Dammit, Spider-Man always gets me. I remember being so angry when it was revealed that they were killing him off in the Ultimate series, to the point I stopped reading for years. I picked the final book up a few years later and dammit, that hit me hard. The creative team did an amazing job with his ending and nowadays, I’m grateful for being able to experience closure for my favorite fictional character
Tell me about it I have never felt so much anger and disappointment for a fictional superhero but was relieved when he came back 😇
The Great Saiyaman seriously it was in my opinion the best way to kill off a character, that and J Jonah Jameson saying how he was the truest of hero’s
"When Steve picks up Mu-Lo-near..."
Swing and a miss, my guy
Kevin Lashlee He beats him up in a style and drawings that resemble the original Secret Empire Captain America comic books in 1974.
I was referring to how he pronounced mjolnir, homie
Kevin Lashlee I meant to put this up as its own comment.
Understood
I wonder if he could pick up Mu-Lo-Far tho
the trouble is....when ever a character dies.....we all know that 99% of the time , they will come back somehow....
But good list anyway.
Good list yes, but I'd have put marvel zombies on here, in that universe not only didn't the heroes come back but many were turned into zombies that pretty much destroyed all life in their universe.
Rick Jones' death in Secret Empire fooled me into thinking that might be permanent: a bleak death, a "property" Marvel probably doesn't care about and a character with no connection to coming-back-from-the-dead powers...at the time!
OH COME ON!!
How could you not mention the most epic moment of the ending to Axis
Spiderman keeping his word and making the Golden Rhinestone encrusted statue of carnage that plays Freebird on loop!!
Geez... speechless now....
..does.. does this really happen lol..?
Strictly in terms of comic art, the single-page mixed-mosaic panel at the end of Secret Wars demonstrates the fundamental conflict between Reed Richards and Victor von Doom so freaking perfectly. Add in Doom's confession that Reed is more deserving of the Beyonder's (really Molecule Man's) power, and it just brings the whole storyline to a head.
Secret Empire: Omega was the one that really brought chills. It was just so dark, the way Hydra Cap just told off the original Steve and just that he never broke any laws. But his actions were evil. And the fact that the original Steve is still having to fight to get his original life back in order after Hydra cap tarnished his name.
scarlet witch ruins everything >:(
scarlet witch fixes everything :)
Scarlet Witch doing her best
Punishes a bad man by depowering people
Saves many by repowering them
Scarlet witch... IS EVERYTHING
@@DrGandW she did more than that, thousands of people died during M-day. Her trying to make up for it is fine, but she didn't just punish Mags.
for the secret empire arc i found it more chilling in the issue where OG cap is talking to hydra cap in prison and hydra cap remarks how technically everything he did in setting up the hydra empire in america was legal and how it was the american legal system that allowed hydra to achieve their goals
Me too. I felt that scene was very impactful
cough the boys cough cough cough cough cough, go watch it
What about the ending of Civil War where Captain America gets assassinated?
Disney will NEVER show this story line tho 😂
the list is great, i love it.
some personal honorable mentions:
2: Killing Joke (edit: just remembered "marvel" in the title)
1: Kraven's Last Hunt
super toaster04 what about Deadpool letting himself get eaten by zombies in order to cure the zombie outbreak in marvel zombies?
@@jakealter5504 i forgot about that! but yes, absolutely.
Kraven's last hunt was a beautiful tale bro. I wish they would at least adapt that into a straight to video animated release.
@@ODGtheToyman1974 A cannibal villain in todays disney marvel?.... That will never happen.
2: Hulk left alone 1: Kraven's Last Hunt. This mini series was the best marvel series EVER!
“Mloniyuh”? Oh. Mjolnir. I see. Good try
I thought Cap was picking up Trump's wife for a sec
@@nicdriver6568 YOOOO LMFAO
I totally heard Melanie. Melanie the Hammer.
Melon-ear.
