  • SOLD- absolutely stunning example of the first generation Thunderbird from Ford, a 1957 model in gorgeous bright red over white leather. This very low mileage vehicle was given a complete frame-off restoration in 2004, and remains in exceptional cosmetic and mechanical condition today. The very high quality paint gleams like new, and feels soft to the touch, and the interior is in exceptional condition with fresh leather, immaculate chrome, and impeccable trim throughout. The hard and soft tops come with the vehicle, with the hard top color matched in red, and the soft top in white - both seal extremely well and look as new. Mechanically, the 292ci V8 fires right to life, and runs extremely well - it is original and numbers matching. The three speed gearbox shifts very well with excellent clutch feel, and the brakes work as well as 1957 engineering allows. All in all, this is a show quality classic Thunderbird ready for showing, driving and collecting.

    I see so many of these 'Birds online that have the fender hash marks upside down. And here is another. The chevron goes on the bottom and the connecting bars go on top.

      Why would people take them off and re-install them upside down?

    • @MostlyBuicks
      @MostlyBuicks 2 года назад

      @@Mr1963corvette They take them off to paint the car. They put them back on upside down because, let's face it, many shops do not know the particulars about the cars they paint. And putting trim back on is reserved for the least experienced anyway.

      They can invert and swap sides to be correct.

    • @MostlyBuicks
      @MostlyBuicks 2 года назад

      @@charlesf4428 No, the solution is not swapping sides. It is to rotate each one by 180 degrees. It is not possible to put the left one on the right side and visa versa. Draw one on a piece of paper. You can rotate it and the slant will be in the same direction. If you move it to the other side of the car the slant becomes backwards. I have mounted this on T-birds dozens of times.
