@@earlysda Have we seen a million year long process in the less than two hundred years that evolution has been discovered? No, but there is lots of proof for evolution. We haven't observed Jesus making any species out of thin air, and there isn't evidence for that. why do you believe the latter?
How did you implement details like bioluminescence attracting animals or necks getting longer? Were these specifically implemented things that could happen or did you do it in a more general way, like having a light system overall or a „longness“ factor for each body part? Also, what engine do you use?
Bioluminescence is a binary thing at the moment; so every now and then a plant emerges that has it. In practice this means you see it up pop up every now and then, and then die out again if it doesn't have any effect (or stick, in case animals happen to develop an instinct 'if you see a light in the dark, go towards it'). Body shape is more gradual; bodies can get longer, shorter, fatter etc in all kinds of ways, and this is just changed a bit at random for each child. As for the engine: Unity!
I think this is really cool content I like this and I know I’m 1 year late if you see this maybe you could do some underwater animals??? That would be cool
Hey Greef X, yes I ran at slow speed. If your game is crashing it is probably the game running out of memory; I have made some changes in the next big update so this won't happen as often. Until then, a (weird) workaround for this problem is to go into an editor every now and then.
Hey Moist Rooster! Without making promises, there are indeed many interesting things about insects that I would like to add to game one day. What insect features were you thinking of specifically?
Hey Lucipoo, expanding platforms is not my current focus, but in case it will be in the future: what console would you be interested in? And do you know comparable games on that console that I could look at for inspiration? Thanks :)
@@TheSapling i would love to see a switch version of this game, and I am unsure if there are any games similar to it on the switch but I will definitely be on the look out for a game similar!

Very cool design! I'm a sucker for these kinds of simulation games.
Same, but evolution games are the best too me.
Please don’t start an argument.
you just need to evolve to this :)
Yeah bibites and this one are pretty cool
pls do more of these id love to see like a series based off of it
Man, i wanna know how this woulda progressed as the species further colonized and specialized.

Hey Joe, thanks for your suggestion! Without making any promises, it's indeed a cool idea, and also the most requested feature by far :)
Bought the game. Fantastic work!
Is it possible for the animals not to eat the nectar of the plants and eat the fruit and disperse the seeds growing within the fruit that way?
Right now there is no seed dispersal via fruits yet... it's often requested though :)
Big thickums plant.
i want someone to do something like this for like a few weeks but it would be hard to pool off

it would be cool to be able to pick and play as an animal

How do I get the map your using?
This is the old static sandbox map from before the 'Sea & Sandbox update'; these days you have a planet editor where you can create your own maps.

You clearly don’t understand the game. Just because it looks simple graphically doesn’t mean it’s simple
It would probably not run very well on mobile seeing as it's fairly laggy on desktop.

Yes and yes. The creature at 0:32 is one for example. Carnivores are really simple though; this will change with the next big update.
