The real reason Mango is visiting CERN is actually for him to teach them how to optimize their operation. Gonna show them how to zero-tick the Higg's Boson.
LMAO 🤣🤣🤣
Teach them how to control quantum tunneling by update supressing
They haven´t realized, too many mobs around cern for the particles to be observed properly.
He's going there cause they're having lag issues
"Now make sure you use nether brick fence and Only nether brick fence when updating the collider. other wise you'll create a black hole, and that would be bad. Yeahh."
Wait, Oreo‘s big pants crafting, the thing that‘s been held over him for years, is useful now? The world‘s crazy.
oreo knew!
Oreo's brain is so big that parts of it are outside render distance
Wait why did they just make god leggings and not god chestplates shoes and helmets
@@notad___ watch the video if you want an answer, ilmango discusses it at length.
@@notad___ Damage reduction caps at 80% on a specific type (projectile etc.) having protection IV on helmets boots and leggings plus level IV of all the specific types on just one piece, the leggings, hits that 80% cap on damage reduction. Plus chest plate slot is generally occupied by elytras.

And they say Germans have no sense of humour. Lol
lmao just commented that too
lol. I don't think Mojang wanted it. It's probably Microsoft mandating it.
ah chat reporting, a mechanic so stupid not even Gnembon can make it work
Stuff like the 4x4 challenge or the Blitz series were truly amazing, but it's so great to the see the main series again after it's long break!
Didn't Gnembon make a video about the optimal way of adding enchantments to gear? He was able to apply over 30 enchantments before hitting the survival enchantment level cap, so you should be fine with the god armour as long as you don't apply enchantments one by one
Yes, this, exactly this.
I think they probably just wanted to do it quickly though, especially considering the immense number of leggings they had to enchant.
I hate it when people dont enchantment there armour correctly
Someone made a program that shows the cheapest ways to add certain enchants and it’s not possible to make maxed boots
but the extra protection doesn't really add up the leggings is enough already methodz mango and skyrising checked it and didn't really matter to add more enchanments.
For being able to trade essentially indefinitely with villagers, that must be what happened to Ethoslab. On his single player world he has villagers he can trade rotten flesh without them ever locking.
yeah, he's explained it in the past
lol, I was just thinking about Cheatho too!
@@Protofall cheatho? What did he do lmao
@@partywumpus5267 No, not Etho. The villager is called cheatho or something similar.
@@Protofall oh right lmao, I guess I must have missed some of his vids
Why am i not surprised a SciCrafter works at CERN? I've been on a tour there once, can only recommend it!
As of right now I think the “too expensive” thing was a feature added before they added more enchantments, with more enchantments you’ll have to pick and choose enchants, kind of.
Which means it could and should have been removed ages ago ^^
@@racernatorde5318 very true
You dont really. Go through the table furst and then supplement, partly combining books beforehand and u good.
@@samaurel6619 exactly why the “kind of”
@@DarkChaosMC I see. Apologies for misunderstanding.
I love that after like a year and a half mango just goes back to uploading scicraft like it was 3 days lol
Ahh, that finally explains why a lot of people with upgraded villagers had so many trades per day after upgrading to 1.14. I know Etho at least has one of those so called "cheaty" villagers and was wondering if he should still use it.
I remember the 1.14.0 release, rough times indeed.
Pretty crazy to finally see this world update - can't wait to see what's planned!
Yeah, he keeps saying "1.14", when what he actually means is specifically the version of 1.14 that had the ability to apply multiple protections to a single piece of armor. Later versions of 1.14 fix the villager trading issues he's complaining about, but they don't let you do the thing they wanted to do in 1.14. It confused me at first, until I thought it through.
Why am I not surprised someone in SciCraft works at CERN?
Exhausted all the ways they could hack minecraft to make better farms so they started hacking the universe (ultimately to make better farms of course)
same
You actually don't need to get the unbreaking 3 bc evels get too expensive if an item has been in the anvil too often, so if you put every enchant on it by itselves you will need to put the item in the anvil very often. The most efficient way of doing it is actually first put one enchantment on the boots, then combine two books and put them on the boots, then combine two books two times and put them together, then you put the book(with no 4 enchants) on the boots and so on
the problem is that you can't combine the different types of protection, since the effects won't stack if placed on the same book
lol heeyyyy I recognize this guy
So excited you're recording SciCraft episodes again!!!
