This episode is Crim approved
Someone mentions Op Agent… “a wild Crim appears!”
I like how Seth and Richard are having PTSD flashbacks whenever Tomer plays a banned card while Tomer himself is oblivious
I love how Phil always wears the colors he's playing
Feels like we should have a "Death Timer" stat for the future considering what happened to Phil. Feels like Phil played for 30 minutes and then sat there watching for 90 minutes while the remaining group stalled out.
Completely agree. As I mentioned in my comment, I think the group could benefit from better threat assessment.
@@WushuTaz To be fair, having a Greven deck myself, there are so many ways in which Greven can oneshot people out of nowhere- makes him super scary.
@@WushuTaz Phil admitted to being able to 1 shot Richard
@@jamescooley5241 yeah but then Phil would have lost at least 1 of the creatures he used as a blocker (Greven eating it) and Greven would be tapped, he would only have drawn 1 card due to Narset and the other biggest threat on the board would be dead, Richard. Could then have killed Phil next turn and be 1v1 Seth v Tomer. Plus Phil would have lost at least 1 life from eating a Myr token, more if he ate something else, could not have equipped the lifelink due to only have 7 mana on board, 8 if he drew an untapped land.
Hell, just looking at the board a bit more, how could Phil oneshot Richard? No trample on Greven, tripple menace fine but richard has 4 blockers. 7 mana for Greven, eq boots, attack, sac something, if richard doesnt block (which would be daft as Phil said he had lethal), 1 mana tainted strike Richard dies. If he blocked, no tainted strike and the turn just ends.
The more I think about it, the more daft it was.
Y’all are doing such a good job with these episodes, they are very entertaining and keeping the themes interesting even after 12 seasons.
Thank you guys for doing these user submitted deck videos. I always enjoy the content you all provide for us. I had fun watching Richard play my Traxos deck, and it was cool to see how it did against all of the other decks played. I especially loved the deck Seth played. Clash is an awesome mechanic, and I’m glad to see someone brewed a deck around it.
Me: Sees Phil's flannel and can't decide if I want him to play a lumberjack themed deck or a 90s grunge themed deck.
Phil: GREVEN
Tomer remembers that random clash enchantment sweeper, but doesn’t remember Astrolabe 😂
Glad to see Richard experiencing the beauty of Forsaken Monument. This card is what got me into playing historic on arena, love my mono brown deck.
Yeah it's nuts in artifact decks deffo a powerhouse in my Karn and karametra artifact decks.
Tomer has short-term memory loss on Oko puns. We have been subjected to these terrible puns two times prior. Please at least get fresh puns.
Food related puns not even fresh smh
have we heard el pollo oko yet though that one was great
Yet another episode that makes me fall in love with this season's crew! Such a great diversity of decks chosen and no one chose a deck that they play all the time. Such a fun episode to watch and I love the decks the viewers made :D
I have a request (for niuttuc probably): I think a 'moment' video would be appropriate for the 'Russian Roulette' episode (S11E24) from 1:36:05 and forward. I realize it can be tricky to convey the scene pre-'stone' in a short video, but if it is possible, I would really enjoy it, and I think others will too. Seth dryly commenting '...cause I can make a rock.' and Richard's reaction just makes me smile from ear to ear. If you ever feel a bit sad just watch that minute long segment of the video and all is right with the world for a little while.
I suggest a theme where everyone plays a deck that someone else played. Seeing someone else take on a deck sounds like fun.
so tomer is playing Eldraine limited, we can see he powered it down with some cards like timetwister
Seems entirely reasonable
On this week of "Punt of Bluff?" everyone gets the interns to make their decks! Will Seth "Clash On" or will Tomer just get permanently banned from Magic for playing with all the banned cards? Tune in to find out!
Watching them cast pulling teeth is as painful as pulling teeth
The new grixis commander for spell slinger/aristocrat they spoiled I am hoping crim comes back to play it. It looks so sweet.
This has been good - This is not the first time Tomer has had Narset/Wheel in his deck on a non crim weeks.
Congrats on the baby Richard! Hope all is well! Sweet decks guys!
Seth plays clash goblins like Tomer plays moonfolk. Straight to the bottom! Really fun episode, always love the diverse and interesting decks that show up :)
Sad we didn’t get to see the tainted strike one shot someone
12:50 So, I often Listen to Commander Clash and don't necessarily look at the game 100% of the time. At this point I found myself chanting Oko! Oko! Oko! Oko!
And oh yes I am excited now that I saw Tomer's hand 😁
Aw man, at 02:22:33 I Really wanted to see Aetherworks Marvel, Uro, Wheel
Richard with that "New Dad Hair™️" lol. Great vid yall!
Where is the link for the info of The Banned Deck? The link in the description only has the decklist, not the reasoning why the cards are there.
This really is Tomers joker arc.
I play the Forsaken Monument in my morph deck with a lot of pain lands and other lands that produce generic mana. You can always cast a morph with random lands anyway. They all get +2/+2 when they are morphed too!
