Absolutely this! I've watched loads of videos and just couldn't work out why on earth I would pay 50 bucks more for the edge. Now I have. I would have been extremely disappointed to have bought the Neo and only then realise this.
Dude, I had no idea that the way the Neo mounts, you also need to plug in a usb-c cable in every time. The fact that it would just hang there without the device, is a HUGE design flaw in my opinion. I was going to buy the Neo until I heard about this. Guess, I will stick with the Bold for now.
I can attest to the cardo edge being waterproof. I got caught in rain for 1 hour before it stopped raining. I was so concerned about my edge being in the rain but I was on a phone call. It still works as flawless as when I first bought it. They are expensive but 100% functional and very reliable. Crystal clear communication and some people don’t believe me when I tell them I’m on the freeway talking to them. Because it’s so quiet on their end which is so crazy they work that well in all that wind.
I cannot fathom paying any extra amount of money for an edge the usb isn’t a problem at all. You literally just take it out to charge and put it back on your helmet when you go for a ride. When are you ever trying to mount it with your helmet already on and when are you ever riding around with it not mounted and even if you are tucking away the cable is worth saving 50 dollars.
@@tomjendra9733the edge isn't just magnetic it does indeed have a clip you push to release the unit. however yeah, i don't know why people fuss about the wire. i take my cardo off to charge and it goes right back on before i put the helmet on. makes no sense otherwise. and yeah why would i buy it to ride without it 😂
I think the neo is not a winner, esthetic it’s a mess. The edge is still not looking good on your helmet, but compare to sena coms with mesh.. it is a beauty😅 I think Cardo is a much better choice because cardo mounts and unit are slimmer and the unit should be waterproof. I live in holland. The magnet 🧲 is nice :) and no more antennas who need to be pulled out. JBL sound in the cardo is good. Maybe the Harman Kardon in the top models of Sena coms can deliver better sound quality. I think music in a helmet is still poor with earplugs in 😅.. So I am happy with my cardo packtalk edge in a shoei nxr 2
To me, Cardo is total bs. Had a couple of them and regretting buying them both...Instead: - Get a pair of bluetooth earbuds and a small handlebar-remote to your smartphone = a hundred times better than any cardo...for half the price... AND no more speakers in the helmet, witch is a stupid solution regarding sound quality (even the jbl`s suck) and overall high volume. (High volume needed to overpower windnoise when using helmet speakers)
I somewhat agree. I've always had the cheap $50 bluetooth headsets and they were fine for me listening to music, gps instruction etc... It wasnt until I went on a group ride and my little $50 headset couldnt go more than 30 feet from other riders without dropping off, and the sound quality was horrible. Cardo's DMC Mesh network is far superior in staying connected when riders are far apart and the audio is better. BUT... If you're not going to use it for communication with other riders, than yeah it's a waste of money
Cardo Packtalk Edge and Neo available at our online store: www.tri333ple.com
Best review on RUclips. It's unbelievable to me that other reviews didn't call out the USB issues you call out here.
I think it’s a small price to pay compared to Packtalk Custom which runs more expensive in the long run.

Thanks buddy appreciate your support! Welcome to the club

not to mention i wouldn’t trust the magnetic mount at higher speeds

Super useful review. Well done!
Just bought the Edge for fathers day for under 300.
Is packtalk bold compatible with packtalk neo?
yes
Yes
budget intercom at $350 - WTF...
I guess I am doing something really wrong if I consider this as really expensive....
Extremely expensive. But worth it. You play your cards right. It will last 10 years plus
definitely not budget. but better than buying an edge which doesnt even have anything better than the neo other than the mounting
My Packtalk edge just stop working one day, I,wat to get support from cardo but it was impossible

Can u compare this with agv intercom
If I wanted to buy a new battery for my edge. How would I go about doing so? A replacement battery is publicly available?
The battery should be covered under warranty if its not damaged and if its a defect. Best to check with the dealer you got it from !
That dangling USB cable would annoy me too much. It seems so stupid they don't join the cable to the piece that is always stuck to your helmet.
we agree and we feel that it would've been better if the cable was attached to the mounting instead.
It doesn’t dangle, it’s tucked tight
What about the quality of JBL Bold speakers with Edge / Neo, is it the same or better Edge / Neo?
The speakers are exactly the same as in the edge! Thanks for watching buddy.
I have the Bold and Edge, the sound from the speakers are a lot louder/better on the Edge.
@@tri333ple The Edge has 45 mmJBL speakers but the Neo has 40 mm JBL speakers. I think the different would be noticeable.
Great job my friend
💯💯💯💯
We hope the video has helped!
