I was groomed as a young teenager, too. The guy was like this "cult leader" too, he was this guy in his 20s who claimed to be a vampire.
When this story first broke, I was saddened by everyone just automatically assuming the accuser was lying, going "hard evidence" this, "hard evidence" that. When I was groomed, I didn't even know that what was happening to me WAS grooming, that's the entire reason why guys target young girls for that purpose. Also, it happened before the internet was a widespread thing. How could I be expected to go back and get evidence of that? It's absurd to expect young girls to have the foresight and the wherewithal to automatically mistrust someone they're close to and record every single interaction with everyone, just in case. And it's not like the internet doesn't have a marked history of being misogynistic and disregarding most victims without even bothering to hear their story.
But watching this video, all I feel is a pit in my stomach. If it's all fabricated, that's so incredibly damaging to people like you and me. Because this is so high profile, It just means more victims will be ignored and even flat out turned against by the masses, something I know can be more than enough to drive them to do something drastic, like...um... "Self Crit" (thanks youtube for taking away our voices and not able to mention important topics).
It's hard not to feel hopeless in the face of all this.

"we need evidence now, we need to consult with lawyers (...) we can't just listen to victims."
I'm a victim of CSA and CSAM. I don't have enough evidence to bring a case against my abuser, because I deleted and destroyed everything related to him out of shame, fear, and anger. It was a mistake, but it's too late now. I do NOT think my word should be enough to get him locked up, even though I would like him removed from society until he is no longer a danger. For my family and friends, I'd like them to believe me based on my testimony, at least enough to offer comfort - but in a court of law, it's a different story.

    • @squidgedraws

EXACTLY. When someone close to me shares that they were abused by another person, I will believe them unless proven otherwise. In a court of law, it is very different, as false accusations are often life ruining and the law system wants to make sure an accusation has actual merit and evidence backing it up before punishing the person accused.

Magnatar got called a PDFile and Max’s audience contacted his workplace over this false allegations, and he called Tommy one as well, and having his rabid fanbase telling Tommy, a literal CSA victim, that he deserved what happened to him as a kid. (English is not my main language, sorry for the spelling/grammar mistakes)
I'm a CSA survivor, I was abused by a member of my family for years until I left my home and cut ties with my entire family at 18.
When I discovered Mamamax's channel, it was almost a revelation. Finally! someone was giving a shit about us, someone who didn't care about the bad buzz or the backlash, he was going all in for us no matter what.
His videos were extremely cathartic for me, I never got justice because when I went to the police station at 21 years old to file a complaint I didn't have any evidence or proof of what happened, the abuse had happened a decade ago, I didn't have any pictures or videos or anything other than my testimony with me. Ultimately, it was my word against my abuser's and my complaint was dismissed. I knew it would happen, I was devastated anyway. So his style of editing, with the violent imagery of Hotline Miami and the baseball bats and the fact that, maybe, the guys in his videos were getting what they deserved calmed my anger for a little while because God knows I dreamt of doing it to my abuser more times than I can count.
Now I feel used. I feel like my trauma was used for fame and recognition, that our stories were only there to feed his ego and his online persona. That behind every CSA survivor was a potential ego boost for him. Knowing that he lied, probably created things and made us believe it was true just... I was going to write "disappoint me" but we're way past disappointment. I kinda feel numb. And stupid for putting my trust in a random stranger on the internet, enough to subscribe to his Patreon for a year and give him money just to deceit us. Of course it was too good to be true. I was blinded by my trauma and my need for justice like many others and he took advantage of this to build an entire fanbase. It's sick. I feel sick.

Yeah out of everything he said, him asking why it’s his job to get the story out is what left me absolutely dumbfounded. I just cannot believe he actually said that. Why is it your story, Max? BECAUSE YOU’RE THE ONE BREAKING THE STORY! Max is the bringing this story to the forefront and shedding light on it. He’s the one supposedly talking to the victims, he is the one supplying the information here. He made the choice to take on the story as his project. For him to ask why it’s his job has to be one of the most incompetent things he has said throughout this.
And then for him to try to brush off that responsibility and say he’s only the first one to talk about it but doesn’t want to be the only one to talk about it… dude… you are the one talking to the victims, you are the one pushing this story, and you’re not giving any information. Besides Spencer’s account of what happened with her, there is no information about any of this for people to work with, and that’s because you didn’t give any. Now it all makes sense to me. Because before this whole shit show, I felt like I was waiting for the ball to drop or something. Max put out the first video about it, and when I watched it, I came out feeling like that wasn’t the story, but just a precursor to it. It felt more like a teaser trailer. He identified Camden and made the claims but didn’t actually give information about what happened. I came out of it feeling like it didn’t really “begin” yet. Now I know it’s because Max himself didn’t even know any information. He really made 3 whole videos about it without even fully knowing the ins and outs of the story himself.

