the whole key is to start obs screen capture then minimize obs which is still running and choose what you want to see on the screen that will be recorded---for example , a youtube video from your favorite channel . I think that SPELLING out that you must MINIMIZE obs while it is in recording mode is necessary for comprehension ! I believe you are the first video on this that pointed that out .

I'm using OBS for recording only no need for streaming, but as soon as open the OBS start streaming or message show up : "could not access the specificed channel or stream key, double check your stream key....... .to the server". Can I disable streaming so that no message appears ?

When recording screen showing Amazon prime stream video, is it expected that recording will have black-out video frame, not showing video?
It is. It’s due to DRM, it’s there to protect their content.

I did that and it just shows a black blank background in OBS, and doesn't preview like yours does? using windows 10
Try again from the beginning following all the steps. My mom said the same thing but on the second try she got it 😊
