Thanks for the comment! I'm glad the video helped! I kinda thought with the way that harness came out of the fuse box, that this may not be the only one.
Thanks bud 👍 the 1 spot I've not checked that's got to be the spot !! If I can find this video again after I look I will report if it did or not but its got to be like I said the only reason there won't be a reply is because I looked for this video and it won't come up !! Thanks again for your video and time and findings!! 10 thumbs-up!!
Hi! I have a 91 Toyota 4Runner and I have an issue with a rattling within the automatic shift (from P to R to D) and was wondering if you have any advice. I have a video of it happening. Thank you so much for your time! 😊
@@J20Jeepster mine is blowing only when you attempt the start but not in the on position. Does this mean the short is likely in the fuel injector harness under the intake manifold where mice love to nest? It only blows when the car is trying to start.
Hello everyone as you guessed I have a Toyota 4runner and having problems.. I've dealt with them myself in the past but can't pass this one. Hopefully someone can help. So my problem is new battery cables are fine, but when I put the key in the ignition no power what so ever, no click, no dinging noise and if I turn the key to on can't even move my gears? It was parked for a while but we jumped start it the 1x it turned on fine and stayed on, few days pass jumped started again kept dying then finally the problem with no power anything what so ever. Please someone help thank you
@@J20Jeepster Thanks alot for replying so fast much appreciate it. I believe I have, now will that stop it from not be able to change into neutral? Cuz the last time we jumped it, it finally gave up and no power anywhere, and gear were stuck on park
@@elgingiguerro1470 That sounds like it could be a faulty ignition switch/ key cylinder. Try jiggling the heck out of the ignition key when turning it over (may get it to work temporarily) . Had an old ford that did that.
@@J20Jeepster The key goes in fine and no struggle to turn at all just no power once you turn the key to on, no click, nor a pull of some sort. I changed the battery for a new 1
Replaced the relay and no change. I'm going to look at the cables you pulled but my EFI only blows during start not the on position and my 4runner sat for over a decade so I suspect the harness for the fuel injectors under the intake manifold are chewed by mice. What are your thoughts? Thanks for your help. 93 4rumner 3.0 4x4
@@lance7413 You have a short to ground somewhere. This is all that's on that fuse: EFI Main Relay, Circuit Opening Relay, Data Link Connector 1, Engine Control Module (Engine and Electronically Controlled Transmission ECU (A/T), Engine ECU (M/T)), Fuel Pump, Heated Oxygen Sensor (Oxygen Sensor) Main, Heated Oxygen Sensor (Oxygen Sensor) Sub, Volume Air Flow (Air Flow Meter), VSV (for PAIR), VSV (for EGR), VSV (for FPU) I would check wiring to each of these systems. Hope you find it!
@@J20Jeepster i.may have gotten lucky. I have some hacked wires to the injectors running down the driver's side of the harness. They aren't wrapped and it appears someone did a quick repair on 2 of the wires. The electric tape appears to be burned or melted. I'm going to cut that tape off and look at the connections. I haven't pulled the intake plenum yet so I'm psyched that I found the hack before I pulled it. This might very well be my short.
You’ve been a great help brotha 🤘🏼 my o2 sensor wires were melted to the exhaust
Thanks for watching!
I just wanna say thank you
I had same problem goin on and been chasing this for days my short was in exact same spot

I have the same issue with my pickup 22re. It keeps blowing out my fuel pump relay every month or so. Help please.
Thank you it was a

For the continuity test, did you have the key on or off? Thank you
Key was off. The black lead from the tester was on the negative or ground. When the tester beeps it's telling me there was a short to ground.

Sounds like a main ground issue. Have you checked all your grounds / cleaned contact points to chassis?

Can you tell me exactly where that short was? I have the same problem in my 93 and I can't tell exactly where on the harness you found that short.
Right at the fuse box where the wire harness goes under the box.
