The first 30 seconds of the video helped me with my problem. I kept getting a blank screen when trying to record gameplay but once I ran as administrator everything worked fine!

im tired of all of these obs guides completely forgetting that AMD cards exist, so here are some good output settings for an amd card.
Encoder: H264/AVC Encoder (AMD Advanced Media Framework)
Preset: Recording
Quality Present: Balanced
Rate Control Method: Variable Bitrate
Target Bitrate: 35000
Peak Bitrate: 50000
Keyframe Interval: 2
these are just the best settings for my pc that i found. my gpu is an rx 570 and my cpu is an intel core i5 3470, and using these recording settings, it doesnt take too much fps off of my games. The amount of data that will be used for these settings is 3 MB per second of recording. hope this helps, finding good amd settings is annoying because people forget that amd cards even exist when making obs tutorials lol.

a tip that helped me a lot: when i record on OBS and using fractional FPS value, you can change whatever FPS you want from 120 up to 480 (your choice and if your pc/laptop can handle it) but after or before recording, turn off the preview so while you are recording you wont feel the screen lag.
If you know please tell me how to add devices that use USB on PC! I accidentally disabled them not knowing what I was doing and I'm not sure how to add them back, I'm about to go crazy 😧

Bit of a heads up: I ran into issues with recording my microphone audio. I was clearly getting levels in OBS, but wasn't hearing the mic audio when I played it back. I was reviewing the clips in VLC media player, and that program only seems to play one audio track at a time. So, if you run into this issue, just right click the playback screen in VLC, go to Audio and select Track 2, and you can check your Mic audio as well.
Not sure if this is the same for other players.

I tried recording and EVERYTHING was not working! I couldn't click anything. I can't see the game, I could only hear the audio. I followed EVERY instruction, I did EXACTLY what you said, and NOTHING! What gives??

Sweet! I didn't know that about remux -- I'd just been transforming files from MKV to MP4 in handbrake.
@@SPPACATR he said if your computer crashes in mp4 you will loose the whole file where as with MKV it saved up till its crashed 👍🏻

All of the audio is saved in the mkv/mp4 container file along with the video.

Hi, I'm having a specific issue that other people seem to have been having elsewhere, so I know it's not just me. I am trying to record a game but the window itself has some black bars. These black bars are all of different sizes when I click on the application and see the red adjustment outline. I used to be able to just increase the size of the window and fit to transform like in your video but it doesn't work anymore. Any tips? Thank you!

@@HazzaBruh Right click on window capture under the source menu, click properties, and in capture method select the operating system your computer is running on. This is how I did it. Hope it works!

Probably the best tutorial while trying to figure out my mess right now however it does not help it's not your fault it's the fact that clearly filmora does not support multiple track with obs I got a massive headache cuz I've been trying to research this with no answers for the last 3 to 5 hours Plus I paid £30 for filmora and I feel like I have made a mistake even though it is a good software
