So true we pay enough in taxes over our lifetime apart from paying into a pension plan. Which I don't mind if they are reasonable I like the street light to work and rubbish picked up weekly etc. but they are never reasonable especially in Canada. We're slowly losing everything and I'm still waiting for the straw that breaks the camel's back here in America. Our retirement age is 67 and inflation makes it nearly impossible to survive on the money you have saved. But anytime you mention how things keep getting worse, people just shrug their shoulders like there's nothing we can do about it. Americans need to grow some balls!!!

I sometimes forget that there's more going on in the world than my little area of existence. I do recognize that authoritarian countries elsewhere are getting a lot of pushback.
There are way more people hunting, poor, disenfranchised, and forgotten than there are elites that rule over us.
I just got mine in Canada. I had to wait till I was 65 . I wish I had got kine at 62 . It would have made a big difference. I can't blame these people . We are sheep in Canada.
My father at the age of 71 gets up every morning at 6 am and loads ladders and paint and shit in his truck to go paint houses with a team of 8 guys. Every day.
To be retired at 62. What a joy. When the same government that is now requiring you to work a little longer is the same government that has been providing health care and research etc to keep the citizens healthy well into their eighties.
You only start working at about 20. Then only contribute to the fiscus once you achieve a decent salary. Then you want to stop work at 62 and be looked sfter for the next 20 or 30 years whilst doing nothing.

We have managed to extend the life span of our citizens by 15 years through health care and prosperity.
Now we are having a bit of a downturn. Can you please work another 3 years? That still leaves the average person with 20 years of doing buggerall and getting looked after with free health care. Free transport. Free home visits. Even free care homes. No! We spoilt now!

i kinda agree for the ones pushing pencils on a desk but i can see the logic in having cops and the likes retire earlier since with age you lose fitness and mobility and could risk peoples lives and such. to be fair for those risking their lives for a similar salary as a good mechanic kinda deserve a bonus. kinda similar to those getting extra an hour for working night shifts but instead its payed in the end as a big vacation. just my opinion.

The pension fund has been given away to people who did not pay in though. This is what you get when you vote socialist.
Not really about pension, they enacted that change without any vote. It was just pushed through like an edict.
So true we pay enough in taxes over our lifetime apart from paying into a pension plan. Which I don't mind if they are reasonable I like the street light to work and rubbish picked up weekly etc. but they are never reasonable especially in Canada. But most of all I want to retire before 65 and have a somewhat decent retirement for fiteen years or more with good health and luck.
