    Now this is the best ecoboost exhaust on youtube. I have a 2018 STX 4x4 supercrew with the 2.7L ecoboost.
    I can't run a catless downpipe in my state (NC) so a downpipe with highflow cats is what I have to run with. These will feed into a larger y-pipe and I will keep the factory muffler without the resonators. Hopefully Mine will sound as nice as yours.
    While I'm here do your tires rub? I intend to run 275/65R20's on the factory wheels when I am done.

    • @AD-dw6cb
      @AD-dw6cb  3 года назад +1

      Sounds like it will be a great set up for sure. I just haven’t heard an aftermarket muffler out there I like the sound of. I will say if I could do it over I’d definitely go catted dp. The smell is tolerable without cats but the check engine light has bugged me for 2 years now. I’ve tried no less than 6 O2 extensions to trick ecu but no dice. Also power gains from catless dp are extremely small if any.
      Tires are nitto ridge grappler 285/65/20 (34.6” x 11.2”) and do not rub whatsoever. I do have Bilstein 5100 (ride height adjustable) shocks as well as a 1” strut spacer which give me about 2.75” of lift up front. Another thing I will be doing over soon.. smaller/lighter tires. These luggers are 64# a piece and cost me 2mpg, 30-40whp and not to mention the rough ride and wear and tear on drivetrain. Many guys don’t care about that stuff though and 4 years ago neither did I lol.

    • @AD-dw6cb
      @AD-dw6cb  Год назад +1

      I suspect two reasons, first and most important this vid was recorded in my driveway in between my and my neighbor’s house creating somewhat of an echo effect. Second is MPT’s 93 PRX tune which I haven’t been able to afford to run in 2 years. The exhaust notes were a bit more aggressive and throaty on that tune.

I got an 87 economy, 93 performance/towing and a 93 racing they call “PRX”. The 93 PRX makes the truck feel like an entirely different vehicle. @@erikkarlovetz1935 I’m honestly not sure as there are many variables from truck to truck. I do know the connecting rods on the 2011-2016 ecoboosts seem to be a weak link. Personally know 3 people who threw rods clean out the side of the block. 2 were running SSi tunes (whatever their race tune is) and one was running a Preaux tune (local shop in south Louisiana). To my knowledge, MPT hasn’t had any motors detonate on their tunes. I have run their PRX race tune for about 40K miles with no issues.

      Unfortunately Nick, I’ve had a CEL on for the better part of 3yrs now. I’ve tried a number of O2 sensor adapters/extensions such as the 90 degree elbows but to no avail, CEL always returns in time. My advice to everyone running 93-87 octane is to go with a catted downpipe to reduce the risk of this issue as well as intolerable exhaust fumes. Power gains from catless dp are negligible anyway.
      If anyone reading knows a solution to clearing CEL from a catless downpipe on the 3.5 ecoboost I’d greatly appreciate any suggestions.
