"Shouldn't dibble dabble in the spooky dooky, gives you the heebie jeebies" 😂😂 + a couple extra giggles because I'm watching as a paranormal investigator who's day job's building is also haunted 👻👻 (I guess that's more than a dibble or dabble though, so I'm probably good, right? 😉😂) Much love on the spooky season reacts (and your i2i dance tutorial), even though I've just now found my way to your channel!
The Hatbox Ghost is significant because they designed him for the original ride opening in 1969, but the illusion just didn’t work with the technology they had at the time, so they removed him immediately. It wasn’t until 2015 when technology had sufficiently advanced that the Hatbox Ghost could finally materialise at Disneyland California. He’s recently been added to Florida as well, and so in a sense this movie is one big advertisement for him.
The fun fact about Madam Leota is that the woman who voices her at the attraction is the same voice actress who played both Maleficent in Sleeping Beauty & the Evil Stepmother of Cinderella. They recorded her voice for the ride.
15:20 I'm an American, and we mostly use imperial measurements still - though metric is used in certain contexts. I fully believe metric is better, but the imperial approximations are already in my head for estimating distance and weight, so that's what springs readily to mind in common usage. Like, I know what a pound of ground beef feels like in my hand, but a kilo? No idea. I know my husband is just over 6 feet tall. Meters, 2 plus? Ehhh....
The Hatbox Ghost is one of the most popular ghosts at the Haunted Mansion ride mainly due to the mystery around his origins. So the story goes that in the early days of the ride, back in the 60s, a rider suffered a heart attack due to being so scared by one of the animatronics on the ride. It was learned later on that this animatronic carried a hatbox and had this special effect with it that made it seem as though he could move his head from his body to the hatbox, hence the name "Hatbox Ghost". Due to so many people complaining that this animatronic was "too scary", Disney Land removed the animatronic from the ride altogether. However, years later, people began talking about an animatronic that used to be on the ride, and people started wanting to know more about it. Eventually, due to public demand, the Park brought back the animatronic. The Hatbox Ghost - or "Hattie" as fans of the ride affectionately call him - does not have an official backstory, at least, not one that's officially canon. Instead, he's had multiple backstories. He also does not have an official name, and Alistair Crump is a name that was just given to him for this movie. He's named after Rolly Crump, the man who created the Haunted Mansion ride, and Alistair Crowley, a well-known occultist. There is also no proof to say if the Hatbox Ghost's character is meant to be evil, in fact, many believe him to be more mischievous than evil.
I think this is better than Eddie Murphy version of Haunted Mansion. In it was about one of the ghosts, but here it tells why all are there. It makes sense I got a few suggestions on which Disney classic to watch. "The Great Mouse Detective", "Robin Hood", "Olivier and Company" and "Zootopia"
The house in this movie is based off the ride in California..it was the last project that Walt put aside for the world fair then he died and it was the project they finished after his death…
I always love seeing your guy’s reaction! I’m Ediz in these type of movies because I’m not the biggest Horror/Thriller fan but since it is Disney … I had to do my due diligence 😬😆🫡 Now there is so many Easter eggs that they put in this movie compared to Eddie Murphy version, it’s hard to name them all like the “stretching room” 😜 But to cover your insight what the big deal is for the whole “Hatbox Ghost” basically the Hatbox Ghost animatronic was in Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion for a bit when it first opened in 1969 & they took it out since it wasn’t working properly with the effect. Then, with Disney fans seeing the hatbox ghost appearing in Disney artwork in the early 2000’s at the parks, speculating that it would have a comeback. Then, around 2015 Disney announced it would have the figure come back during Disneyland’s 60th anniversary in their Haunted Mansion. & now, with the popularity of their Hatbox Ghost & this movie, Disney said they’ll be bringing it over to Walt Disney World’s Haunted Mansion. I maybe missing some minor facts in between, but that is the main facts for the culture surrounding the famous HatBox Ghost 😮💨👻🥰
I am not really a huge fan of Horror or scary movies, but I felt bad for Ediz I would probably be like him attempting to watch a horror movie or scary movie of some sort I got shivers while he got shivers.
I just discovered your channel and I LOVE your reactions!! As a Disney fanatic myself, I love seeing other Disney fans react to these movies! New fan here!
The Hatbox ghost was supposed to be in the Haunted mansion when it first opened but was left out due to lights messing up the trick. He soon returned thanks to an imagineer who built him in his garage in his spare time. His story makes him my favorite ghost in the Haunted mansion.
I WAS getting worried for Melody Time, so I'm grateful for your reassurance on that point. (I mean it! I live for your journey together through the Animated Classics!! At this rate I may not live long enough to see you finish the series! LOL)
the hatbox ghost is not even a haunt in the mansion there are said to be 999 happy haunts and he is not deemed happy so he's not a haunt in the mansion
The mom keeps acting like that around antiques because she collects them. Like someone collects Pokemon cards. That is why she was so into the house in the beginning. She's an antiques collector and geeks out over them. That's what those reactions were. I'm the same way around old cars like the Hudson Hornet. I get the same way.
You don't get it, do you? It's not the Hatbox Ghost's trick that people like about the Hatbox Ghost. It's the whole lore and mystery behind his character. It's his backstory or lack there-of. It's his whole connection to the ride. He's been a staple character/animatronic at the Disney Land ride since the ride's opening in 1969, just about everyone who loves the ride loves him, along with the Hitchiking Ghosts, Constance, and Madam Leota.
Do you like movies based on Disney rides? Here's our list of Disney rides that we think should be next.

Watching Ediz squirm at all the scary moments is so CUTE! ❤❤❤❤ I want to hug him to comfort him.

The Hatbox Ghost was taken off the ride for years and he was very popular so they brought him back recently.
Oh we need more horror films just to fk with ediz. It’s like the most reactive and emotional I’ve seen him.
Oooo they should do Don’t Look Under the Bed next 😂

Haunted Mansion could also be an additional Disney Smash Bros. stage as well as other attractions like Small World and Mickey's PhilharMagic.

5:32 not me saying “Ediz….” at the same time in the exact same way 😂 gotta power through for the viewers!
Hat box ghost was lost and recently found and then put back in the ride.
Also Hatbox Ghost or The Bride needs to be in your Smash Bros.
