God watching Sci Craft is so fun because they say things like "falling blocks can only be stored on Block 36" and I just nod along even though that is nothing but word salad to me.
Lol
Yea, just when I thought I was starting to understand their explanations they pull things like this 😅
@@admchin fax
Lmao
Block 36 is the piston extension block. The thing that stores a block while it is being moved by a piston. Of course they managed to place these without needing a piston to be moving.
Falling blocks will convert into their actual blocks when they land. Apparently block 36 prevents this, so you can keep a falling block entity stationary without converting it into a regular block.
"i should probably resupply my end portal frames" - words rarely heard in vanilla survival multiplayer
probably a brand new sentence
Yeah I loved that, the sheer casualness with which he dispenses with that INSANE sentence. Meh, for the SciCrafters, reality-breaking is everyday.
JKM: "I established a link between real life and minecraft."
ilmango: "mhmm, okay"
"yeah it's too long to go here so we gonna do some end gate manipulation"
transition
"so theres command blocks as falling blocks"
Just another day on the Scicraft server. And another mind break for everyone watching.
Do we have an episode of how they got those?
@@leakingamps2050 JKM has a video on his channel about it
At first, i thought "what", just to realize, there is flawed code behind all features of Minecraft😏
and structure blocks
16 months later "hey every one, welcome to another sci-craft episode"
It makes sense. He went across the map so fast that the space time continuum was bent, resulting in him being sent into the future.
this realisation made me laugh~
May 2021… holy heck! long time ago.
The journey to obtain barriers and command blocks in survival was indeed very long. But perhaps the real falling block was the friends we made along the way.
With the scale of their builds I am not surprised it takes months
"So basically, uh, yeah, the piston pulled an end gateway, because we tricked it into doing it."
I love this game.
Good to see you, Jet Lag!
Lol it was an amazing description
Holy it's the legendary Etho commenter!
Mojang: "Ok, we can't make a world infinite, but how big should it be?"
"Let's make it 60 mil x 60 mil. That is so big players will never reach the limits and it will feel infinite."
Scicraft: "We can get to any location in any dimension within 20 seconds."
and this is why we need 64 bit worlds
@@MuzikBike Ah, of course. Making it an entire minute to cross the dimensions and locations!
That honestly is such a broken and powerful statement to make that it should be part of a motto for sci craft lol
@@andreyrumming6842 the limit for a 32 bit integer is x/y 2.15 billion, but a 64 bit one is 9.22 *quintillion*. Its more than 41 million times larger. So it'd be waaaaaay more than a doubling....
@@MuzikBike Do we really though? It's not like Scicraft ran out of space to work with, they just went to the border to flex. For the 99.999% of players who haven't traveled to the world border in survival, the world already is effectively infinite.
at 27:15 jkm sounded so enthusiastic and proud while proclaiming his new innovation only for mango hit him with the most unimpressed “hm, alright” i’ve ever heard lmao. poor jkm :(
“Rainbow road? Is it for pride month.”
“No, it’s for transporting the falling blocks”
And maybe some Kart racing if there's time.
@@kyltredragmire4939 "We decided to do a kart race on the rainbow road, so the game will think that we are racing but we actually aren't so the game will give us 1 million diamond blocks"