The OP viligers have been named as ChEato after Etho discoverd them in his LP
I wish you a good time at CERN ;-) These facilities cannot be visited normally, especially when the LHC is running (if you see the LHC or any of the main experiments, even though it is running, I can tell you that you are very priviledged and that Ragou is actually a high-ranked guy XD)
Im honestly so glad scicraft is coming back. Its honeslty the best place to learn how to play minecraft. The breakthroughs you guys make, make survival playable. Like you need insane efficient farms to build massive things and thats exactly what you guys do. Its a shame people dont find it as entertaining as i do and go watch hermitcraft or something instead. Becuase you guys are so underrated. I know your just having fun breaking the game but still you deserve much more credit than you get. Your name popped up so much in season 8 of hermit craft is was honestly funny.
That is why Doc is my favorite hermit
27:19 *ilmango:* Here for some reason we have a lot of baby villagers, but there is not a bed anywhere close by.
*Me:* Aren't those babies jumping on beds?
I remember when Ilmango called 1.14 one big snapshot years ago. It's easy to see why! 1.15's bug fix update was much needed.
Do you think Gnembon will ever join us again in the server?
no. too busy adding chat reporting to the game
this wasn't Mojang's decision
@@Jokaahh I know
@@Jokaahh stop acting like mojang isn't to blame for this. they're not the innocent indie studio that can do no wrong that you guys want to paint them as.
Ooh finally an explanation for Ethos’s cheaty villagers
Etho explained it though.
ilmango you might need to restore your ender chests from backup, to get those items with metadata
CERN was a blast! (of particles hitting each other)
Mango: villagers aren't supposed to breed without a bed nearby...
Life: *finds a way*
man this really makes you wonder how 1.14 was allowed to release in the state it was.
like technical farming being laggier i could get but the deletion of items in chests? why wasn't that fixed?
It was 1.13 that caused the lag
Fair but still, what's the point in pre releases when they don't even fix general performance or fix major bugs between versions?
Glitches can be annoying but I'd rather the game be as glitchy as bedrock if it means frame rate isn't tanked between versions.
You can combine way more enchantments than can go on any item just by doing it in the right order; the "too expensive" problem is only a problem if you do it wrong.
Just imagine a binary tree where the item and all of the books are the leaves, and nodes represent combining; this way, you don't waste the potential of items and books which haven't been used in an anvil as many times as the item or book it's combined with.
I've also seen a lot of people do this wrong though, or be wrongly informed / didn't think that hard, by first combining all of the books and then trying to put that onto an item; this halves the number of enchantments you can add at least (the item itself should be part of the tree) but also adding the base cost of adding all those enchantments at once instead of only half of them, you aren't even able to add half the potential enchantments.
The easy way to think about it is: every item keeps track of how many times it's been used in an anvil. When you combine two items, it takes the highest of the two, and adds 1. If one of those items is lower than the other, then it could have been used in an anvil more times without changing this final number, hence it is partly wasted.
He literally made a video on it three years ago. I'm sure he's aware.
@@TravelingStacker Gnembon made that.
@@Joker-fj8hg And Ilmango made one too.
@@MattTacc That shouldn't be a problem; you just have to put the protection enchantments at the correct places in the tree, and you can easily have only 1 protection per book and complete the armour in 4 combination levels, or 3 combination levels if you enchant the armour first to get one of the protection 4s done without an anvil.
Consider this example of a helmet:
Enchant a helmet with protection 4.
Combine helmet with fire prot 4 book.
Combine proj prot 4 book with unb 3 book.
Combine helmet with proj prot 4, unb 3 book.
Combine blast prot 4 book with mending book.
Combine resp 3 book with aqua affinity book.
Combine blast prot 4, mending book with resp 3, aqua affinity book.
Combine helmet with blast prot 4, mending, resp 3, aqua affinity book.
The helmet is only used 3 times in the anvil and the level 1 enchantments are left until the end for cheaper final combination.
@@MattTacc exactly, and that's really the best way to do it. Just reenchant the item until you get a lot of enchantments. But even in the worst case it's not that hard.
If I remember correctly, the NBT Data from the villagers used to store the total amount of trades and then an update set the total amount of trades to its limit.
Breeding didnt require a bed, it required the villager to have slept the last night
by upgrading the villagers, they probably got the hasSlept tag set to true by default which later becomes false when the next night passes
this is later changed to check if there are enough unused beds nearby for all villagers nearby
Nice progress I wish we could do that on our server but we only started in 1.18
Lets goooooo, more scicraft content! Ive been watching Jorvp's streams thanks for condensing all the content and what happens in your videos!
