Marty was so connected to the game, and not just in his little world of sound effects && music like most games. If you listen and have a musical ear, you'll notice that most of the sounds in the game that the covenant make are in key with the music. This is the kind of detail that always elevated CE for me.. not just the music itself, but the entire game was Marty's && Michael's auditory canvas...
The funny thing is, I don't remember this track for Truth and Reconciliation, where it debuts in game. I always remember it for when it plays as you backtrack from the control room through the snowy valley, and it plays as you emerge from the tunnel to an all out war between the Flood and Covenant. And there's Chief, all alone, ready to kick both sides' asses and achieve his own goal.
I always get reminded of legends of the hidden temple with this song and just replace the temple gaurds with covenant forces and you feel right at home.
Well than, halo CE Under Cover of Night does helping for relieve my under depression emotional. i thank you for extremely much, Halo RUclipsr. (P.S. For special Halo RUclipsr) You're welcome, and i appreciate it.
I was always a Nintendo kid growing up, so only very recently have I had the chance to play through the Halo series. I started with 1, and worked my way up through 5. This was before Halo Infinite released, so I powered through every mainline halo game (less ODST; didn't quite finish that one). To this day, this song and the mission it plays in still sticks in my head vividly. I hate stealth sections in games, yet something about the night atmosphere mixed with this almost ethereal music made me take things as slowly and methodically as possible. This quote more pertains to music, but I think it still works here: "A good artist can make a work of art you enjoy. A great artist can make you love something in a genre you'd hate."
It’s early morning in 2002, cold out, waiting on the bus as I just sit around on level 3 , listen to this music, and think of my gf at the time. Damn makes me feel old
Man! This track adds so much to the mood of both missions, and precisely because you as the player might feel tension when using the sniper the first time or when you read "Final run" in the 2nd, you now know, what the chief might've been feeling.
This is what I listen to when I control my breathing and heart rate, sometimes for stealth or concentration while playing Halo: Reach. It's a really calming part of Halo. By the way, 30 minutes is all I need good man, thank you, have a great day ;)
@luke wilson BUT FIRST thanks for the information but I'm perfectly healthy and if you were trying to impress someone with knowledge, better luck next time, pal ;)
Just listen to that bass. Marty O'Donnell and Micheal Salvatori really worked well together with the soundtracks and how they fit in with the levels. Halo has lacked this since Halo 4
Zoomers and Gen A's will never understand nor appreciate being a 90's kid who had only experienced games like the original Doom and had this game dropped into their lap. This was the first of its kind. This felt like the future had just been dropped into your lap, and the soundtrack SOLD that idea. Master Chief, Halo, and the future shooters of COD, Fortnite and so on were all unknown quantities that had yetto exist. It was just you and a great sci-fi arsenal against the Covenant and the Flood. Kids these days will, quite literally, never experience that shift in technology nor have any appreciation for what they have currently. They didn't have to live before it, they were born with it.
Started up Halo CE as it's been many years since I've run through the campaign, this time recruiting my sister to join in on the co-op. Once this song kicked in all the nostalgia feels came back to me. Such a shame it lasts for such a short period of time in the game but man this track goes hard.
While I love when this track plays on Truth & Reconciliation, the track hits so much differently on Two Betrayals. You're alone now against three factions who all vie to destroy you, but then this theme plays to remind you of who you are: A super soldier going against all odds to save the human race and the galaxy from absolute annihilation.
I feel like this is one of those songs that sort of makes you feel the despair and loss among the human/alien like species that's been slain or killed, mostly the human side though
good music for planning and reflection on future steps in life. gives a sense something good is coming, even though you must go through harsh terrain, just like Master Chief in his missions. PD: master chief is our main man
Under the cover of night TMC with fellow marine support unload from pelican 419 to infiltrate a Covent ship know to hold several surviving crew from the piler of Autumn as well as captain J keys in hope to save them from what would be sertin doom .sneaking in the camp of hostile contacts before the gravity lift. TMC goes into what is know as Spartan time taken aim in mil seconds he opens up on every hostile contact being two elites four grunts and three jackals the sniper rifle barks once twice three four times in the span of a second four hostile contact lay dead each with a clean head shot quick as a bullet TMC switched to a magnum fires a full clip into the grunts and jackals killing them before they even have a chance to fight back not one moment wasted he moves forward marines follow a descent distance away in hope that they will make it back in one piece.
I dont know what it is. But this song gives me like a creepy vibe. Like im playing some haunted version of halo or something, it reminds me of the lavender town theme and its so creepy. Like it reminds me of the "halo beta" story. Its so badass at the same time though.
Thank you, Crocodile, for making this. ❤ definetly part of the childhood. Folks, checkout Cursed Lemon, he does a cover of this track! I strongly advise yall to check that cover. Thanks again, Croc. 🐊

It plays right after the first encounter where you go on a cliff and kill a few grunts and two jackals
"Final Run"
The old graphics, the night, the snow falling, covies and flood from the darkness... so fucking peak.
I've played Halo many times in the past and still do but this is one of my favorite tracks in all of the games.
I really love Heavy Price Paid. But yeah, this is one of the best tracks.

This musical art calls to mind the sense of searching aimlessly for the higher answers that elude you, but which you are determined to find.

I want a version of this where the part when the drums come in it plays a super epic fill like in phill Collins in the air tonight
That Roland synth really sells it right away, it sounds alien and ethereal and lonely.
