    I forgot Amp Lee was even on the ‘99 Rams. One of the left over players from the pre GSOT days in STL.

    That pass from Warner to Faulk at the 1:12 mark is easily the prettiest "flat route" throw I've ever seen made by a QB in my life

    I remember watching this game and the thing I remember the most is Marshall Faulk picking Az Hakim up to avoid a ten second run off. I don't know if many players would have known enough to do that in that situation!

    For the Rams, this was a shocking defeat in a pleasantly surprising year.
    For the Titans, this win and excellent start was a culmination of everything that happened the past few years with them.

    The 1999 Rams never defeated a single playoff team in the regular season, yet they were able to reach and ultimately win the Super Bowl.
    I’m not sure if there was anything quite like it in pro football history up to that point.

    • @djeanpierre
      @djeanpierre 3 года назад +2

      No one. The NFL was wide open that year. Elway retired. Terrell Davis got injured. The Falcons fell off. The 49ers were old. The Jets lost Testaverde for the season and fell off. The only team people thought was a Super Bowl contender was the Jaguars, although the Titans had beaten them twice in the regular season.

    • @josehinojosa9752

      And this two losses by the Jaguars to the Titans were their ONLY two losses of the regular season. Ultimately, the number would go up to three in both cases.

    I wonder if Hakim was really hurting or playing possum to try and stop the clock. Imagine moving an injured teammate back up now a days with the NFL much more under the microscope of safety. I guess he was fine, because Hakim got up no problem. But did Marshall know that? Hmmm...

    1999 Rams played the easiest schedule ever by a super bowl champion.

    • @garylobo348
      @garylobo348 3 года назад +5

      Yes they played the easiest schedule based on finishing 4-12 the prior year. And you know what? Lots of other teams played similar schedules the following year after being putrid the year before. .. And Never Came Close to doing what the Super Bowl winning Rams did in 1999. They demolished everyone they played at home that year, going 8-0, and won by an average score of 36-11. Show me another team that transformed like that from one year to the next.
      GREATEST SHOW ON TURF, and if Vermeil hadn't stupidly retired after their SB win, only to come back later in KC, they would've won several more SBs So let's leave behind the lame, The Rams had too easy as schedule in 1999.

    • @pp3k3jamail
      @pp3k3jamail 3 года назад +2

      @@garylobo348 I mean they should've won the super bowl in 2001 with Mike Marks the Rams had a propensity to turn the ball over a lot which was their undoing.

      Yeah their division was pretty bad and they had a 5th place schedule

    • @vegasknights4103
      @vegasknights4103 5 месяцев назад +2

      The Colts finished 3-13 the year before, improved to 13-3 and even their schedule was much tougher than the Rams schedule as they beat 4 playoff teams. And they beat 2 other teams with a better record than anybody the Rams beat in the regular season.
      And they beat the NY Giants, the best team the Rams beat during the regular season.
      The Rams had arguably the easiest schedule ever in NFL history.
      But the Rams beat all 3 playoff teams they faced that year and they couldn’t control the regular season schedule so they did what they could do which was demolish the teams on that schedule.