In 1.14 there is an xp farm called quantum ticking or something like that. It works similar to zero tick. But i think its better . There is couple of videos on youtube
the server is already on 1.19
The shaking sand farms? I remember those, but I thought they were the same speed?
you mean the one where they use sand on top of boats and the sand both registers as entity and block at the same time? effectively giving instant 0 ticks
villager trading really is awful in 1.14+. Instead if one or 2 good villagers, you now need to keep 15 of each type around to trade a decent amount per day. Bad for lag, and really takes the fun out of breeding villagers to get the best trades when any villager can be anything you want
21:20 god damn Gnembon got roasted in chat lol
You can dupe entities with the chunk overload dupe so if you want you could clone those villagers by putting them into minecarts and sending them out of the chunk while it's overloaded
fixed in 1.15
The "Too Expensive!" issue can easily be avoided! You just need to combine your enchantments in a different order.
Instead of adding enchantments like this:
(((((((1 + 1) + 1) + 1) + 1) + 1) + 1) + 1)
You should add them like this:
(((1 + 1) + (1 + 1)) + ((1 + 1) + (1 + 1)))
In this visualization, the amount of consecutive brackets you see at the beginning basically determines how expensive the final output will be.
Using this method it's possible to stack up to 30 theoretical enchantments onto a single item.
YES! Anvil uses is such an unknown mechanic. I was only introduced to it when playing Hypixel Skyblock, which adds many custom enchants.
They can't just do that because they're combining different prot enchants; ie if they put them on a book, the game would select just one to apply to the leggings - that feature didn't go anywhere - they can only apply the prot enchants directly, one at a time, to the pants.
They have to add each protection enchantment separately, which brings up the xp significantly. The scicraft players are infinitely more knowledgeable about the game than we are, no reason to doubt them on something like this.
@@juliancosta7626 nah this worked I'm really surprised they weren't aware of this feature especially since it has uses in all versions even after god armour
@@Harry-uo2cr They are definitely aware, Gnembon even has a Video about it
I think if I was building forward like this I'd have tried to get a few villagers with good diamond armor trade for each piece, but after that, just rely on dupe glitches to make lots of copies of the armor.
We had god armor in a previous playthrough. We are going to cheat some in. We are using vanilla tweaks. We may use the villager trade customizer to make a villager who will sell them. Cheaty, yes, but we figure we did it once to prove we can do it.
It's only really cheating if you're dishonest about how you do it. Otherwise, it's all just in good fun.
Really cool that yall are updated. Sorry that everything broke but hopefully some amazing things come from updating.
You can greatly lessen the amount of levels required for especially boots by looking for specific combinations out of the Enchanting table and combining the boots rather than books.
Blast Protection and Depth Strider should be the priority for this. I don't think you can get both at max level on a single enchant but if you can get say, Blast Prot and Unbreaking or Depth Strider and Unbreaking, you'll massively reduce the enchantment cost.
they mostly avoid that enchanments takes more XP and time. the OP leggings is already OP for the armor if you add more enchanments on other pieces its not gonna stack and just stay the same
Of course Ragou works at cern lmao.
Scicraft is on the frontier of mine-craft physics and real physics
Hey ilmango, idk if u have already looked at this or not but there’s a method of creating god armor including soul speed in a tutorial by eagle eye 621. You can fully create god armor in 1.14 and then add soul speed without a “too expensive”.
the leggings is already enough for the protection.. it wont stack up if you add up more in other pieces. so they have more options in the newer versions if new enchanments are added
@@apPaulpie I heard, that’s not what I was talking about. + the leggings only max you out on a particular form of protection, and not all of them at once
@@apPaulpie also the new enchants have been tested on old god armor, and if you do it right it is easily possible
@@gassandrid Can you explain what you meant by a particular form and not all of them? Your explanation sounds different than other comments I read on this video, though it's probably just because I don't understand enchantments that well.

20:00 immediately started trying to make zero tick farms after updating LOL absolutely love it!
For anyone wondering the numbers, here's the percentage of damage you take under the given circumstances (assuming diamond/netherite + as much prot as possible):
Normal w/ elytra: 18.72% - 45.34%
Normal w/ chestplate: 7.2% - 30.24%
God w/ elytra: 7.2% - 17.44%
God w/ chestplate: 4% - 16.8%
A couple notes, the ranges are because armor is coded to be less effective against stronger sources of damage. So for normal w/ chestplate, you'll take ~7.4% of the damage from getting normal punched, and ~30% of the damage from a point blank charged creeper. Also, god armor's bonus only applies to explosions, fires, and projectiles. Things like melee and magic would use the normal stats instead. It's also worth mentioning that this means god armor has no advantage against a warden.
