- Hey friends, welcome back to Commander Clash! Zendikar Rising has brought the fourth iteration of Omnath, Omnath, Locus of Creation, which means it's finally time for the brawl of the century: which version of Omnath emerges the victor in a fight to the death? Welcome to Omnathbowl! Here's what we've got:
- Crim summons the might of Elemental Tribal, ramping and durdling with Omnath, Locus of the Roil
- Richard is going oldschool with Mono Green ramp, looking to generate the most mana at the table for value with Omnath, Locus of Mana
- Seth is getting ... aggressive(?) with Gruul Landfall, flooding the board with angry tokens thanks to Omnath, Locus of Rage
- Tomer busts out one of his favorite new budget brews, a $50* 4C Landfall deck led by Omnath, Locus of Creation
Omnathbowl has begun! Which Omnath is going to omnomnom the rest? Find out now on Commander Clash! But first, a quick reminder: if you like Commander Clash and other video content here on MTGGoldfish, make sure to subscribe to the MTGGoldfish RUclips Channel to keep up with the latest and greatest.

I am so glad Richard brought up tomer's introduction mistake. Not going in ascending order of the colors killed me.
I love that Tomer got called out like that
@@sankethbhaskar4236 me too.
Also bless the editor for revealing that seth has the crown
Omnath, locus of rage: "Ok Seth, I have successfully made a lethal force of giant stompy elementals ready to get you the win"
Seth: "But warp world"
Omnath locus of rage: *"SETH NO!"*
Seth: "but warp world"
Omnath locus of rage: "seth i swear to xenagos if you cast that warp world"
Seth: (casts warp world)
Omnath, locus of rage: *"NOOOOOOOOOOO"*
instablaster...
Props to the Beatles reference in the thumbnail art featuring Omnath.
HA. I was too busy trying to figure out why Temurnath doesn’t have a blue arm but Newnath does. I didn’t even catch that.
Honesty I want it as a playmat
@@Crunchatize_Me_Senpai This kinda annoys me. Temurnath's 2 arms need to be blue!
@@Crunchatize_Me_Senpai 3c Omnath just continued to eat those cheetos for the entire 15 months since M20 released.
Missing wetnath?
"So what's your favourite commander?"
"Angry Omnath"
"Why?"
"I literally play nothing but ramp spells and lands"
No card draw?
When Richards gambit pays off and he actually lands the Chord of Calling to save his mana pool, that's what I live for in commander
"Do the house rules mean nothing!"
Tomer has his vices too. Sacrificing the deck theme for kaldra
Came here to say this. The only rule Tomer cares about is the budget, because that’s his schtick
Don't forget the main deck color hoser that just happens to align with an pre-agreed upon color restriction. Dirtbag got what he deserved.
Yavimaya Hollow is over $60 by the way. So Tomer should have called Richard on that too. The Reserved List is a hell of a thing.
@@Christofascist_Hup Playing off-theme isn't the same as constantly playing over-priced cards that violate their house rules just because you like it. Seth and Krim's attitude regarding their expensive cards pisses me off. That said, Tomer totally deserves to be ripped on for playing off-theme when it happens.
How many times do they have to tell Richard 3 visits is $200 lol
As many times as I tell Crim that Mana Drain is over $100
they might as well just remove that rule since no one follows it anyways
@@alkhemia23 That's the joke.
@@MTGGoldfishCommander After the Party Week, I feel like everything goes.
It probably won't be for long.
It’s funny how there was a time Richard won through janky tribes and combos because no one could justify him as a threat. Now we’re in the era where the games are usually based on how much fun Tomer is allowed to have and if Crim wants the table to have “fun.”
Before watching, I’d say Omnath will win, but then there’s Omnath and then Omnath, so it’s hard to say.
You forgot about Omnath, and look at the results
also omnath has a small chance, but it is very unlikely
Omnath is a clear favourite, but I wouldn't count Omnath out either.
You know the real tragedy of that Bane of Progress is if Tomer had used Rampant Growth to fetch a forest, then played Gruul Turf to pick up the forest, he could have cashed in that Khali Heart Expedition. RIP lands
That was the better play yeah. I was very excited to play Insight though.
@@MTGGoldfishCommander Ngl, I clicked off after that Bane of Progress play. I know it was just a joke with no real ill intentions, but man, I can’t stand watching players who are super-behind get targeted the second they find a solution.
Granted, Insight was more than just a catch-up card, but....meh. Using a sweeper to answer one card that isn’t going to immediately win seems overreactive.
