Champions League Anthem - Choir Kwaya

The winning goal in the last minute. We all have experienced it. The “yes, I do” to that one question. That 'just passing grade' on that important exam. Getting money back from the tax authorities. That last bottle of ice-cold beer. For some things, there are no words. That. Is. Winning. And that's why we sing.
For more than 30 years, one piece of music has been rumbling through the living rooms of many football fanatics and stadiums worth millions. What it is about? About being together, being a team. About getting the adrenaline pumping. Governmens with their anthems may learn from this (like the Dutch "Wilhelmus") . King Willem, are you paying attention?
On 03-06-2023 we - Choir KWAYA - staged our performance, entitled "Pop Out". We showed the well-known song of the European football cup, the Champions League, in choir form. A song with a small wink, but above all with as a goal to bring our audience our passion for the famous: Champions Langue song.
This song has been a constant factor connecting evenings full of struggle. We see a battle between champions, but we invite you to look beyond that. Listen to our choir sing the Champions League song and Let yourself feel like a champion yourself, this one time in your life. We don't need 90 minutes for that, we provide you glory in only three.
Please, when listening to this song, leave your lighters alone, because our men have to come from afar.
Two opposites: to belonging versus not to belong. To win or to lose.

3 juni was Pride in Utrecht. Ook ons thema, “Pop out”, kun je hiermee in lijn zien. Die twee woorden markeren twee krachten: eruit springen en erbij horen; één zijn en jezelf zijn; origineel zijn en “al die mensen samen in één zo’n worstje” (om dirigent Loes te citeren - fameus gezegdeverbasteraar). Ook in de liefde spelen deze krachten. Dit alles bezingen we in dit optreden.
