I like the fact that now Tomer is in a strong and commanding position when everyone bands together to go at him, instead of him being completely harmless and still getting beaten out of the game for no reason
About an hour into the video I figured Tomer's win was just inevitable so when I was scrolling through to find the second game or end of the video and saw both he and Seth were dead with Richard and Crim left, I had to go back and see what the hell happened. I was not disappointed, what an insane game!
Yo its Friday! Commander clash helps me get through this workday almost every week. Thanks guys, entertainment is too important when having to deal with the medical field in recent times.
Have you guys considered doing guild weeks? I know you did mono color weeks a few seasons ago, but I think like a boros week or a simic week could be pretty fun.
This was a great game. I love the metagaming backstabs :D Maybe you could have a week where you set a theme, build your decks, share your decklists to a certain degree (or have the theme make the weaknesses really obvious) and then add like 5 obscure cards that would hose each other in a spectacular manner.
Tomer, your Niv went back to the Command Zone @ 28:45 because the default setting on MtGO is "Command Zone instead of Library". You have to change it manually before letting the Aether Gust resolve. But then yes, if you shuffle your library while it's in it, you don't get to choose to put it back in the Command Zone but you get a lil window popping up to show you that the Commander is in your library (so you can change its settings if you want when you get priority). I learned this the hard way with Volrath's Stronghold :/
This was a great game. I know Tomer & crew have been trying to keep the video length down but this is an example of a longer video that is entertaining the whole way through. Tomer's perspective was great for this since he was basically playing archenemy for most of the game.
Tomer, what's the plan for closing out games with this deck? It's quite different from the version you brewed with the Lab Maniacs (back when they were a thing) Why no more curiosity/ophidian eye/tandem lookout combo?
Curiosity COMBO is banned. Richard's Niv is the one that doesn't go infinite with Curiosity, and he didn't run any of the other Nivs that do in his deck.

To be honest, you don't need curiosity if you have lost vale, freed from the real and fatestitcher and niv draco genius out - that's infinite too. Works with vizier of tumbling sands too instead of fatestitcher, I believe.

Tomer clearly states that curiosity combo's and all its iteratives are banned in the two minutes of the video. I reduced that down to "curiosity combo is banned" for brevity. Best one in quite a while! The whole thing had me giddy, watching all the machinations. Loved the War of the Spark meets Infinite Crisis episode (or was this Crisis on Infinite Ravnicas?).
I say this before watching the episode, but I feel like they should have a "Mask wood Nexus" bowl where they pick an otherwise unsupported tribe and they have to play Maskwood Nexus in the deck.
"Countering" Seth's commander (and thus tapping out) when he knew Crim definitely had something that would do way more to him... probably not the best play ever.

I'd actually rate dracogenius below firemind. It's way easier to wheel and use that to ping down a board than it is to keep paying the mana to ping and then draw cards from it. Parun is arguably a strictly better firemind, other than the slightly more restrictive mana cost, and reborn is 5 color gold pair matters goodstuff, so it's a little hard to rate it compared to the other 3 since it's doing something very different.
Tomer’s screen quality/resolution was really bad this episode. I couldn’t even read which turn it was during the game. I could only recognize cards by art. :( EDIT: tried upping the quality to 1080 and it did get better, but still weirdly difficult. I could read just ok a few episodes ago with 480 or 720p quality
I just had an idea for analytics when you guys do your next summary. Instead of doing just a "number of times played" counter to figure out what should get banned, you should also look at cards based on their possibility of being played. If say every time anyone played green they played a sylvan library, but collectively you guys only played green 10 times or something, it has a 100% play rate. If every time someone plays boros colors they play boros charm, boros charm should get banned.
I hate the whole "second place" thing. There are so many plays that feel so suboptimal and only are made for "second place". Tomer also gets picked on way too much.
this shows so good why you don't just activate birgi's horn if you don't havethe means of casting the cards from it. you just loose important cards by losing cards in your hand
It's odd, but I think I enjoy Commander Clash more when the players banter about non-board-state things like music and movies. Some tactical talk is of course necessary, but the amount of time it takes to just pick a target for a single planeswalker activation...
It's funny because that dragon stealing creature while dragon specific seems worse than just mind control. I appreciate the flavor and in fun spirits of it all. 😊

Tomer said that for 2 of the NIv Mizzets. It isn't an infinite with Richard 's Niv. It is pretty good though
It's not a 2-card combo with Dracogenius so it's fine.
