Unbelievable that you need to plug in the cable EACH TIME you put the device on the helmet... No one seems to highlight this drawback when comparing to the Edge...
The mount for these is very thick and makes the unit stand a long way of the helmet with a very high profile. The unit is very slim and sleek but ruined by the mounting. I think I would dispense with the mount and tape the unit itself directly on to the helmet and leave it permanently there. It would hug the shape of the helmet better and be less in the slipstream.
Why did you move the NEO mount to this additional hanging cable crap? I am good with the click base vs the air base of the Edge, but thought the click mount would be like the Freecom 4 mounts where the wiring is built in and the connector pins are in then mount. This extra wire is a MAJOR step back in design for a new product. I wanted to purchase 4 Neo units, even after just purchasing 4 Freedom units as I want to DMC vs the very unreliable daisy chain bluetooth four 4 unit intercom. But after seeing that, I will look at other brands. I also don’t want or need the Air mount and additional features to pay even more for the Edge model. Just can;t believe Cardo would go backwards in design for the NEO base mount..
Yeah figure this would be one of the “differences” highlighted between the two, not just the warranty and mount style. It’s not clear that the clickable mount has this cable you have to plug in/out each time you install/remove the unit and that the air mount has the luxury/pro/ease of having the pins built into the mount versus a cable.
I had to do the same thing. Disappointing they did this with the cable for the Neo which was all the capability I needed. But I ultimately also bought the edge as I didn’t want to switch across brands on 4 helmets. Painful on the cost when I did purely because of the mount. Maybe that’s what they wanted consumers to do though..

I agree, it was not like this in the previuos versions, very very annoying indeed

My thoughts exactly I'm returning my neo now to get the edge purely bc of this