And for anyone curious, here are the amounts of (incoming, unreduced) damage required to achieve the worst case reduction, anything more will still use the worst case and anything less can be linearly interpolated:
Diamond w/ elytra: 67.2
Netherite w/ elytra: 81.6
Diamond w/ chestplate: 96
Netherite w/ chestplate: 120
wow i already forgot that 0 tick farms were a thing. litteraly every farm had it lmao
I'm really glad the upcoming activity on scicraft motivates new to play on the server again ! This was not a sure thing
Don't forget to make some God-Tier Gold Bartering Helmets to go with your 1.14 Armor. Also, since you only need 3 of the lesser Protection Enchantments, a single piece of Protection IV Armor can be substituted to get Prot IV on all 4 pieces. I also have a God-Tier Turtle Helmet, but this is almost worthless as there is better armor available, and you only gain an additional 10 seconds of Air to breathe. And reverting your World back to 1.14.2 may result in the loss of friendly Mobs and Villagers, so make back-ups to be safe.
The only god armor they made was leggings, they are on 1.19 now.
just casually going to cern, lemmie know if you see any magnetic interferometers xd
How else would one go besides casually? Are you supposed to jump up and down like a tard?
Not just future enchantments ilmango, keep in mind the way they designed the SmithingTable, it seems they intend to make it a fork in the upgrade path, where you can eventually add various special ingots with their own advantages to the armors and weapons, not just Netherite. Whether they've given up on this already, idk, I personally hope not, I was really looking forward to some variety in endgame armor besides just the enchantments we've placed on it. Next End update I'd imagine dropped equipment that floats at or above y=0, making it immune to being consumed by the void, on top of making the armor lighter than diamond (I know realistically you're Adding mass to it with the upgrade, but game mechanics have already handwaved gravity for most blocks). And fingers crossed they'll allow us to enhance our shulker boxes with it as well (Netherite Shulkers = immune to lava, End or Aetherite Shulkers = Immune to Void, etc.). Also, lighter tools likely mean faster recharge times, trades off damage per hit for damage per second. Shame though, was hoping the overworld would get Titanium, and Titanium's advantage is that it's lighter than most metals while withstanding similar or same forces and environments.
18:50 Hey Ilmango! Are you going to release a separate tutorial for this new, innovative bamboo farm?!
That feeling when you update and your storage has a ton of things missing. At least you can work around chunk restoring, never tried that in SSP though.
I think 1.14 ish was ome of the worse to run and I could only play it somewhat with OPTIFINE and very customised settings in the old PotatoComputer
Thanks for the video, I love how the video is causally ended by saying your visiting cern
Great to see more scicraft, looking forward to new streams!
You remember you use mob switchs ? you'll never see a creeper...
The only use case for projectile protection and blast protection is when you disable mob switch or when you work close to tnt dupers. x)
we have a special mob that can spawn at any time its called ragou and he loves his bow.

I was wondering why some of my legacy villagers had basically unlimited trades and others didn't. I guess the extremely high level explains it. Probably depends on how often they were traded with before upgrading.

Been waiting for almost forever for this moment. Btw love your vids and the content that all of the scicraft members post.
wasn't villager breeding done with doors in 1.14? or was that earlier?
ilmango doesnt know about proper enchantment patterns. 2-4-8! Combine two books each, then combine those to books with 4 enchantments etc. always the more expensive book in the left slot of the anvil. the boots (or tool etc) counts as a book as well in this calculation, but can only be in the left slot of the anvil
Seeing as he made a video about it a long time ago, I'm sure he knows.
@@TravelingStacker As i know mango, he has long forgotten. I don't think he often needs to enchant anything

that Oreo spend so much diamonds on leggings is so funny😅
in 1.9 or 1.8 you coud get a bow with mending and infinety do you have that?
ofc they do
One question. Are you going stop in 1.18, or prior, to get some sliced portals (through the rail update supresor)?

thats what heppens to old villagers, im surprised that you didnt know that
Deepslate coal is rare, but the real rare one is deepslate emerald ore in 1.18 plus. Gonna be hard to get a double chest of that.
that's the main reason why they didn't go in 1.18 they really just want to play in the current versions getting those will be a bottleneck in their progress
You guys need 162 netherite blocks to upgrade all the leggings
18:37 ultimate definition of SciCraft lol 😅
Wouldn’t it be better to use enchant cracking rather than op villagers?
Of course a SciCraft member works at CERN lol
How much of a pain is going to be a double chest of deepslate emerald ore
they didn't do that they just get the coal ore in 1.17.1... staying on some unstable versions is really boring for them... now they jump right into 1.19 working at a 1k x 1k block perimeter for the new storage
@@apPaulpie 1.17 isn't 'some unstable version'.
aren't looted pieces of armor from things like end cities at the base xp value? like for example a piece of boots with mending, unbreaking, and protection you could put on fire protection and it would be the same as putting fire protection on a pair of unenchanted boots
