@@SewVeryCrafty I'm not a very good student....I cut one out with the print going sideways. I'm going to use that fabric as a lining now...no harm, no foul. I'm also machine embroidering names on the handles. I have 5 in the works.
I made two bags for my kids yesterday! Thank you so much. I accidentally sewed the handles inside out because I didn't realize where you placed it in the video at first. 😂@@SewVeryCrafty
Cute little bag, thanks for sharing the pattern and directions. Could you please tell me the printer setting for the pattern piece? Is it set to default? 100%? Fit to page? etc Or maybe you could just tell me what the lenght of the printed pattern piece should be so I can make sure I'm printing at the proper size. Thanks. A lot of patterns come with a 1" square so you can check that you've printed at the proper size. You may consider that for your future patterns :)
I bought a bag very similar to this at target for Easter, ( It’s a huge furry bunny head with big ears which I embroidered with my boys name on the ears. He uses it every year! Now I can make him one for Halloween! I think I could use those cheap blankets from Walmart! I hope I have time to. Your bag is way cuter than Martha Stuart’s tutorial here on RUclips that came up above yours!
I came back to say that I made one day before Halloween! I just used your pattern it came out wonky and not lined up. But still cute! I might post what I made. I added a ribbon to the edge instead of just the top stitch. It’s about smaller than o expected . I think I’m going to make a pattern for a big one maybe for Christmas? Thank you! If for some reason after I finished mine was all wrinkled. :/. If I post the video you will see what I mean. Maybe it was my interfacing or maybe I squished it up too much while sewing?
Sorry it came out wonky. As for the wrinkling it probably is the interfacing. You definitely have to follow the manufacturer's instructions because all manufacturer's are different. Good luck on the larger one.
@@SewVeryCraftyyes im sure it was the interfacing that’s like hard paper. I posted a video of mine and tagged you so I could send it to you? Please let me know if I did it wrong when I put your name it put an @ . I can remove it if you want. I posted your channel name several times for credit to you. Ty!
You do not need measurements. Just stitch the pieces together using a 1/4" seam allowance following the video. The handle is 4" x13". You can stitch that following the video as well. You can also check out the blog post. sewverycrafty.com/how-to-sew-a-halloween-trick-or-treat-basket/
Is this bag reversible? Would you recommend using interfacing on lining pieces as well, for a reversible bag? This bag is so cute! Thank you for this tutorial .
I made one which I love but I struggled with the ends where they all join up and my lining didn’t match up. Any tips on this especially the pointy bits?
One tip I can give you is to press each seam open before you stitch the next. This will allow you to get a nice point when you stitch all of the pieces together. The lining should come out the same as the pieces are the same size. I am not sure what happened to yours there.
If you make a pencil mark one quarter inch from the pointed top of your fabric pattern piece, you can start sewing each seam at that point. Ideally, when you have the pieces all together, the seams (and pencil marks) will meet at the top. I'd recommend practicing on your lining, first. Good luck!
thank you. I am making them for the Nursing home residents. I call them; Antique precious dolls!! your tutorial was fabulous....

You’re welcome 😊
I'm making 15 for the Nurses at work, I am stopping 1/4 inch from the point to allow the bunched-up end to lay flatter, It gets a bit thick in there.
Great idea. Thanks for trying the project.
Are you a nurse too? That’s so amazing of you!
I made one of these and it’s just the cutest bag!! Thank you!!

I love it, I just want it larger. Could I cut the pieces bigger than the pattern if all of them are the same?
Yes
very cute
Thank you! 😊
I made 4 of these. Wish I could share a picture. I added lights.

Brilliant idea. Looking for a quick project for Halloween. X
Thank you! 😊
Awesome I have mine done ✅

Am I supposed to fuse the interfacing to the lining bag as well as the outer fabric?
No just the outer fabric

It should print at full size.

Is this bag reversible? Would you recommend using interfacing on lining pieces as well, for a reversible bag?
This bag is so cute! Thank you for this tutorial .
Yes it is reversible and it is up to you of you want the extra support but I don't know that it is necessary.
