Games like Borderlands, Diablo 3, Dead Island, Left 4 Dead 2 all got ruined by people using mods online. Thankfully, out of all of those I switched to PC for Diablo 3 and I've enjoyed it alot online. Alot safer on that platform for that game at least. It was hard to find legit players in a community surrounded by hacks/mods. 🤨

Never see any types of hacks in borderlands on Steam. I’ve seen Gibbed and people give out free weapons sometimes but that’s it. Gibbed is a save editor.

I'm on PC and I haven't encountered a cheater yet on multiplayer or even suspected someone is a cheater. I usually don't play Warzone but people have said that more people cheat on there. I find the killcams in Warzone sometimes don't even play so you can't actually tell if someone is using an aim bot or wall hacks

Technically both are correct: MOD Menu as well as Cheat Menu. Personally I call it one or the other based on the fact if it is used in online or offline.

Gta 5 for sure, the game became alot more fun after getting 700m and being able to buy anything you want.
And ull get bored after 5 days having all that stuff. My friend used a mod menu and got himself everything but after a month playing with me he got bored and got back on cs:go where i think he is hacking too but im not sure cuz i stopped playing cs, it bored me. I didnt use mod menu and I am still enjoying gta after 6 months of playing it.

Only time I can condone cheating is in single player campaigns. Infinite ammo, godmode, low grav, etc.

Edit: as for the "war of attrition", those "hackers" weave their way around the anti-cheat mainly because they see it as a challenge to overcome.
