I was having a bad day and then I found this 3-part work of absolute art. The music and low-key vibes lulled me out of my funk and into a dreamland of simple beauty while your hands created a useful thing of beauty. You are a true artisan. Well done!
This series has tested my patience like none other. I'm only exaggerating a little bit when I say it has changed my life. Made me a better artist in all regards, and also a calmer person. Thank you for this beautiful, meditative piece of art.
i ended up at this video because i was looking for a video to do a quick binding of a book i printed online. I did a simple binding but I came across your video in the search of how proper book binding was and i honestly have no words. i am a very impatient person but i watched all three of your videos with no problem. I have no words to describe what I just watched. I feel relaxed just by watching you make this amazing piece of art.
So beautiful and delicate. Your craftsmanship is just wonderful. I would like more information as to what you ironed on when your cover design was finished. Thank you!!
thank you so much for your kind words! sorry for the late reply, but I have updated the description and I listed the materials I used. I also linked the iron on adhesive product so that you can find it easier :)
EXCELENTE TRABAJO DE ENCUADERNACION, SIN DUDA ES BUENA ARTESANA Y LE AGRADEZCO QUE COMPARTA SUS CONOCIMIENTOS Y QUE DIOS LA LLENE DE BENDICIONES HOY Y SIEMPRE, LE SALUDA JAIME DESDE SALTILLO ,COAHUILA MEXICO, ANIMO!!!
Beautiful cover and workmanship! Everything so neat and precise. I just started making books and I can tell you each one has it's own set of problems lol! Can you explain how you got the measurements for the covers?
Thank you so much! The way I got the measurement s for the covers is I measured it according to the text block. So I added 2mm to 3mm more than the size of the text block on the upper, bottom and sides. I hope this is a good explanation, have fun with your projects!
This is a beautiful thinks of a book binder,i like a lot, she explained simply. But if the side (blue)paper tear will complaint the board . You should glue the centre portion. Just my opinion 😊
Hi, thank you for your comment! I think what you mean by the centre portion is the spine? If it is, the reason why I don't glue the spine is it will make the book hard to open since we need the spine area to be flexible. I hope this helps :)
Thank you so much! What I use here is regular rubber alphabet stamps, and I bought it online. Unfortunately, since I bought it a long time ago, I don't have any links. But here's a link to a product that is similar to what I use: www.amazon.com/Estone-Wooden-Multipurpose-Number-Alphabet/dp/B00E59THDI/ref=sr_1_3?crid=35BZLROV31RO8&keywords=alphabet+stamp&qid=1697690882&sprefix=alphabet+stam%2Caps%2C503&sr=8-3 I hope this is helpful for you, and good luck!
Exactly what I'm looking for !! 😍 so many details... I want to make my own book with a comic I can't found anywhere else but internet so I want to draw it and bookbinding it. But I'm a beginner and have a few questions. I don't have specific stuff and can't buy it. Can I use wood glue or decopatch glue ?
Thank you so much! I'm so glad this video can help you! Absolutely you can use wood glue or decopatch glue! What I use here is PVA glue, you can also use mod podge if it's already available. Good luck with your comic books!
I love your videos! Can I ask what materials you used to build up the cover? How thick is the cardboard, and is that regular paper which connects the cardboard? Also, what kind of material glues the linen to the other layer (is the other layer like a photo paper?) Thanks!
Thank you so much! The cardboard is 2mm thick, and yes it's a regular printer paper that connects the cardboards! The glue is a fabric interfacing but it has double sided adhesive, so when you iron it, it sticks to both sides (be careful when ironing it!) It's similar to heat n' bond. And the other layer is baking paper (you can use any other material like parchment paper or japanese rice paper). I hope this helps! If you have anymore questions, you can ask me, I will try to answer them as best as I can!
I dont think you could get enough money for the talent and hours you have in these books. Just beautiful work.

Obviously these three videos go beyond tutorials: there's art, craftsmanship and a pinch of poetry...

Stellar precision and a beautiful (and helpful) series of videos! Can I ask where you found that cool set of metaltype letters?
Thank you so much!

رائع،، very nice
It was beautiful! Can you kindly tell me what kind of cloth it is? I mean is it just cotton? It looks a bit thicker.
Thank you so much! Yes, it is thicker fabric. It's calico fabric, but if you need one that is slightly thicker you can go for canvas calico fabric :)
How can any writing measure up to this glorious book? The Unsaid perhaps better remain Unwritten...
Just Art

@@rururereii Thank you so much! :)
@@enakulauzovic1213 you're welcome!
Hermosoooooo
Wonderful job!..do you sell handmade books?..
Sorry for the late reply, but I currently don't sell books..
Which clothe du u used? Canvas clothe?
Yes, it is! It's calico canvas fabric :)
@@rururereii thanks 😘
How could I order this pretty one
So sorry for the late reply.. But I'm currently not taking orders and I also don't have a shop, im sorry :(
@@rururereii no problem
Please, I have a question, why was the adhesive glue not applied to the spine of the book? Thank you
If the glue was applied to the spine, the book wouldn't be able to open properly and would lose some flexibility. Hope this answers your question :)
Do you have a shop?
Unfortunately no. But maybe in the future :)
@@rururereii please let us know when you get one up and running.
