I'm sure you've lived a great many ups and downs. Hopefully you can find some joy in the fact that this memory of yours will now live on through future generations as well 😄
All music is powerful but northern soul is so special once it gets you its with you till life's end I'm 58 I went one to wigan I was 17 I can cry happy or sad times but northern got me thru it sheer quality

Michael.. it's good to see youngsters enjoying northern soul I'm feeling sorry for myself as I'd love to have a good dance with somebody to this music .
That young lad at the beginning with the blue t shirt is really good and is getting right into it but it's nice to see the young ones keeping this fantastic music alive xx
I grew up to this music my dad was big on the northern soul scene so he taught me how to dance he sadly passed away 2 years ago but me and my family still go to the northern soul nights and have a good dance x
Off work at the moment, because of this stupid virus'. Catching up though on that great sound, northern soul. Let's all keep the faith, and we will beat this😁

There is something extraordinary about music and how it has a positive effect on people's mental and physical health. When we were teenagers we couldn't wait for Saturday night music and dancing at the local youth club, no fighting, or anger, just a common bond, this is banned in some of the most violent countries across the world, that explains it.....
Just Love when the track opens up seeing a young Lad dancing well and keeping the Faith going, with young kids like him it will never die, good on you Son.
Absolutely love this tune 1 of my all time favourites.I5 takes me back to my souly shuffle days.It wakes me up every morning on my Alexa alarm. What better way to start your day than with an old time brilliant number like this.KTF guys.👏👏👏✊
We may have been skint but we had jobs and Friday couldn't come soon enough so we could dance the night away no virus just fun a week at butlins a good time to live and be young
What times they were, fabulous music like this, you could go out on Friday night in your best Ben Sherman or cheesecloth shirt with 20 quid and still get home with a few pound notes left, such good times, so much violence and bad things going on in the world right now but videos like this just make everything all ok for a few minutes! why the hell can't we just get on together, we all bleed the same colour, everyone eventually ends up cold in the ground, then its too late! Love to you all from me in the UK. XX
@@stevegillard6259 great comment I went to a lot of northern soul nights all over the country and never did see any trouble ,we were all there for the music soul brothers and sisters I often think about some of them now I'm approaching my sixty second year
I’m listening to this fantastic song for the very time & reflecting over my life. Yes, there were many “one night affairs” but hearing these beautiful words makes me feel that love for “many tomorrows” is what I was searching for......
Was looking for Benny Mardones, who used to record as Troy in the early 70s, and came across Benny Troy. At first, I thought they were the same person, but they are not. Love this song.
love this - sounds like the U.S. East Coast north and South Carolina beach music of the 50's -60's with artists like: the Dominoes, the Drifters, the Clovers, Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs, the Tams, the Tymes, the Temptations, the Four Tops, and the Chairmen of the Board.
There are definite parallels between the British Northern Soul, Southwestern Chicano Soul Oldies, and Carolina Beach subcultures, and overlap. All of them have kept soul music alive
Funny Northern Soul this record is a pure disco track soaring strings 4/4 dance beat, great uplifting feeling, long may this sound live.... So maybe I'll just call it great dance music Keep The Faith everyone....

When I was at school in the 70's soul music was the thing. Then along came the Rock and Roll revival and I was hooked from the start. Left school and had 2 choices. Soul boy or Teddy boy. I chose the latter and still am today but that doesn't stop me from loving great soul music. It's the music of my childhood and youth and I'll always love it.
This was classed as a "newy" when we were doing the rounds of all dayers and nighters. So the comment about "grandads favourite" does make me feel long in the tooth!!✊🏻KTF!
A new US release at the tail end of 1975. We never regarded it as 'Northern' at the time - on the contrary, it was a typical seventies sound ala. Blackpool Mecca, alongside many others from The Phildelphia Ambassadors (the former Arctic group), Crystal Motion, Got-Cha, Intrepids, Blood Hollins, Carolyn Crawford, Leon Collins, Charles Drain, Gail Eason - only a few of which crossed over to the wider 'Northern Scene' (ie. Barnaby Bye, and much later Rick Sheppard) usually via Cleethorpes. Wigan was always way behind the curve.
Northern Soul will live for ever, remember visiting the Broken Wheel at Retford in 69' and the Boat, the Brit and the Union at Nottingham, great days, now 68 yrs old, but still got my levis's and ben sherman's, but the Lambretta went years ago.
