Haha the "no strain no gain" isn't applicable on guitar..there's ALWAYS a way around chord shapes :)

Hey! You are welcome, yes there is a big difference in sound and you can't put in a G major 7 chord in every song that contains a G major..I would go ahead and learn the 4 finger G, hope this helps!