Seth’s deck is so good its an instant clash-ic
Today, more than ever... CLASH ON!!!
That intro was great
"When is the last time we got a colorless commander?" "Hope of girpur?" Literally has Traxos in front of them...
"Maybe when we go back to Dominaria"
Traxos: DUDE! *gestures at itself*
Time Vault + Voltaic Key are two pieces that were both banned, due to changes in oracle text and power level erratas over the years. Had fun using Spike, Tournament Grinder to pull them both in to win Unstable drafts.
yeay, oko puns again!! :D But Tomer you need to do a check list for the jokes you used of them. Thinking about doing this for Wilhelt. A possibility for trolling opponents two ways
The sad clash off at the end got me
I can proudly say, in my Purphoros, Bronze-blooded sneak attack deck I natural turn three tron'ed and I was so stoked. I went on to lose that game, darn strip mine! Lol
I've seen it once in edh the person ended up in second.
Captivating Glance is cool if you have ways to move auras around. You gain control of the creature and you do not lose it if the aura isn't attached to the creature anymore. For example with Arden as a commander plus a blue partner.
I loved all the guesses for when/which format a card has been banned in. I noticed they or the editors gave the answer almost every time but not at 2:26:49, when RIchard asks if Strip Mine is banned. It's currently banned in Legacy (and has been since October '96, a few months after the format was first created). It was also banned in Extended for the whole run of the format (or until it aged out, I suppose), and is currently restricted in Vintage.
Unfortunate my decks didn't get picked again but still thrilled to see traxos and greven both decks I've made before ( :
Commander at large may be getting faster but the Punt or Bluff format continues to prove 3 hour games are the truth!
How often do you accept viewer submitted decks? I'd love to shoot over a few of mine sometime for critique or for potentially playing on an episode!
As always love the game goldfish crew. I do have to ask can the opening song be turned down just a little it almost blows my ears every time 🤣.
I’m still wondering how the best Pokémon learned to build Richard deck.
I've done a turn 4 natural tron in my Kozilek, The Great Distortion deck.
I wonder if this is the longest anybody's ever spent dead in a single game on commander clash?1:09:09-2:41:47 is 92 mins, 38 secs of dead Phil in a single game.
where is the audio used in intro taken from?
Smash Bros Brawl
the latest colorless commander is Traxos from dominaria, except when we count The Prismatic Piper
Where's the description for banned tribal? Tomer promised me lore!!!
Recross the Paths is the only interesting clash card I can think of. Even without the Oops all Spells shenanigans it's one of the few non-basic ramp cards and the fact that you could reasonably expect a couple of uses is just gravy. All the rest is pretty much draft chaff.
It's STAGgering to see Tomer always having puns for Oko... 😏
Same puns as last time but still oh so good.
Unironically better than Tomer's puns and I'm kinda here for that
It was so nice of phil to sit there for 1 hr and a half because of seth
Someone getting knocked out less than halfway through the video. Feels bad.
Clash On!
i remember someone at the lunch tables getting mad i had a banned card in my deck, meanwhile im confused because i thought the artifact lands were basically useless and i just put them in for fun lol. honestly im impressed some 14yo kid kept up with the banlist that well though
Yay!
Anyone know how you should submit decks to the team if you had a spicy list?
Pay attention to RUclips. They tell you in the video ends and via a youtube post akin to a poll when they are looking for one.
Community tab on the main yt channel a few weeks in advance or you can dm them Earlier on the socials.
A few minutes in they can't think of lands that have been banned.
Have you forgotten about fetchlands in Pioneer?
Seth's deck needed Timesifter. Each player clashes every turn, the winner takes the next turn.
Finally! A viewer submitted deck that I enjoyed: Janky enough, but still trying to actually win with it.
At the end if Seth just held his hand and normal attacked Tomer, he would have had the win vs Richard with the 3x Triumph
I love the fact that there's enough banned cards to make a fun EDH deck :-)
all the collors with no represetation, and rakdos!
Clash on!
Richard's next deck will be a B/G/x deck so he can run 2 tainted lands, 3 pain lands, urborg and yavimaya to fix 2 of his 3 colors, and all about making artifact creatures and tutoring for Monument
The correct play to the breached oko would've been to concede in response just to escape the puns.
oh shit...
Love the forsaken monument recognition! In my Emry deck I run fringe lands like Spire of Industry and Ash Barrens just to abuse the monument. Under 10 actual islands. Ipnu Rivulet OP! Get on it, Richard!
Same in all of my mono coloured and colourless decks there are far too many cool lands to run basics : D
Same in all of my mono coloured and colourless decks there are far too many cool lands to run basics : D
Well the storm scale is only for standard sets so clash could show up in a modern only set
Tomer so would have been complaining the whole time if he was playing against his deck
Loved the banned theme deck and Tomer embracing his dark side. Actually pretty close to my first commander deck, because it included a whole bunch of old powerful pet cards. In comparison to some legal Commander staples we got nowadays most of those banned cards are actually relatively tame ironically. Narset and wheel is a bit gross indeed, but even that is also not thaaat bad imo, compared to some other busted combos or stacks pieces.