I guess that's his new "Dark-seed"
Literally cried for a week when I read ultimate Spider-Man the first time
@PP Wieners uh
@PP Wieners So when someone actually shows emotions they're a puppet? O fucking k dude.
So there
You didn’t literally cry for a week
Fucking people and their use of ‘literally’
@@paulk6399 I know right? You shouldn't stand for it man!
Shit! You got the #1 spot accurate this time. Even as i re-read that Spiderman arc it still makes me cry. This is the first comic that brought me to tears. And i was collecting comics around 1993.
Kudos to your work on this list.
Jean Grey dying on the moon
Gwen Stacy dying
Kraven's last hunt
Vindicator's death in Alpha Flight
What about the ending of Civil War where Captain America gets assassinated?
Hickman's secret wars was a great ending to his entire run at Marvel. Everything Lives. While everything dies was the heart of the avengers storyline it was also part of Fantastic Four, Shield, FF, and Secret Warriors. If you start at Dark Reign New Nation and read every comic written by Hickman at Marvel until Secret War number 9 it's all one story.
And its probably the best comic story ever written
I'm not sure it's the best ever, but it's def one of my favorites in recent memory. The only thing close in my eyes was the Annihilation saga
@@shearl6493 I agree, i got really invested in the connectivity of Hickmans run it is very much so on the same level of Annihilation. I just dont know anything that epic in scope of writing in recent memory coming from Marvel since Infinity.
Hickman is unquestionably one of my top 5 favorite comic writers. I read Infinity and Secret Wars as they came out and loved them. A few months ago I read Secret Warriors, FF, Avengers and New Avengers from beginning to end. The way he ties together the threads from all those stories is spectacular.
The saddest marvel comics ending is Stan Lee's death 😭
End of an era. End of the first one above all.
Red Bird fu k you
@@nhoodjazz what I do?
Stan Lee stopped writing comics for Marvel decades before he died.
@@antona.1327 so his death is still sad
Me during 10-2: I don't feel any feels. Me during number 1: *ALL OF THE FEELS!!* 😭😭😭😭
Ultimate Spidey was such an iconic run, and that ending is GUT WRENCHING. If someone doesn't get the feels from that ending, they aren't human lolol
@@shearl6493 I 100% agree with ya
legit.
dialed into my own perceived failures.
way to slap me in the end, WhatCulture
He was a kid he was what like in high school and he saved everyone at the cost of his own life
The Night Gwen Stacy Died would be #1 for me
Agreed...
Kinda surprised it wasn't on the list.
Militant Cyclops is awesome. He went too far in the end, but his persona change was understandable. He was the first X-Man (yes) and has shared Professor X's dream since he was a child. To time and again see the fulfillment of that dream be halted by humans (and other mutants) would certainly cause some people to adopt different tactics. I think since his recent resurrection he's a bit more tame, but I mostly enjoyed that take on the character while it lasted.
Who is this Melonia and what pickup line did Cap use on her?
thors hammer mjolnir
I was trying to figure out when Cap's shield had acquired a nickname....
LOL!
The ending of Old Man Logan is really good.
I remember the "What If" where Korvac defeated the Avengers, and then goes on getting stronger and stronger, until he uses the Ultimate Nullifier to wipe out all of existence rather than accept defeat when challenged by every remaining life form at once.
Dude, you forgot about kraven's last hunt(which is the definitive best comic book ending ever)
The ending to Planet Hulk is by far the most devastating ending I've seen in a Marvel comic. Two years of buildup did its job and made me attached to all of the characters. So it was really harsh to see everything that Hulk went through to earn a peaceful life fall apart.
The end of Spurrier’s X-Men Legacy.
Great call on Lemire’s MK run. Absolutely brilliant comic.