I thought it was Bifrost
@@Turalcar It kinda is. It's a rainbow path to transport things from earth space/the end.
You should bring on Bdubs for a SciCraft special guest tour so he can survey your redstone and tell you what you did wrong.
Yes lol
Bdubs is to powerful with his perfect redstone prowess
We joke about it but he's honestly pretty good at this point
@@RisingRevengeance All the more reason for him to critique Sci-Craft's Redstone. Has Etho ever been on this server? I know Mumbo has. I assume Doc has.
@@kyltredragmire4939 doc already has been on scicraft server, he made a video years ago
I like how excited jkm is about this and ilmango just says "mhm" "alright" "thanks for explaining", poor jkm
I knoooow right
I feel like mango zoned out for a second or something? It was an odd response
18:11 The contrast here, oh my god. Manipulating the game to basically tear the universe at its seams and then immediately falling prey to the most basic Minecraft issue of forgetting to bring wood with you. I had to pause the video I was laughing so hard.
Edit: 23:56 too. Having to relog because you looked at an enderman, then casually building a vertical end portal.
Sometimes I forget they're human too 😂
“Oh yeah, we can just place an end portal to get back” is something you only hear on scicraft
and kiwi tech
I have never actively watched scicraft, just the world tours now and then. Now, you casually walk by falling commandblocks, teleport millions of blocks with nether portal magic, bend anything that has ever thought about teleporting players to your will.
My mind is blown. Tons of respect to everyone who helped figure this stuff out.
Getting anywhere in the world in 20s is pretty damn cool.
Better make some links to strategic locations before it becomes impossible.
Other people: the end void is dangerous!
Scicraft: big area!
"no reason to put the maps here; we just think it's a neat space"
Sometimes I feel like you guys are playing a different game than us mere mortals 😅
More like everytime
Basically we are playing a game where we break rocks, they are playing a game where they break the laws of physics.
It's like cave men vs the quantum age lol.
@@lm-oi1ke usually I listwn to them explain something and it kind of makes sense in my head. This time it was mostly complete gibberish I just had to accept because there was no way for me to understand it.
@@outandabout259 I see survival command blocks and falling portals and my mind is lost ...on an island of stupid ...
No, it's the same game. But they've bribed the referees.
The amount of cursed minecraft things in this video is insane! Keep it up mango!
mango’s the spectator here. keep it up jkm!
Its been a looooong time since an actual Scicraft episode. Great to see it!
There we go! Totally worth the long wait for this next episode... and super hyped about the update of course!
Scicraft is feeling more like creative mode every episode.
Its gone beyond creative mode at this point
"Is it for pride month?"
"No, it's for transporting command blocks."
6:35 nothing weird here just casually command blocks and structure blocks as falling block entities.
I would love to know how they even got them as falling blocks in the first place, anyone know?

holy shit ampora??????
Omg homestuck
@@aaaaaaaaaaaa9023 ?What's Homestuck?
It becomes evident how far you've come when you use an ender pearl to jump a single block higher instead of just placing a single block.
I laughed too ahaha 19:40
I have noticed with several high-level players that they seem to develop an aversion to placing blocks when they arent making a build. Like the time that Grian "got stuck" in Docm77's pit. When he was presently in possession of a pickaxe.
Laziness, I tell you, the sickness of affluenza.
@@michaelcherokee8906 On hermitcraft it's probably an unwritten rule to try and not break other people's builds with a pickaxe. Otherwise any vaults would become useless, and minigames would have to be designed way more.
@@tanish6641 Are you even aware of the context? Cause Grian was in the middle of a millions block large ragged walled pit, not only would he have broken nothing to have mined some tuff from one of the walls to get back up, doc wouldnt even have ever noticed.
I wish you'd go over how you guys got command blocks, block 36, end portal frames, etc... Last I remember, you had a way to drop bedrock in ep 157, but I don't remember you detailing anything further with this tech.
Check out JKMs channel
@@enkvadrat_ is there a link to that here?
The scicrafters do have details on these things. They're just not always on mangos channel
"lemme use these command blocks here in survival minecraft, here, take these end portal frames; Btw, do you have any WOOD ?"
So basically Sci did in 1 day what Proto did in months for the world border, falling blocks are so op gg !!
the way we (mainly 0x) did it on PT was significantly harder in many ways though, and of course far more time consuming! very glad there is an easy way to do it now though!
@@Nooticus yeah its cool and sad at the same time ...
Once again, SciCraft is breaking my brain in the best way possible. Simply amazing.
You guys are pretty much the scholars of technical Minecraft. Publishing videos showcasing mechanics that normal players like me would never dream of. Your videos keep me up to date with stuff to sound like a snob to my friends and I thank you for that!
This is incredible omg
"don't worry about misplacing those END PORTAL blocks, I got spare in my ender chest"
Scicraft is the only project where I'm not surprised when there is no video for a long time, just because of the scale of every project
Half an hour of mango 🥭, absolutely fantastic
You should definitely expand the network, with a gateway every 500000-1000000 blocks or so apart.
you could quicktravel the entire world in 20 seconds, thats the biggest flex i could imagine.
(also maybe useful in future?)
The ingenuity in combining multiple glitches is amazing. Storing and cloning glitched falling block entities, deleting entire chunks on a whim, tricking the game into making teleporter blocks to arbitrary locations, deleting the annoying bedrock structure surrounding said teleporter blocks. All combined to create the single most OP transportation system yet.
Block 36 is a technical block used to store piston data. If you somehow get your hands on it, it has many weird properties.
-entities can go through it
-liquid will flow on top of it
-gravity blocks will stay on top of it if they are placed directly on top of it, but not if they fall through it
-mobs will not path-find through it (idk if that's true in this version though, cuz I did see that one enderman on the rainbow road)
And, most importantly:
-if block 36 is on top of a solid block, and something falls into it, it will simply never land and instead remain permanently falling.
And no I have NO idea how they got it lol
I tried explaining to my wife what the SciCraft guys do....about halfway through I realized I sounded crazy....so I just stopped...
4:08
If you look at the noisemap section in the F3 menu, you can see that many of the values become NaN.
I think there is some bug in the noise generator that causes invalid values, which make the terrain suddenly dissapear.
That's just speculation though.
Absolute mad lads, been hearing a lot about falling blocks lately but idk if I’ll ever get used to seeing command blocks in survival😅
I'm so happy we're getting a new SciCraft episode. I loved the other series you did but this is just the OG one xD
When your sat watching and just nodding along like you understand!
yeah, I feel like the dog that is watching people have sex. It's interesting but I have no idea what is going on.
@@victorelfring we would say you hit the nail on the head but these guys would build cthulu generator just to hit the nail into another dimension
Just another day on the Scicraftserver, dealing with command blocks, building portals, and tricking a piston into pulling an end gate way!
How long has it been since the last episode
One year lmao
"The only way to do this is to catch a falling nether portal"
Uh huh... uh huh.... just one thing....
WTF you lot smoking? O_o
You don't need to smoke anything when you're doing falling block
You dont need mere chemicals to achieve the same wavelength these guy are at. They are at a whole new level
half of falling block was done high as fuck
My puny pvp brain just got absolutely boggled by this episode. Y'all are amazing, and thank you for sharing your massive intellect adventures with us.
16 months pass between episodes, and the first thing seen in the newest one is Astolfo map art. Perfection.
How did i randomly just stumble upon your video out of nowhere just 9 minutes after upload lol i didn't even get the notification, i just searched for ilmango and managed to catch it
It's a math thing - the way the End generates is in circles that increase by factors, causing more and more space between rings. I'm math dumb and can't explain it better than that, but there's info out there if you web search for it. 😊
Can't wait to see the server tour!
Yoooo finally another scicraft episode!! Im so hyped for the update! So heres a comment for the algorithm!
Omg that astolfo map art is my fave
SCICRAFT LETS GOOOO
I was gonna say that youre gonna fall into the void accsidently while builnding the map art, but I forgot that elytras exist
I could imagine them to use stone generators to fill in the void with a stone plane for easier block placement
That kind of fully available fast travel is absolutely bonkers
Anywhere in any dimension in under 20 sec?? I wish i could download all this sweet data from your brains!
Finally, lets continue with this great series

