It’s about time Hatty was installed into the WDW mansion, despite being in the Endless Hallway. Had the original effect worked, he would have been in WDW anyway.
I think Disney went off of the new movie for putting him in WDW, as in the movie hes kind of out of madam leotta's control so maybe they put him earlier in the ride to show that he can be summoned with out her? Either that or Disney just made another decision for money without thought.
Seems more to me like they are trying to echo a shot from the movie where the Hatbox Ghost does appear down a hallway walking toward one of the protagonists.
It's a ride meant for kids who don't even pick up on the story. All they know is that it's a mansion with ghosts and that's all it really needs to be. The fact full grown adults are losing it over such a small, ineffective detail is pure hilarity. It's meant to be fun, not a Salman Rushdie prose.
This is only one of two rides at WDW that Walt Disney personally oversaw. The DL Haunted Mansion and WDW Haunted Mansion were made at the same time. The whole point was that the first part of the ride is supposed to be moody and dark. The second half is supposed to be light and silly.
But the ghost host’s narration confirms over and over again that the ghosts aren’t to materialize till after the seance scene Imagine riding Peter Pans Flight and having a Captain Hook animatronic in the Darling Nursery Scene. It’s basically that
@@KRobinson-ko1ne But that's the thing ... A kid...most kids... don't care, nor does it change the fact the berm and all pre-show material isn't affect by that rule. That's my point. The "story" is unaffected so wildly.
So because it’s meant for children context doesn’t matter? This ride is supposed to push the limits in terms of presentation, technology AND story. And having the hatbox show up so soon like so conflicts with the narrative, the narrative that the Ghost Host is verbally spouting throughout the ride. And with that it kills the dramatic effect of seance and every seen after that complimented by the subtlety of the early portion
@@KRobinson-ko1ne Read the whole chain, I've made my point more clear. To reiterate, I'm not saying, nor have I ever said, story isn't important or that adults can't enjoy it, or that kids can't discern, etc. My point, yet again, is that kids aren't obsessed with these ideas. You're all applying purely adult logic to a ride about fun ghosts bumming around a mansion. It's not the highest of arts and having a single ghost pop up a scene before doesn't undo the other 98% of the experience. I can't think of a single person below the age of 13 who is as absorbed by this change than Disney adults which negates the whole idea of family entertainment. That's my issue here, not a perceived problem with story fundamentals. 9/10 riders won't care or won't make that connection, because... it's a bunch of silly ghosts bumming around a mansion. The story works REGARDLESS.

Great Video!
well in 2020 he was in the mansion I saw him in WDW was fun ride
I don’t see how that’s possible, since he’s only ever been in the Disneyland ride since 2015.