Then in that What Happened to Mamamax video, you see his face and everything, it looks like he's going mask-off, but he's _still_ got the voice mod on. "ChatGPT understands the legal system" Is the funniest thing I've heard anyone say in a long time.
LegalEagle made a video on this ages ago. Actual lawyers have been disbarred for using ChatGPT, because ChatGPT will regularly just make up cases and cite them as sources in legal arguments. ChatGPT does not "understand the legal system." It doesn't "understand" anything. Half the time it's basically just procedurally generating actual gibberish.

    • @rnpee

Well, obviously Max operates on the principle of "rules for thee, not for me." In other words, his warnings about AI don't seem to apply when he's the one using it.
And just to reiterate in case anyone's wondering; ChatGPT *cannot provide* effective legal counseling. It has been caught literally just fabricating cases and precedents. AI "hallucinations" are a fascinating but alarming issue that is rarely spoken of, even though a lot of people are excitedly rushing to implement AI tools and solutions into all aspects of everyday life. As an educator myself, I genuinely worry that the views expressed by Max - that AI can and should be trusted even in cases where its use is of real consequence to real people - are gaining a lot of traction; particularly among the young crowd that he appeals to, who seem increasingly convinced that you barely need any education whatsoever when an app can generate solutions for you.@@rnpee

He’s going on about allegations as if these have actually happened if they haven’t and these things are serious and do affect real people almost every day. Even assuming these didn’t happen he doesn’t say anything to suggest this is all fictitious, and his tone and accusations alone are very serious even in a fake manner. He lied about a girl getting SA’d and killed, doxxed Camdan’s family, admitted he lied about every case he’s every worked on, he admitted he’s never caught a single predator, he accused a fellow RUclipsr Magnetar of being a ped0 because he was dating a girl max really liked so he fabricated “evidence” and took the words as just that, he’s alleging that testimony is evidence and nothing further is needed even though 5 girls came out and said he’s abusive and he denies that, he also houses Spencer and she’s a close family friend (conflict of interest) and she’s the money manager of this Camdan operation, he also made an entire song detailing that he wants predators to give him head, and there’s just too much to list it’s really bad. I wouldn’t go as far as to say there’s no survivors of this alleged human being, but he’s ruined the whole case against Camdan if there was one to begin with, and he’s given Camdan and his family the ability to build a defamation case against him for what he’s done with doxxing/inciting harassment with no evidence.

    • @MrMrtvozornik
      @MrMrtvozornik 11 месяцев назад +2

Using acronym CSA is as much of a "damper" as saying "The N word" instead of a real word. People use these things as acronyms because when you talk/type about it a lot humans want to shorten the load, similarly how language always evolves to have most used words be the shortest. It has nothing to do with emotional difficulty, because it's not idiom like saying "passed away" instead of "died". Saying CSA and Child S*xual Assault evokes the same imagery, people are shortening it because it's easier. We do these things with non emotionally charged things too, slangs are best examples, such as yolo, lmao, lol, cba, idc, etc. Only other reason people may use acronyms or make synonyms is due to ARTIFICIAL censorship, a.k.a. state or corpos having "no no words" on their site. And this is why TikTok kids unironically say "unaliving" instead of you know what (I can't even say that word on YT without being shadow banned), and not a single time in existence of rules has ever a state or corporation made such lists of no no words in effort to keep people safe or anything similar, but only to virtue signal or to make their brand more advertiser friendly.
It honestly sounds like you're either disinformed and don't know how language works but regurgitate what someone else said, or you're projecting because you might find it emotionally difficult.
On that note, serious question, do you actually find it easier to say CSA instead of the whole phrase if you were to discuss the subject? I've met 2 CSA survivors in my life, and some others who'd use other acronyms, and they wouldn't say a simply acronym suddenly makes it easier to talk about. That being said, I genuinely mean "talk about", not simply say "I'm XXX survivor" and leave it at that. I'm open to changing my mind, but I highly doubt it makes it any easier, and is more of a thing because of other 2 points I've already pointed out above.
P.S. There's also a thing for acronyms in English which other cultures do not have. Many Americans and Englishmen unironically use acronyms in day to day communication, which makes it even easier to produce more of them. You'd find other languages having far more "resistance" to casual acronym usage. The very occurrence where an US citizen has a name like Charles Junior but unironically goes his whole life calling himself CJ is almost unheard of anywhere but native English speaking countries. @@MainlyCyanide

He never checked the cited court cases, and it turns out not a one of them existed. It could be pulling legal advisement from other countries. It puts together words based on prompts. It can be and likely is entirely wrong about very important aspects of what he's claiming.

@@prissverso406That was hilarious lol, totally the lawyer's fault. I don't think Bing AI/Copilot was available then. But at least that model will pull results straight from the internet and give you sources. Good luck figuring out how ChatGPT came up with the answers it did, that thing is not a Google replacement 💀💀

Wait until in 10 years people unwillingly starting to use Chat GPT for legal advice 😂😂
Oh, no, they're already doing it! 😂

@@prissverso406 This is why ppl hate/mock AI. So many of these idiots think they can use it to do work for them rather than use it as a tool.
