Awesome video Jeff, I love those old classic T Birds. I don't remember the last year Ford Made them but those were a modern version of the original. They were in my opinion beautiful cars. I wish I had one.The 312 Y Block brings back memories. My dad had a 57 Fairlane with the 312 and it had a dual quad on it. I remember the big oval shaped air ,cleaner which the dual quad had.He bought it used it was an ex police car.It was fast.
Makes you realise just how much the creativity has gone out of making modern cars, the name says it all "Thunderbird" and the style of writing it down the side of the car, wow! - ok they may not be as efficient and hi-tech as modern day stuff, but no modern cars look as good and stylish as these old girls we keep seeing here. Stick it on my ever growing wish list.. LOL :)
Hmm. This gives me a great idea. How about a 1963 Corvette powered by a 312 Y-block? The ultimate asshurt wagon. It would be pretty funny to attend every Vette show with it too.
I was just next to one of those newer Tbirds in traffic the other day. They are nice looking cars too. They did their best to copy a lot of the details of the original.
That is really sad, I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe one day you'll be able to get it back. At least you have some great memories with your Grandpa though.
my great grandpa had a 57 and me and him would ride a round the block he was almost done restoring got cancer and passed away great grandma sold the car to pay for the funeral I cried when he left and then seeing the car on a roll back I cried more ik who has it but idk how I would react to see it again if I had the money the car would come back home but that's a pretty white thunderbird you have
Sure is a nice example Jeff! If they had buckets and a console back then. Great little cruiser. Can imagine the grin on guys faces as they drove off the dealer lots back then.
This Ford thunderbird 1957 ,this is my car, I had one in Cuba red and white, automatic transmission , the 312 the engine sound never forget , I think before mi pass way, I get one , my wife she said ,you are crazy, yes, but I love.
No it's no a Vette of the same vintage is even more but a nice clean rust free bird could fetch north of 100k. check out Amos Minter's eb page. or my facebook. You spend the money upfront or spend in the car to make it a # one , or #2 car. Bobby Sdynor

That dual quad setup always makes a car that much cooler.
I agree completely, modern designers could definitely learn a lot from their predecessors.

Looks almost like the one that Suzanne Sommers drove in the movie "AMERICAN GRAFFITI."

like the copper colored interior with the white exterior
Is the hardtop on the 1957 T-Bird removable?
Absolutely, hands down, one of my favorite cars of all time. Especially in that color. Very, very nice. I'd buy that in the blink of an eye.
