Hi Mate I've got a launch edition which I do use over winter months only dry sunny day's (Roof down) I personally just can't go without driving car. What I do after a drive out is a quick rinse down under wheel arch and under chassis then use built hamber Atom Mac on bare metal and disc's which help keep surface rust & flash rust at bay because my car also lives outside on drive
Fair play 👍I'm a bit of a woose these days and have become a fair weather convertablist in my middle age!! Do remember removing the cover last xmas for the mild snap we had and enjoying our trip to Skyfall. Fingers crossed we get the same this year 🤞
Hello midwife motors. My wife has some inheritance now and wants a new mx5. Do you know if a towbar can be fitted to them? The salesman thinks not but I don't think he knows. Thanks buddy.
The rear silencer box is the pain, it’s situated where a tow bar would normally be fitted. A US company called CURT do a rather cumbersome setup which straddles the box but not sure there’s anything similar here in the uk. Oh, she’ll love the 5, mine does and has stated it can’t be sold 😎 Great cars to be fair.
Just curious about the rubber under the tyres. Might I ask why you do this? FYI I have just bought the same cover and it fits my wife’s slk perfectly as well
I did most of what you have done preparing the car including service to my Cayman S-What worries me is how often should you start the engine ?-mine will be off the road until March/April so don't know whether to run the engine or not. Any advice?
Cayman S, nice 👌I tend to try and air the car every 3 or 4 weeks, obviously weather dependent. Always fire the car up until the fan kicks in (which takes a while tbh), move it back and forwards just to make sure the brakes are ok and let the tyres settle on a different spot, plus, because its a convertible, put the roof up and down a few times to keep the mechanism happy. Oh, and maybe add an extra coat of wax, because i'm a bit OCD 😉
@@midlifemotors5050 yes might try the wax-I saw on one of your previous videos swirl marks at the tail , I guess the wind moving moves the cover about over the winter. unfortunately I don't have a garage and a big tree near driveway so i have the cover on all year-bit of a palaver but I try and look after it-it's a 981 so to me, the best sounding car with all the options on it. One thing I didn't do was the leather so I might try what you applied. I also might shove a dessicant to keep dampness down.
@@Dackah Yeah, I could really do with a garage for this car too, next year's project. I just apply the leather cleaner and leave it to soak in rather than buffing it off. Always smells nice when I go back a few weeks later.
Do you worry about trapped damp build-up over the Winter with the cover on ? Even on the covers that claim "breathable". This is what concerns me & haven't used a cover so-far.
Haven't had any damp issues over the first couple of years, this is year 3. I do try and air the car every 3 to 4 weeks, gives me an excuse to check things over too. This year the weather has been particulalry bad/wet since covering the car up and ive yet to air it so it'll be interesting when I do get a chance, this year has certainly been its sternest test to date!! Will report back. But on the evidence of previous years, and to answer your question, no, no concerns with this cover. Lets hope I dont regret that statement 😉
Just in time as the snow’s forecast to arrive tomorrow!!
I hope someday to take somewhere near that attention to detail as you've taken here! Beautiful work.
Thanks buddy. I really do need to get out more 🤣

Nice. Wish I had the luxury of a 2nd car, I have this car and will have to drive it all through the winter :(
I can recommend a cheap and cheerful mk3 Yaris 😉 Mine’s still going strong and costs literally nothing to run 👌
Hey neo how are you doing, nice content btw was wondering if you need a video editor in order to take your content to the next level

Just trying to protect the tyres from flat spotting.
They are great covers. Fortunately we’ve managed to find a garage for the car this winter.
Got ya
👍
Appreciated, as always 👍
