy. Ben Solo/Kylo Ren is the best/most interesting character in the trilogy. Showing his backstory onscreen would give greater context for not just him, but also Luke, Han, Leia, and even Snoke.
Ben's parents and uncle set themselves up to fail him. I think Leia is more to blame than Han, although he bears some of the responsibility. Parents are supposed to do anything for their children and love them unconditionally. Leia cared more about her career than her only son, failed to notice how isolated and lonely he became, and could not provide him with a trustworthy adult figure to confide in or turn to when he needed it. Also, Ben was unable to really confide in Luke, because any attempt to help him work through his problems would probably have looked like favoritism since Luke was basically a teacher as well as an uncle. Then when her son went off the rails, as children with abandonment issues frequently do, Leia gave up on him pretty much straight away. A better parent or mother would have done everything and tried everything to reach out and help their child.

And after What he think he saw Luke did made him believe that even more and so he idolized Vader because he felt like that’s what he Should be even tho deep down he doesn’t want to be Vader. Ben is naturally pulled to the light Why Anakin was naturally pulled to the dark.

He trains him after his mother’s death at the hands of Boba Fett, but he also tells Orion the truth about Vader and why he used to be good. Instead of falling to the dark side like Ben did, Orion is a wreck but Luke comforts him and tells him that there is still good in their family. When Orion turns 21, he is sent to train under Ahsoka alongside his cousin Jaina Solo, who Han and Leia doted on. Unlike Ben, Jaina is not sent to train with Luke, instead she stays with her parents and bonds with them. She is also a smart kid, but she is prone to self-blame and guilt. She is upset at first for having Leia hiding the truth about Vader, but Ahsoka convinces her to trust her more which she does. When Orion and Jaina find out Luke is in exile, they call him and Luke is so overjoyed that his son has survived, he vows to leave Ach-to for good and help Leia. That’s how you fix characters.

Make Abeloth have a lasting impact on Luke’s mental state making him more paranoid of the dark side which leads him to make his mistake with Ben

I’m honestly not afraid to admit that 7-9 is my fav sw trilogy and 8 is my favorite sw. Yes I have a lotta nostalgia for the prequels I love Anakin, Obi & padme. & Ik that 4-6 is the best through and through stories with 3 great films. But I just enjoy 7-9 the most mainly because of Ren. And how yes he’s our new Skywalker but he’s rather fascinating because he’s tryna pull away from the light vs tryna pull away from the dark. We don’t see that in Vader till episode 6 really. Ben solo makes it those films so entertaining to me. Sure I think episode 8 would’ve been sick if Kylo & luke clashed sabers before Luke disappeared. But it was technically still a duel. Sort of a fencing meets the matrix kinda duel. And I love Rey/ren together. Episode 9 the weakest outta the three still gave us an epic few scenes of Ben. I love the sequels and always will. And I totally understand and respect if you disagree with me that’s ok they are just films at the end of the day for entertainment (: 7 = ultimate og sw nostalgia fest for OT fans from ‘77-83. B+ 8 = anti nostalgia and a rebirth of Luke miring King Arthur. B+ 9 = a lesser version of episode 6 with great action. Straight up popcorn film. C-!