That was the safer play... Insight was the flex play, and he got majorly punished for it 😅😅
Editor just rubbing salt into Tomer's wound is just so funning
I wonder how long it'll take Crim to figure out that Acid Rain is the only card that says "destroy all forests" and is blue.
Ngl I appreciate how far commander clash has come in terms of the camaraderie and dynamic between you guys. Feels a lot more relaxed
No ones talking about how even though Omnath was failing to track the mana, its still a bloody 1/1. Why the hell did it keep dying. Even if there is no mana in the pool it still lives.
“Not playable in standard”
Well, you’re not wrong. Pretty sure it got banned.
Literally unplayable.
Pretty hard to cast a card when its banned
Mana screwed in a landfall deck. That takes a special kind of person and this is why I keep coming back for more Tomer. :)
Disappointed Seth didn't cast Scute Swarm before casting scapeshift.
So, fun weird quirk that kinda explains why Richard's omnath randomly died there. From what I can see it looks like code wise Omnath gets +X/+X and has its own separate tracker that keeps track of the value of X to know how big Omnath gets, and the tracker goes up every time you add green mana to your mana pool, and when you spend green mana the tracker goes down for every green mana spent, and keeps track of X accordingly. and since the value doesn't have to do with any instance of Omnath specifically, for example if you had a non-legendary copy of omnath they'd always have the same buff, so you just keep one instance of that tracker and every instance of Omnath references that tracker to determine its power and toughness. Which is a convenient way to not have the code for Omnath look directly at the code for your mana pool and works 99% of the time. The thing is when Richard activates doubling cube Omnath doesn't get any bigger, which is probably because rather than having doubling cube add mana equal to the number of mana in your pool it just chooses to multiply your amount of mana, which since that's increasing mana in a way that's different than everything else seems to do, the tracker doesn't register that you added a bunch of mana and doesn't increase its value. However, since Richard is still spending mana the code for the tracker is still subtracting one from that X value for every mana spent, so once Richard spends more mana than he had before activating doubling cube the tracker goes to 0 then -1, meaning Omnath now gets -1/-1 and dies, which wouldn't normally come up because for that you'd have to somehow get to negative green mana, which isn't possible, but since the tracker didn't see the increase in mana properly and didn't grow right it shrinks to 0 toughness and dies, and since the tracker is held separately from each instance of Omnath when Richard goes to cast it again it looks at the tracker with the same negative X value and applies it to Omnath, instantly killing it. I imagine if he didn't win with Helix Pinnacle the next turn he would've been able to cast Omnath again and it would live (I imagine the tracker resets after your mana pool empties.) Just thought I'd share what I think is happening because I found it interesting
Shout out for the editor. They've added a lot to my enjoyment of CC.
The Warp World style cards are really just a pain to resolve in paper, Scrambleverse in particular is just a headache for me. That and the folks in my group that play those cards are ABSOLUTELY just running them to troll the table.
grip of chaos is a mighty pain in paper had someone try to ping me I start counting how many targets there are and he goes fuck that
Okay, so we're all expecting 5 color omnath obviously, but just here me out. Mono black omnath. "Omnath the corrupted" because the black took over
PHYREXIAN OMNATH
My friend actually thinks after 5c omnath, he'll return all colors and become a colorless entity, and at the point reach his spark and become a Planeswalker
@@briannephew5844 did I forget I made this comment a year ago? Yes. Do I love this reply? Also yes 😂 tell your friend his idea is cool
i always thought itd be cool if omnath slowly lost his colors in the order that he got them. so itd go G -> RG -> URG -> WURG -> WUBRG -> WUBR -> WUB -> WB -> B
Oh man, watching this now and hearing the gang say 4C Omnath is "it's too hard to cast in standard" and "only good in commander". Made me chuckle.
I like how after they punched Tomer's clock and he plays a creature they're all like
Table: Wow, he's getting there and doing stuff
Tomer: Plays a ramp spell
Table: Getting Crazy over there
Quad colors are named after the Nephilim as follows:
UBRG- Glint
WBRG- Dune
WURG- Ink
WUBG- Witch
WUBR- Yore
In the words of Nicol Bolas: Welcome to the Thunderdome.
I was wondering why everyone sounded high, then I realized that I had watched the first 12 minutes at 0.75 speed.
Wtf lmao I just tested it. They literally sound high wtf
You know Tomer is not gonna be doing anything when the cam switches... Rip Tomer.
5:19 Hahaha!!! The Stats!!!
15:16 ...
Free Mulligan = Fits the budget lol!
Timers complaints about house rules are hilarious when you realize Everyone has a housebanned card but him.