The late 80's inferno saga from the Xmen nuff said!
kungfuhavok2 great story
"Iron-man wasn't seen to be the one to make the sacrifice" *sighs in EndGame*
I'll tell you the greatest ending is when Comics went from $0.75 to a dollar and I stopped collecting
New title idea:

Its the channels decision to put the ads there, blame the channel
Kree/Skrull War. Clint Barton saves the Earth. Rick Jones saves the Galaxy.
Kraven’s Last Hunt
Can you guys stop telling me what gave ME chills!
the saddest part about the hulk being left alone ending was that (spoilers) he actually does allow bruce to die. leaving hulk to be alone without even his alter ego as company, which is why he starts to finally realize the terribleness of being the only one left. there is only hulk
That Ultimate Spiderman one left me uneasy for a while after I finished it.
I remember Benny from Comicstorian covering it
Number 1 on this list. What a heartbreaker. Great vid!
My issue with the Moon Knight issue is that it implies that all mental illness can be defeated and overcome. I think it’s an important message to show that you can get on top of it through therapy/help/medication if necessary, it’s not something you defeat. It’s something you learn to live with everyday. I feel that it just kind of promotes the narrative where mental illness is like any illness that can be cured.
I mean, didn't Moonknight say that THEY were okay with who THEY were, implying that, as roundabout as it was, that all of his alternate personalities were fine, accepting his condition more than "defeating" it? I haven't read the ending, but I'm aware that Moonknight is still dealing with that kinda stuff in newer comics.
Spiderman is purest of heart which is probably why he didn't get inverted
Great list👍🏼
scarlet witch's "no more mutants" super nurf, isn't just 1 reality, it was across the ENTIRE multiverse of marvel comics
Nope
_ý.%_
Funny there’s still mutants -_-
@@Norinia Yeah almost like Dr. Strange protected as many as he could, but that wasn't many.
LupineShadowOmega I didn’t know that, but my comment was about how there are still mutants in several multiverses, so the original comment was blowing it out of proportion.
A nice list for sure but Marvel comics have existed for over 60 years. If I’m not mistaken, ever story on this list happened in the 2000’s+. I’m pretty sure you can find some examples from before then if you thought about it
Yo that spidey death def had me tear thr eff up
I always thought Cyclops killing Xavier was so awkward because the art didn't make it clear to me... It was pretty hard to tell exactly what happened. I thought he was just knocked out or something lol
Not a lick of brought me to tears.
Love me some Superior Spider-Man
kravens last hunt,Gwen Stacy death, death of capt. Marvel
I'm wrapped under my blanket because these stories are giving me chills brrr lol
Doom "killing" himself to take out Reed?
That ending for Spider-Man still haunts me. 😢 like when it was “Aunt May.”
The Death of Spiderman is what made me go back and read all of the Ultimate Spiderman and made the Ultimate version my favorite version of the web slinger.
Ultimate Spider-Man is just phenomenal
When Captain America says "They're not arresting Captain America, they're arresting Steve Rogers". At the end of civil war
I always manage to cry when someone brings up spidey's death and I always will
Steve picked up Melania? What did he grab her by? 🤔🤔🤔
An obscure one. Slaymaster gouged out a pre Psylockes eyes. Her brother Captain Britain defeats him, but after being mocked coldly smashes Slaymasters skull in with a boulder...
Does anyone know the name of the song playing in the background? I wanna add it to my playlist.
You had me till you mention avengers vs xmen's ending
Ending of Annihilation. Best event comic imo
Great List.
So no molecule man returning miles Morales mother from the dead in secret war or Dr doom returning ant man's daughter back to life in axis? C'mon what culture fix your list🤷🤷🤷
Didnt you realize by now they own like 20 comics and only those appear in their lists?
It's on endings, dude

0:43 *WILL THE REAL SLIM SHADY PLEASE STAND UP PLEASE STAND UP PLEASE STAND UP WILL THE REAL SLIM SHADY PLEASE STAND UP PLEASE STAND UP PLEASE STAND UP*
Good list
Just for the record no comic book has ever given me chills. And if it did I need to get a life. Having said that I really enjoy this channel
Kravens Last Hunt
Joshua Ifidi yeah
That last one made me tear up
The death of Spider-man had a stupid glitch in logic. He saw the Punisher aiming a sniper rifles at Captain America and took the bullet. But he could have warned Cap of Punisher and Cap could have deflected the bullet with his sheild.
