11:21 There is actually a purpose to the rank system when it comes to the passive (yellow) shards. If you enhance yellow shards to the highest rank, the yellow shard becomes a white shard, so the effect remains active and can be toggled like other white shards. Given how good some of the passive shards are, it is worth the effort of increasing their rank to get their white shard versions.

Fun fact: As with most Iga castlevania titles, he threw in a few JoJo references. O.D. is a nod to DIO, the stone mask, the gas mask or the rebreather is a nod to the hamon training mask, and the two poses Miriam does when you hold up on the D-pad are from Johnathon and i think Dio

I thought O.D was a nod to dracula...the original dracula from the castlevania series...(the others are probably JoJo references, but O.D seemed the most obvious as castlevania dracula reference).

Yooka’s Impossible Lair is a good DKC game that’s not DKC. But wish it embraced it more. I hate the way they talk. I didn’t grow up with Banjo and think some of the choices don’t hold up.

Now I'm genuinely excited for you to tackle the handheld Castlevanias, as I've been playing all of them over the last summer because Bloodstained put me in the mood for them. Aria of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin are absolute gems.

Best game ever and im not too picky loved it playing on the switch will be trying it on the ps4 next.

The handheld Castlevanias! They are amazing and would be great for a marathon. I played all the GBA and DS igavanias back in 2018 and didnt get tired playing them back to back. Even played Dawn and Aria more than once during that time.

I've been playing this on Switch and yes it could run smoother but I'm still having a lot of fun with it; my aim is too get every shard and I'm past the halfway point. "Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night" is my first real dive into Metroidvania's as a whole and it's leaving a great impression for the genre.
In that case you should try Symphony of the Night and Aria of Sorrow, they're top notch. Harmony of Dissonance is okay.
I have problems with DS emulator so I can't say too much about those games but I recommend all of them, just remember to download a Seal patch for Dawn of Sorrow ROM to save you some trouble.
I do have this game to thank for allowing me to get the big 4 IGAVANIAS out of the way. My favorite being Order of Ecclesia.

I expected Mighty No.9 quality, I'm happy to say this game is amazing.
Given that Igarashi is considered the grandfather of the sub genre Metroidvania, I knew I was in for a treat. As soon as the game launched I had my copy ready.
As a backer of both, this one is definitely the one to get.

Bought this on launch day for the Switch. Only two complaints. The old lady food quests and the lag on the twin towers area. Lag has been fixed years ago.
It’s a lot of fun to play in handheld mode too, no regrets, and still play it today.
I love this game. Got the platinum trophy. One of my favorite of the year. And this year is no slouch. Etrian Nexus, Persona Q2, Fire Emblem. We've been spoiled for quality.

Well personally one of my favourite metroidvania games is Touhou Luna Nights. I haven’t even played a single touhou but it’s a bloody amazing game for dirt cheap on steam. Anyone else looking for a game similar to this should definitely check it out

I for one LOVED creating each and every food recipe, thanks to a little trick i picked up.
A lot of the times a recipe calls for a sauce or some other ingredient that is made from several other ingredients HOWEVER, once you make said sauce or superingredient, Dominique starts SELLING that ingredient for gold. Then you can just ask Johannes to dismantle that sauce back into it's original components, thus removing the need to grind quite a few of the things neccesary later on.

Yes it is, and u can get that by farming the gear off the shovel knight enemies.
The 3D games have gotten far less exposure, as a fan of the series, I'd really like more people to learn about them, everyone has seen the 2D games already.