Crim: Mana drain
Seth: Wheel of fortune
Richard: three wishes
It never ceases to amaze me how often Crim or other players from the past ignore Richard and Seth and focus on either disrupting Tomer's game plan when he's not the threat or straight up preventing him from having fun.
I enjoy the video and keep up the good work, but yeah that does puzzle me.
Often tomer is asking for it.
I'm guess it's because Tomer is a combo player. Like the last game where Tomer had an empty board and couple of lands and then declares: "I had the win in hand." That's my theory anyway
@@lari5875 They all play combos for the most part in their decks. While they may not have an infinite combo in this week's games. Crim, Seth and Richard had more combo potential in their decks than Tomer.
I feel like it's kind of an excuse to justify going after Tomer when they are all running combos pretty often too.
@@jasonkorf7700 I think Richard is better at Politics than Tomer. Richard never reveals his full hand if he doesnt have to and Tomer always makes some remark that gets him targeted.
@@jasonkorf7700 That's fair. However the more I think about it, I don't recognize them as such as much as I do with Tomer, so maybe they see it the same way. Can't really say what it is, but it's something.
All the poopooing on Thieves' Auction, but it would be the ideal and most hilarious answer to the Helix Pinnacle in the second game xD
Yeah, we need terms for each 4 color combination
I nominate "illiterate" for wubg
Gubr sort of rolls off the tongue
I like "Alara" as the name for five color.
PalPlays Alara makes the most sense, but Wooberg is easy to say.
Sans-"whatever color you don't have" is pretty easy to say and stays consistent for each set of 4.
I use the names of the nephilim, so the new omnath color identity is "Ink-Treader"
@@lunarmathemagics7881 except hardly anybody knows which nephilim are which.
When Omnath became two colors, he gained two red arms. When Omnath became four colors, he got one arm of each of the four colors.
When Omnath became three colors, he was the same as two colors but standing in water.
We just couldn't see their feet becoming blue, I suppose.
I see your Omnath, and I'll raise you an Omnath.
-Damn, I'm in a pickle. What should I do!? I know, I'll try using Omnath
Huge props to Richard for that shuffle in move!
It's hilarious to see Tomer get dunked on and punt in the same game, so I'm satisfied :)
Man, Tomer was really poor at mana this time, if only he had added Hedron Archive to his deck...
NO
@@MTGGoldfishCommander then what about dreamstone hedron?
regarding banned omnath's colors, Im a big fan of the nephilim convention for 4-c which makes banned omnath ink (for ink-treader nephilim)
It was very funny seeing Tomer get dunked on. Although he was giving the cold shoulder after he did warm up more toward the end. Love Commander Clash. I think even had Tomer fetched the proper land he needed one more turn because you’d have to subtract the island he fetched. I’m not sure but I think. Very fun episode. You’ll get em again soon Tomer. Awesome decks all around, great episode. That ballsy Omnath into deck was just peak awesomeness risk/reward. Definitely a top ten commander clash moment imo.
Richard dumped so much mana into Omnath that it literally exploded.
I've been waiting 10 years for this
Who needs the super bowl when you got the OMNATH BOWL!
YYEEEEEEAH
Options for 4c no black:
-4c no black
-spicy bant
-wet naya
-mossy jeskai
-bright temur
wet naya is my favorite
Hey Richard that was one of the most impressive plays I've seen on this channel.
My brothers/friends made Omnath commander decks because of my omnath locus of rage deck. I love seeing this video!
Just a few commander clash stipulation suggestions:
Friend of a Friend
Everyone picks a companion that someone else must build a deck around.
Fair Blue
Every deck must have 50+ cards with blue in their color identity, but no cards that include the text "draw" or "counter."
Hall of Infamy
Everyone plays someone else's deck that lost first in a previous episode.
For the 4 Colour decks we should just call them Blackless, Redless, Whiteless, etc.
Yoo Omnath Brawl Commander Clash? I gotta watch this. Predicting that Gruul Omnath wins
Editor is the guest star we need.
Little did they know, it would no longer be a $200 card
1:13:00 Now I understand why!! It happened to me as I mistakenly clicked and got my commander shuffled back in my deck and couldn't understand why I would have that window, thanks Richard!
So it looks like they correctly figured out the bug. MODO did not properly track the additional mana from Doubling Cube for Omnath, so Omnath started thinking he had negative green mana after he spent more than he had before Doubling Cube. This causes it to kill itself.
Really starting to get tired of Tomer keeping non-plwyable hands. "Two forests and an Emeria Sheperd, definitely a good keep!" 😓
I need any land and I'd be able to cast Grow from the Ashes for ramp and fixing, plus I had Insight with an all-Green table. Was it really a bad hand?
