- Hey there, folks! Today, we're going to have a little fun experiment. Have you ever wondered if your porcelain tiles are as strong as they look? Well, let's put them to the test.
We've got a few porcelain tiles here and we're going to test their strength. Now, I'm not suggesting you go and do this at home! This is just for the sake of science, right?
Porcelain tiles are known for their durability and strength. But how strong is that really? We're about to find out!
First up is this beautiful blue and white tile. It certainly looks sturdy, but can it take the weight? Let's find out. Now, hold on to it tightly... there we go! No cracks or chips - that's impressive!
Next up, let's try this unique brown tile. It has a solid look to it. Let's give it a try. Alright, no breaks or cracks - it passed the test!
And finally, let's check out this elegant grey tile. It seems like it could hold its own against gravity. Let's see... no damage at all - wow!
So there you have it, folks! A little fun experiment with porcelain tiles to test their strength. Remember, these tests were just for fun and not meant for real-life application - always handle your tiles with care!

Tidy experiment 💪🏻🏴
It’s good to know all the factors I guess 👍🏴
Good one, mate as always 👍
Thanks 👍 I’ve got a full outdoor kitchen video waiting to come on but waiting in the customer to finish his bit up. 👍🏴
Love the Haz suit, very becoming!Test inconclusive but save the money 👍😎😀
Agreed! Screw the premium off it’s double bubble 👍🏴
Looked like they both were cracked to start with. Then realised my tablet screen was cracked
😂 👍🏴
😂😂😂
Interesting. Well done. Would you consider experimenting with flowpoint? Brush in dry, sweep up excess, then water?
Keep the videos coming👍
That’s possible yes a bit like a video I did not long ago using steintec grout same procedure 👍🏴
Nice video tidy! Quick question, do you have any ideas how you might repair the corner of a porcelain tile that’s chipped off? Not bothered about a perfect colour match and I really don’t want to remove from middle and re-lay!
Have a look for broad landscapes on Facebook he’s the man for those fixes 👍🏴
Scot I guess it's like any thing that's related to the nail it's not always the size of the hammer 😂. 🍻 as always a great watch and quite simple for all the simple ones out there . 👍
Very true 👍🏴 any other ones I could test ?
Interesting test. It seems that the professional garden design industry are avoiding using porcelain due to the massive enviromental costs when they are made. A least they will break up nicely when we come to replace them!
Environmental costs well not sure about that if you want something then have it the Uk footprint for anything is very very small 👍🏴
I have always said the same thing in regards to sbr
It’s does the job when mixed with cement 👍🏴
Every day’s a school day 😎 if you can help someone, then why not!
Every little helps especially before someone spends a lot of 💰 👍🏴
Hi Tidy Bricks,
great test!
One question: How does the base, thickness and material need to be for cars to drive on porcelain pavers?
Thickness and traction for tiles is an important factor I like to look for. Thanks for the videos
I’ve acted done a video on that a few years, ago and I put in a reinforced concrete base along with type 1 mot take a look ruclips.net/video/4HucqCZKV6o/видео.htmlsi=MQ-od0XKOUJr2f6b 👍🏴
@@tidybrickslandscaping awesome, I liked the video! Thank you! I think fiberglass rebar is the best option nowadays because steel rebar rusts eventually and explodes concrete when it expands in rusting. I enjoy your videos, thank you, take care.
@@clarkpiper6007 there’s always a option some where 👍🏴
Hi Scot hope your doing well I love your content
I’ve got some bespoke pillar caps coming up tomorrow hopefully 👍🏴
@@tidybrickslandscaping can’t wait most honest tradesmen going
@@Boxingfirst cheers buddy I try to keep it real 👍🏴
So basically really Scott we shudnt drop a sledgehammer on the tile lol good vid though very useful and sometimes I suppose it don’t pay to buy the premium
Yeh try not to drop any sledges seems to be worth noting lol and yeh maybe it’s not worth paying over the top 👍🏴
03:40 Tile bounced.
And it cracked because of it 👍🏴
Not much between them.
Nope pretty dam similar really hope it helped 👍🏴
No, the difference is the cleaning cheap tiles stain easily. Indian made Italian porcelain is crap. buy the real deal vitripiazza made in Italy they grout easily, clean easily chip resistant edges and better designed. Don't be tempted with the cheap 3x2s you'll regret it
3x2’s sometimes have bends in them that’s something I’ll never miss no I’ve stopped laying 👍🏴
As usual cost is no indicator of qualty/utility. Will you be reimbursing all the customers who took your recommendation to buy the dearer one's....???
😂😂😂
I might be getting a few phone calls coming up complaining hopefully not 👍🏴
Obviously new evidence and recommendation(s) updated accordingly 😎
@@hugh5699 something like that 👍🏴