Yeah Narset wheeled and the Seth played through it just fine. In most cases it's a very strong play but in that board state it was honestly pretty fair.
Yidris isn't just a color fit / power boost for a clash deck. Cascade wants topdeck manipulation and high CMC cards.
white clash cards are horrific even among clash cards, and none of the partners really do anything.
2:03:04 Return target player who has been exiled from the game to play under your control
Resurrect player. Select a knocked out opponent, that player gains life equal to the player with the least amount of life. Then that player reveals cards from the top of the deck until they show as many lands equal to the player who has the most lands, place the lands on the battle field and the rest of the cards in the graveyard. Draw cards equal to the player with the most cards in hand.
Oko needed to goko.
Why did tomer not play narset on his turn 5 to shut down the greven draw and the howling mine.
Why did Seth wait so much before casting Muldrotha?
Bad combo on Seth's board state: Use beast within on his eternal witness, get EW with Muldrotha, get back beast within, rinse repeat until you have a big enough board to use overrun.
Tomer’s deck should have been called ‘Banned Together’
I like how everyone is playing with janky deck restrictions and then there's Phil.
Fetchlands were banned in Pioneer! ^^
Finally, Phil's not playing simic value.
I love you guys, but the less you talk about pauper without knowing, the better :P
Surprised Seth didn't let Richard swing at Tomer than triumph Richard
With regard to reflector mage, I don't want to see more good white blue cards while Teferi sees so much play.
Tomer - Please pop open Seth's GY when he has Muldrotha.
29:45 Richard being comitted to white having good ramp.
Where's Crim?
Taking a break until guest slot for Chaos week.
@@kingfuzzy2 That's *what* he's doing, not *where* he is. Is he at his house? Is he at the mall? Where did he come from. Where did he go? Where did he come from, Crimmin Eye Joe?
Y'all are monsters to Phil
Play kozilek the great destortion and all the rocks dump your hand and draw 7. My kozilek deck is very strong most games average in at a 7 to 8 some games feels like a 9 to 10 power level wise. Most games my groups know to hold up interaction or by turn 4 I will either win or have kozilek out refill my hand and be very close to winning. You really don’t need to much more in the card draw department. The other kozilek draws 4 on cast and the two ulamogs are your removal spells Karn liberated ugin the spirit dragon and some utility artifacts the rest is combo or ramp.
Is it just me or does Phil seem to be targeted/knocked out early most games? Maybe a little better threat assessment is needed amongst the group. Kinda lame that he has to sit and twiddle his thumbs for the next 2 hours while you all get to PLAY the game....
Yeah, sometimes it seems like Phil is there only so that Tomer doesn't die first
Usually it’s because he frequently goes off out of nowhere but can’t win that turn, or gets a bunch of fast mana starts. Or in this game, because he played one of the only two good decks, the other two being extremely theme-oriented and underpowered. Yeah, Tomer eventually went off, but I don’t think anyone saw that coming. Targeting Seth or Tomer would have seemed like a bad idea.
Phil frequently paints a target on himself, so he gets taken out.
Mannnnnn I wanted to see the infect+fling ebon death to just kill someone (unless the fling effect deals the damage in whic case nvm)
Would be cool if the crew tried to close out games faster, even if it's suboptimal, when one player is already out
The disappointment of seeing a deck with the same name and theme get chosen as the one i made, but it's someone else's. Ah well. Clash on, friends
Same here for greven and traxos
@@kingfuzzy2 well, at least there's the other brews for next time
Hopefully ye ( :
What is Oko's favorite pizza place in Wisconsin?
Rocky RocOko's
I think Wizards did a marginally better job with the dice roll mechanic of AFR than the Clash mechanic. Both have the potential for feel bad's where randomness influences the effect of the spell.
But I bet that they also noticed that having the dice roll be purely random, you can't build your deck to win more of those like putting a bunch of expensive cards in your Clash deck.
So even though the dice roll cards all mostly all too bad to play in Standard. They're not embarrassingly bad like most of the Clash cards. Farideh's Fireball is over costed in limited. But I at least want to cast it in limited.
The only thing more disgusting than Pulling Teeth's art is trying to resolve it correctly.
My friend had a jank traxos deck that is the worst/funniest pile of 99 cards and a commander ever. He once opened the 3 pieces of tron and a sol ring on me
Clash cards are high cost in order to synergize with other clash cards, because they WANT you to have high mana costs on top of your library.
15 mana sorcery (triple WUBRG) you can not pay alternative costs for this spell, this spell's mana cannot be reduced. resurrect target Player. (pay half your life rounded up, target player rejoins the game, Shuffles with the same library and draws 7 cards. Their life total is equal to the life you paid) That player is on your team.
13:54. I promise that's not what the card says.
I love that crim is still well represented. Makes me miss my senpai less.
Actually better than one is a fun card in EDH.
They should print that except with their deck, at 10 mana. That would be amazing.
