It's true, Askeladd said it first. It's even in the first volume of Vinland Saga. 🙂 Either way, it doesn't matter. They're two both really good shows in their respective rights, with two really good protagonists. So it doesn't really matter at all about who said what first. ☺️

You don't really hear too much about Kabenari whereas AOT is hard to escape with its popularity. Maybe it was less a case of one being more profitable than the other and more like it costs too much to continue making it? Maybe a similar situation like One Punch Man's season 2.

This is an awesome cover! I can't believe I found it until now - it's unfortunate it lost its double meaning in translation though. Here's an alternative translation of the chorus that might not be singable, but retains the double meaning: Original Japanese: 「ねぇ、どう描いてたんだろう？ どの景色を見ても何も感じなくなったよねぇ、考え直してもあの景色を求めていた僕は無感情なの？」 Modified English: "How had I envisioned it? I no longer feel a thing looking upon this scene. Thinking back, have I been heartless for pursuing this all along?" (SPOILERS) This translation isn't perfect either since it removes the scenery and potential for it to allude to Vineland, but it preserves the alternative meaning where the song is being sung from the perspective of Thorfinn watching Askeladd die. He's commenting on how he's grown numb to the sight of death, and doesn't really know what he had really envisioned Ashkeladd's death would be like - how it would make him feel. That's where the full weight of the cruelty of his lifestyle and the world around him finally hits him - which is the beauty of this song. It has this alternate meaning after the end of the anime.

It's pretty awesome. Only streaming on Amazon prime. Basic premise is it's a semihistorical drama about the Viking era. It focuses on a young boy named Thorfin and his misguided quest for revenge. Great animation and really good with details.

This is an awesome cover! I can't believe I found it until now - it's unfortunate it lost its double meaning in translation though. Here's an alternative translation of the chorus that might not be singable, but retains the double meaning:
Original Japanese: 「ねぇ、どう描いてたんだろう？ どの景色を見ても何も感じなくなったよねぇ、考え直してもあの景色を求めていた僕は無感情なの？」
Modified English: "How had I envisioned it? I no longer feel a thing looking upon this scene. Thinking back, have I been heartless for pursuing this all along?"

This translation isn't perfect either since it removes the scenery and potential for it to allude to Vineland, but it preserves the alternative meaning where the song is being sung from the perspective of Thorfinn watching Askeladd die. He's commenting on how he's grown numb to the sight of death, and doesn't really know what he had really envisioned Ashkeladd's death would be like - how it would make him feel. That's where the full weight of the cruelty of his lifestyle and the world around him finally hits him - which is the beauty of this song. It has this alternate meaning after the end of the anime.