@@MTGGoldfishCommander I personally would have mulliganed but it was certainly a defendable, albeit risky, keep.
That seems a pretty unfair assessment. Sure it was a risky keep, but there were ways in that hand to get more lands and have some good plays. If he had a nice 3 land hand with a bit of color fixing, he'd still have gotten screwed over with not drawing any lands for so many turns.
Dude I'm so Tomer. My decks perform so well when I'm playing outside my group but when I'm playing against my EDH group, oh boy!
I got you Tomer, don't worry my man!
@richard aquarium glass beads, I used them too in the 90s lmao I’ve used change and pebbles on the playground
The proper name for the four color no black combination is "Gay" in respect to Kynios and Tyro of Melitis out true Gay Kings.
All hail.
Oh, the Jake salt, so many good memories!!
Although, I think this ensemble is my favorite. I've been here for 4 years and binged from the start. Except for the excessive salt between two of the crew members a few seasons ago and all the underserved aggro against Jen in every game, all of them have been amazing.
Need another version of this with Phyrexian omnath
the eventual 5 color omnath will be an elemental avatar calling it now
Great episode, but the thumbnail really bothers me that the third Omnath doesn't appear to be Temur
Seth: i don't have much interaction this week.
As if he has much interaction any other week.
14:12 won't be when the new commander set comes out, it's getting a reprint
Crim probably better known as Teferi I'm proud of you for not playing Teferi or Counterbalance in a deck that has blue in it.
I miss the salty jake mic turn offs too seth. That and all the red random cards this week made me nostalgic for season one commander clash.
Can confirm, Seth easily wins the "Best Forests" award. I dearly love that art.
4c no black is called "Ink-Treader". Based off the nephilim.
It's also called Blackless and Unity (based on the 4c commander deck.)
Don't forget "current standard".
I like that the politics in this game isn't about winning. It is about who gets second.
Tomer with the salt bath he is taking !!!
The very first game of commander i ever played, back when there was only one Omnath, that Omnath smoked the table, like wasnt even close.
Edited to say the worst troll card is one i no longer play, but would love to crack: Knowledge Pool.
Not sure what the use of the glass beads are used for outside of art, but I do know they are used in Mancala at least.
47:00 Tomer sounds like he is trying to convince the table not to punch him.
Poor Tomer! Had to be coaxed back into talking...at least he showed me some different goodish cards
Om-nom, the legendary jelly bean is my favorite card in the game right now.
Great Aurora is fair in mono-green where its one of the few "boardwipes" they have access to.
All the omnaths and yet no omnath deck box to put them in!
The only reason 4 color omnath doesn't just run over the rest of them is because it was budget. I made a non budget version of it several times and it crushes people.
I wanted Tomer to die first because of his metagaming, but then Crim uttered the words: "How would you feel if I had a card that destroys all forests?"
RGWU is moist Naya or angry Bant.
Richard has the ultimate big brain magic play.
48:30 that was brutal
Funny looking shadow on the 4C Omnath.
I wonder how tomer feels about that shot muddasta made in his last video about kaldra
I've assembled Kaldra before! Winning is a different story, however.
Tomer shouldn’t complain about house rules until he starts playing on theme decks 😆
I liked Tomer's Omnath list. Felt Kinda sad there was no K&T but I guess it makes sense. Either way, was a good episode and an enjoyable hour 47.
Omnath Vs OmNomnath Vs OmNomNomnath Vs OmNomNomNomnath
I believe that WURG's name is "altruism" since it lacks black, the "selfish" color of mana. That or "ink" after Ink-Treader Nephilim.
Whoever wins, it will be a strong showing for Omnath!
I'm young enough to remember when Seth and Tomer were "Friends" now they are much more
Call it by what it is, Stomnath
Tomer, the Meta Gamer
Four Color Omnath the color combination for RGWU is called Ink-Treader.
Since the new omnath was banned, I'm sure the new omnath deck for tomer is down to 70 bucks at this time
Crim's Mono Green Tron deck was the reason I spent all my wildcards on Nissa.
Ah fishbowl beads how I remember them fondly
How many stuff are you gonna put on the stack! XD
Three Visits is getting a reprint in commander's legends under a different art.
You guys should try Counters Commander Clash!!! Every deck has a counter theme! (Crim can play real counters if he wants)
Tomer punted even before the game started! Needed to go Richard, Seth, Crim, then Tomer! Even though Richard pointed it out, YT comments did indeed notice, though.
OMG WHAT HAVE WE DONE?? XD
I love who no one has pointed out that he says "omnath would be too hard to pull off in standard"
Omnath during release: hey I'm the most played card in standard :
