Dexter I lost my mom in 2008, and my dad in 20 17 I'm sorry to say for me anyways the grieving has never stopped, losing a parent takes part of your heart, as I would assume losing a child would also feel the same. I miss my mom and dad everyday, I still feel the need to reach out to them for advice or sometimes just for a comforting hug and to let me know everything is gonna be ok.....my pain remains, and as the song says there's alot of nights I just wanna cry. i am so sorry for your loss and the pain you are going through. mine is currently in the very beginning of starting treatment (radiation 5x a week right now -- then chemo in pill form) for stage 3 rectal cancer. i wanted to be there with her from the beginning, and I was forced to rush BACK home to deal with having to move out of the room im renting because the landlady apparently had us (me and another couple with a son) there without having the rights to rent out (too complicated to explain) and now she has to force everyone out. I have only two weeks to pack and shove everything in a storage unit to go back to NC before her treatments intensify when she'll need me more. but i hate that i had to leave! and im scared to death that she won't make it through this. she's already saying she'll fight it up to a point and if it gets too much she'll give up... i can't imagine my life without her. and i have no idea how ill be able to pack everything in only two weeks! im so overwhelmed--and im all alone. ive got no one to help me up here (NY) so i can get back there faster.

This song touches everyone , cause everyone at some point have had a loss, or disappointment in their lives. I can only say that like every hurt, comes pain and that time eventually heals those hurt, but always leaves a scar, however that should not stop us from moving on, cause life it's all about learning, and growing, even when we think it's unfair, there has to be a reason, that's I I fight my feelings. I wish to all that has had a loss in their lives, or going through painful times, stay strong, we are wonderful souls, resilient , and incredibly wonderful when we fight and don't give in, we can achieve the impossible.

It's been 2 and a half years and shes engaged now.. And tonight, I still want to cry. They say time heals all wounds. That's not true! Time can dull pain but there will always be scars and deeper wounds can create problems even 10 years down the road. This.. Is the lifetime wound I will just have to learn how to deal with.

It's been almost 9 years since she walked away for me and you're right--time dulls the pain...and the scar that remains, at least for me, is that I won't allow another into my life--I'm afraid of feeling that pain of losing someone that I love again, so I won't allow a relationship to happen...

@@hippymo52 I wrote a pretty long reply and then I kept deleting it. I lost my husband two and a half years ago so I'm guessing that what you're going through right now is you're still numb with grief and the shock of an unthinkable loss.
You can honor your feelings wherever you happen to be at but don't let anyone push you prematurely into their idea of what you need. This is a time for taking care of your heart which knows what you need better than anything or anyone and you'll get to where you're supposed to go at exactly the right time, not a minute before.
I'm sorry for your loss it is very real and life is going to never feel quite exactly the same even though you will still be happy in spite of the reality of an Irreplaceable loss. Good luck with everything. I'm glad you posted your thoughts because gave me the opportunity to check in again with my own and that's part of the healing. It also gives me a reason to talk about someone who will always be very alive for me and whom I never want forgotten.

My wife left after 20 plus years. I had a heart attack a month later. This person came very close to destroying me along with my adult girls that allow my ex to show up at family functions with the guy she left me for. Once I was feeling very lonely. When I got in my car to go to the grocery store, the song by Michael Jackson came on - You Are Not Alone. It really touched my heart. It felt like he was singing it to me. It ended just as I got into the parking lot of the store. When I walked into the store, another song by MJ came on the intercom! and it lifted my spirit. I was only there to buy 2 or 3 things, then I left, got into my car, and, lo and behold, another song by MJ came on! No joke! I knew then that MJ was with me and he was saying to me "You are not alone. I am here with you." It was such a beautiful feeling. I will never forget that feeling. ❤

When someone tells you they love you and then walks away silent and never talks to you never texts you and just leave.