The first image was the last weird, unearned ending of civil war 2.
That last ending with spidey always makes me tear up ugh 😕
The Killing Joke. Joker stops laughing.
That's DC.
Oh yeah
Binh Nguyen it’s like when Deadpool actually gets serious, you know that horrible things are about to happen to you when that happens
Caged Coco Didn’t read the title...
@@yowhatsmyname it's cool
"Secret Empire" was really, really good.
6:11 Whoa there.
Love this
The Kid Who Collects Spider-Man
That death of spider man comic was gut wrenching
The one that always got me was the final issue of X-Force Vol 1. The new team knows someone will die and for multiple issues your led to believe it will be one of two less popular characters only to have You-Go Girl, the most popular character on the team sacrifice herself. Her death was pretty gut wrenching, particularly after we just got her origin where she was a teen-age mom that ran away from home and her child.
I hated the ending of AvX. Wanda saying "No More Phoenix" is just a poor choice of words that doesn't convey as much meaning or emotion as "No More Mutants".
That whole story was stupid. I blame summers
The story was stupid, but Cyclops was right.
It's good to know in number 3 that Spiderman's is always a good guy
the inverted version of Tony Stark is one of my favourites
I would have also nominated the end of killing joke here somewhere, maybe not that emotional but to me it’s just such a good and mysterious ending
Yeah those are tear jerkers
the whole time this coutdown was going down i was like where is ultimate spiderman!!!!!
This is a list of big event endings in recent years. (+)
😂 bro I know Thor’s hammer isn’t easy to pronounce but haven’t you heard it enough times to say it right by now..
Omg you put so much emphasis and volume into it too
cool vid
I mean what gave me chills was Jean dying on Cyclops' arms telling 'Live, I all do was dying on you'
Death of Spiderman in Ultimate Spiderman had me crying
Let’s get a list of best comic cliffhangers
To clarify. #1 is ultimate Spider-Man. Just for anyone who wants to look for it.
Amazing fantasy #15
Hey Josh you wanna try saying mjolnir again? Lmao
"A once boastful cry, is now a horrific prophecy of damnation. ‘No one can stop the Unstoppable Juggernaut.’ " What If, volume 2, #94. an amazing piece of work, and one of my favorite stories, nevermind one-shots.
I don't know... Did anyone believe Wolverine would be "dead" for long? What I really didn't like was Laura taking up the Wolverine identity. She had done enough by that point to be her own person outside Wolverine's shadow.
The Ultimate spidey one made me bawl when I read it
These comics needed work.
Good list. I'd include
Incredible Hulk (2009-2011) #611 - Bruce/Hulk overcomes scars left by Bruce's dad and embraces Skaar after a brutal beatdown. Gets me every time.
Origin (2001) #6 - After Rose, Logan leaves Smitty behind to be with the pack.
#10 was a powerful ending? How? You mean the ending that showed that it was all a lie. That Spencer lied about Hydra Cap being the "original" Steve Rogers? That was powerful? To who?
#9 Oh yeah. That was a DOPE ending. Love me some Dan Slott penmanship.
#8 Yup. Agreed.
#7... Really? This beats #8 and #9?
#6 is in #6. This should be Top 3 or
Top 5 at least. (+)
This man can't go one video without pronouncing something wrong.
The ending to original sins #5. "when I was a kid I killed a man just to see what it feels like. Haha just kidding I'm frog-man". Chills every damned time.
Anybody get chills from cartoon
Endings
Steve picked up a chick called meliyonaya?!
the secret wars infinity gauntlet isn't just any infinity gauntlet, but one made of stones from multiple different realities
