    In La Jota Paragua one can clearly see the heavy Castillian influence in this Filipino Jota version- the ruffled dresses and the mantons. Such a very beautiful dance indeed.

      Isn't it a dance from Palawan? It looks so Hispanic indeed. I thought a dance like this would've originated in Manila or something.

      @@TeaDrinker-eq3md it is from Palawan but it is very Flamenco influenced. Paragua means umbrella in Spanish

      @@TeaDrinker-eq3md The name "Jota Paragua" might indicate it came from Palawan, but it is actually a dance recorded from Zamboanga.
