Making 6 for my grandkids. I’ve made a couple bags recently but they had batting cuz I wanted them to have a more formed shape, overall process was the same. Well, tonight, I made my first unlined bag and closed up the lining fabric only to discover I hadn’t sewn closed one of the corners 🤦🏻♀️ then, I get it all closed up again and finished and found I had one handle with a single twist! 😂 The next 5 will be perfect!!! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
Thank you for posting this! I completed my first bag- my first sewing project in a long time. I’m excited to do some more projects, this video was very helpful and has great step by step instructions.
I am so excited...just finished my 1st of 5 of these Halloween tote bags. Its the first bag I have ever sewn. Your step by step instructions and tips gave me the confidence needed to take on this challenge. Thank you so much for a great tutorial!!
I have great grandbabies but only 4 are old enough to eat candy lol I have an 8 yr old girl 2 boys 4 and 2 and another girl at 2 This is going to be the first halloween trick or treating for the smallest little girl. she was only 6 months old last year and the little boy is turning 3 in Sept. So I am going to get with both my grand daughters and see what costumes they are wearing and make them bags to match then if mama wants she can use the bags at the grocery store the rest of the year. what an easy and perfect sewing project for anyone if you don't even sew you can make this by hand. with needle and thread. Love simple things that look so high end and personalized
Not sure what fabric I’ll use for this project, however I will do some sort of Cricut iron-on decal in reflective vinyl for it for an added safety feature
Then instead of lining the edges of the straps up with the edge of the bag, have them go about and inch above the raw edges. That way more is inside the bag when you turn it and you can sew squares to reinforce them below the stitching along the top edge of the bag. Hope that makes sense!
🎃 Who will you make Trick-or-Treat bags for?

Yo, this is a boss tutorial! So easy to follow. Your voiceover is so down to earth.
What a great bag! I can see uses beyond Halloween. I'd stick with the simple version as my skills are basic.
100%! These would be cute in everyday fabric, make a beach tote bag, holiday fabric, use them for shopping - so many things you can do.

What fun ages for Halloween! Happy sewing! 🥰
Bravo. 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽
Love the instructions. I am making 2 tomorrow morning. What is the finished size? thanks in advance.
It’s about 15” wide x 12” tall with a 6” boxed bottom You can adjust the length of the handles to be shorter or longer if you want. Have fun!

Great idea!
Great tutorial! My only concern is that my kids will fill it so full of heavy candy that the straps will pull out! 😂

Thanks! Great idea!
My daughters BFF has 4 girls, so I’m making for them
Lucky girls! 🥰
Why did you sew 4 straps? I only saw 2 attached, one on each side of the lining.
I’m not sure where you are seeing that - maybe I meant “4 ends” (of 2 straps). But you are correct - 2 straps
