Perfect tutorial, this is probably the 4th video I’ve watched and this is actually 100% accurate. It worked perfect in my 2020 X5 M50i. The traction button needs to be activated and the other videos said DSC OFF and that never worked in my car! Great job 💪🏼
This was a perfect explanation! I struggled for a while not understanding you cannot gradually press the gas pedal until it’s to the floor! The engagement of the pedal to the floor has to be quick! Otherwise In the RWD models you will begin to light the tires up lol.
Do you need adaptive suspension? I have 330i m sport in uk. Follow all these steps, foot on brake but when I accelerate the car try’s to pull away and grinds the gearbox and brakes and I get no race flag come up?
I noticed that if you put it in M2 (second gear) your turbo really spools up and about 3.5 to 4 RPM leggo…💨 In first gear the wheels like to skurt and my launch isn’t always on point in my experience. Try it and let me know how it went! I’d really like to know.
I do exactly the same thing, I have a BMW M8 coupe and when I release the pedal the rear tires slip a little and then accelerate in launch control and I have 4WD activated, any idea why that's why I try to improve my numbers. I would appreciate some help
@@djw1091994 you have a soft launch, but no official launch control, do the same style launch and your electric will help (you’ll go into eBoost) but you won’t have a “launch control active”

@@BMWofFW I meant to say im in a wheelchair so I use hand controls to use the gas and the break pedals. How would I go about that when it comes to using the launch control.
@@Moe.30 by my limited understanding of all of this, I would think that it would probably be the same set up procedure (put it in sport plus, traction on, etc.) but then as per your situation, I would assume that you would use your hand controls for the brake and then also the gas right after if it is possible for you to use both pedals at the same time with hand controls
Correct. the second you do it will move out of the Launch Mode and into normal manual shifting (you'll see the M designation instead of S indicating Manual instead of Sport shifting). now since you'll be in sport plus the trans will shift faster than if you were in comfort and manual mode anyway. But all in all, Launch Control is there for you so set it and forget it for shifting and soley concentrating on getting down the strip/street AFAP.
Quick question: is the system suppose to give you a notification if you’re in launch mode for the 2019 bmw x4 m40i model? And can u explain if your gas foot should be all the way down along with the break?
yes... it will notify you you're in launch mode. to get into it, follow the steps laid out in the video... but remember to put your left foot on the brake as hard as you can... and then FLOOR the accelerator as fast and hard as you can (past the kick down) if you roll on the throttle it won't activate, likewise if you floor it but don't go past the kick down button. Hope that helps!
It's not off, it's in a reduced state that allows for some wheel slip but still keeps a safety net in place if you get out of control. Typically straight line acceleration has very little need for any kind of traction assistance, the main point of DSC is more for corner stability.
@@BMWofFW thanks a lot for the video. I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was gradually applying pressure to the peddle instead of just slapping it to the floor.
