It was so much fun making this video. We pulled over into a rest area right after Kicking Horse pass on Hwy1 and then ran down to the river bank to find a great spot to shoot. We had to move quick before the guitar and Aidan and Dan's voices froze up. Unfortunately, the first take, which was awesome... was broken by a CN Rail truck (a pickup with rail car wheels) noisily speeding by on the railway tracks across the river. If the camera angle had captured it, probably would have kept it in!

I'm so surprised that this doesn't have thousands of views. Even if you've never heard of these guys before, this song and those voices and that CBC toque just pull you in and make it impossible to stop watching.
I was at the Calgary Folk Fest secretly hoping that Aidan would come out and play this epic song with Dan, sadly that didn't happen but it was still a stellar weekend!
I'm not Canadian. My Canadian best friend whom I met while I was in Australia introduced me to Dan Mangan late 2010. I'm actually South East Asian and I've never set foot in Canada, but this song calls to me so much.
Here over 10 years after this had been posted originally. Loved it then, love it now. It's aged like a fine fine imperial stout poured out for you on a cold winter's day.