What's funny is that most people cannot understand to what extent all this is incredible.
I’ve been waiting for this for so long, I can barely contain myself 🤩
27:24 Must’ve been soul crushing for JKM
What a coincidence, I was looking through some of your tutorials thinking damn it;s been a long time since a scicraft episode. Nice.

love watching scicraft
Holy Shit these Hyperlinks are so stupidly amazing
Good stuff from JKM
I love this episode. Amazing! Quality content.
Watching your videos makes me feel like I'm already back to monke
I would like to see these guys apply this extraordinary amount of technical knowledge to doing a speedrun of the game
how does the chunk generating cause an end gateway to be placed on the slimeblock?
From the explanation, I think what happens is that for every seed there are set places where end gateways can generate, so he scouted out the area in a creative world/using a world scanning tool to find where a gateway could generate, then used the setup to manipulate the gateway when it generated
@@sabrel4975 that makes sense, but why is this gateway connected to the one at 1k rather than the main obsidian platform?
@@ultimatepotato713 idk, he just said that moving the portal glitches it and causes it to create a portal instead of teleporting you to the obsidian platform
@@ultimatepotato713 the way i understood it is that the moving of the portal with the piston messes up the nbt data of the portalblock, but i'm not sure how ...
@@darkwise8628 I think it's making the generated one into a gateway like the ones that generate when you kill the dragon?
The end map plans have one disadvantage: if you use the 3D technique there, endermen could deconstruct parts of it. Thankfully they can't pick up blocks in a flat area though.
Pretty sure they have a mobswitch tho

Guess who's back, back again
I love watching this series because they're casually saying "You can't use command blocks or structure blocks in survival" while they're standing next to falling command block entities, and then they go and just BUILD AN END PORTAL and TRICK IT INTO TELEPORTING THEM WHEREVER THEY WANT like, they so casually state their own limitations while breaking the game in 100 different absurd ways
