    Never saw this before, I activated this park last year shortly after you shortly before my first Covid shot. I gave myself an extra hour to activate. Used to live in South Berwick for 24 years until we sold our home and moved all the way south to Portsmouth in Nov of last year.

    That wind has me looking at your tripod and shiny new rig. Keep a bag of rocks on that lightweight tripod for insurance. Rob/WA9RAD

      That is the first thing I thought also! I had a really cool telescope the “Astro scan” (red ball base) on a tripod in a windy field. Wind blew it over and destroyed it.

    Small world. I personally know KO4DHA. He lives about 3 or 4 miles behind me. He got his ticket last year and upgraded to Extra.
    I've got a IC-705 and used it to talk 2m simplex FM and SSB. I'll tell you what, the IC-705 is my first HF rig and love that little radio. Icom did a great job on designing it.

      Dale helped me out a lot with the 705, especially on programming local repeaters into the radio. I got a couple of HF antennas for it. One End Fed half wave 80-10m MFJ 1982MP and the AL-705 magnetic loop antenna. Got the magnetic loop set up in the house just to listen on HF. Can't wait to it outside and run it at 10w one night when the weather improves.

      @@Transmissions Yes I fell over in the dark I did not see the curb. I fell down and smashed my shoulder breaking the bone. I got up and then fell unconscious and smashed my head on the concrete. I now have many weeks off work to recover. I am in good spirit. Quite a bit of pain. But getting better every day. Should make a full recovery. Thanks for asking my friend.

    I got mine and the backpack for my birthday. A relative bought it for me when they found out I was studying for Tech. Of course, Little did they realize I really can't fully take advantage of this unless I at least got my GENERAL (HF and D-Star).

    I've been using the PAR TF for a few months with both a Xiegu G90 and my FT991A . Just picked up a 705. I typically use the TF with a 12M Spiderpole and can run it as a vertical. The Spiderpole is too big for hiking, but the thing kicks butt in that configuration. Good video and I hope to hear you on the bands. 73 de N1QDQ

    What is the model of the antenna mount on the backpack? 2 Connectors? Looks cool!

    • @Transmissions
      @Transmissions  3 года назад

      This is the Windcamp mount. I bought it off Aliexpress for $30. In this video, I ran straight into the radio as the mount seemed to add a tiny bit of swr.
