  • I installed the clutch linkage and did not like what I saw. These cars were not designed to last more than 5 years so having items that wear out is fine as long as they last for those 5 years. Well I want this to last 30 years so I made some changes

Looking good Wally. Tons of details to wade through. I’m looking forward to the next phase...... the wiring! Great video and thanks for sharing!

Make sure that hi temp brake grease does not have ceramic in it. It will have drag and cause wear.

Another great video, thanks. Don't know where you are exactly but in Midland today it was 19c and no rain so far. But Ontario is a big province lol.

I used a rocker arm ball, Betsy had the same problem after 200k miles.

And I unfortunately did NOT retrieve my old rocker arm assemblies from the engine builder as I also thought that would have been perfect. So looks like this is / will be a challenge for all people using original clutch rod release mechanisms. Thank you for the confirmation that it was not just me.

@@68mustangrestoration34 - they made a different rod assy. I don’t know what it came out of but it had a long integral nut / pivot with a eyelet on the threaded rod. I felt it was still too sharp a point so I rounded the pivot end so it was larger. Fixed up my friend’s 70 Mustang.

Those power steering hoses aren’t run correctly. They hang down and are visible

I know the big block does , my brothers 428 SCJ hang under the car, but with the 289/302 the hoses are simply not long enough, if you search for "68 mustang 289 power steering routing" there is a great pic of an original unrestored car without the body panels they are routed like mine.
