Since I am a lover of Chanel- and have almost ALL of the Chanel Foundations- I was asked if I would give a rundown of the whole chanel lineup of foundation to help you choose the RIGHT one for you!
I hope this video is helpful. I am sharing my thoughts on each and what kind of finish and skin type it might be best for.
FOR REFERENCE- My skin type is mature, dry, rosacea-prone. My rosacea has cleared up but still have to be careful. I am 51 years old and my issues are hyperpigmentation, keeping rosacea at bay, and general anti-aging.

Just now watching this video. I purchased the Chanel Tinted Moisturizer in May and I love it. I live in Florida and our humidity is very high. Foundation works great. I have the new bronzer and that cute little compact with blush, highlight and concealer. Oh, I got a bar of Chanel No. 5 soap too (so far just to display in the box). I wore Shiseido for years and wanted a change.....
This video could not have come at a better time. I just bought the By Terry "Terrybly Densiliss" anti-ageing foundation. It was way too matte for my dry, mature, and textured skin. I'm going back to my brand, Chanel. It has never disappointed me in the past. Thank you for this amazing review.

Excellent video Abbey! I love all my Chanel foundations, I have the sublimage, Ultra le teint, ultra velvet, Les Beiges, the powder foundation for touch ups and the cc cream. The cc cream is fantastic for everyday casual in the summer months or vacation with excellent spf protection. I also didn’t get on with the IT cc cream, I had a terrible reaction to it but the Chanel cc cream is fine no reaction at all, it’s a beautiful natural look. Chanel is just killing it in the foundation category.
Ok so I had eye on the new Chantecaille water based foundation but then I saw your video and I am so glad I did ! I went into Lord & Taylor to try the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Teint Parfait and I love it!!! It feels like magic on the skin and the 22 Beige Rose was a perfect match!! I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful this make up is! It is worth every penny and I thank you for bringing it to my attention!

The Vitalumiere aqua is my first Chanel foundation and my go-to. I'm just so in love with it (been using it for more than a year now). I have oily/combination skin in the summer and dry skin in the winter and I find that it works great for me all year round. Plus it was the only foundation that worked on my peeling and flaking skin when I was having to use exfoliating products for my breakouts. I really want to try the other Chanel foundations so I'm really happy to see this video. Excited to try the Ultra le Teint Velvet, Ultra le Teint and Les Beiges Healthy Glow foundation currently. I'd also like to try the Chanel CC cream and the Eau De Teint water fresh tint. Interesting that you tend to be 32 in Chanel, I'm a 30 so I have a more neutral undertone compared to your rosy one. But it seems the value range is similar so I'll keep that in mind for future shade-references. Thank you for this great video 💗💗💗

Could you do a video where you show the new foundations to remplace old ones that aren't produced anymore? For example, I LOVE the Chanel cushion Les Beiges Touche de teint belle mine, but I have no idea what to replace it with for the same result (I felt like I didn't have any foundation and it would "hide" my redness and give a very no make up look vibe)

I am a recent Chanel fan. After much trial and error with different foundations, I finally found my #1 foundation in the Chanel Ultra Le Teint Velvet. My second favorite is the Ultra Le Teint Ultrawear, and on days when I am too lazy to do foundation and SPF, I use the CC cream. I also love the Chanel eyeshadows and I own several singles and quads as well as the Les Beiges collection. I have combination skin and find that the Velvet is really skin like for me. I also have rosacea and none of the Chanel products irritate my skin.

Hi Abby...Funny today I'm wearing the Les Beiges eau de tint and yesterday ordered a backup bottle. My skin feels so soft when I wear it. I never knew the caps of the bottles distinguished the glow from a mat foundation...so Chanel to do that. Great video and I think I will try getting a sample of the Vitalumiere Aqua and the Les Beiges Sheer Healthy Glow. They sound right up my ally. Just have to make sure the fragrance doesn't bother me. Your makeup today with that color sweater looked so soft and dreamy.

Good job, girl! Just literally returned from Nordstroms with the Water Fresh Tint. NEVER thought I’d buy it because I prefer more coverage but I put it over the Ultra Le Tint (which I was wearing) and LOVED it. I also have the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation and honestly, it’s fantastic. FYI: I’m 67 with dry skin.

I just got the Le Teint Velvet, I wanted something a little more matte because it seems like all my recent foundations are very dewy. I really like it. It wears really well and I like not having to powder it. I think I’m going to have to try the Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint and the Vitalumiere Aqua!

Thank you, Abby. With that many foundations, how many years does it take to use them all? I just realized I am a foundation junkie too, and so far I have accumulated La Prarie skin caviar, Surratt Dewy Drop, By Terry anti-wrinkle, Cle de Peau Cushion, Dr. Jart+ SPF 40, Sislet le Teint, Chanel Sublimage on top of the Dior Forever Glow and Dior Forever Mate that I have had. I am wondering when I am going to finish using them all..But it would be lovely to have a chance to try ALL of these Chanel's foundations...
I never came across a bad foundation from Chanel so far. Chanel Ultra Le Teint is replacing the beloved Perfection Lumiere which was one of the best foundation that Chanel had. Les Beiges eau de teint isn’t a foundation per se it’s more like a tinted moisturiser, perfect to use under foundation or for retouching the makeup, it’s lovely and gives a natural glow. I’ve been using Les beige healthy glow one for years and I’m very content with it. Sublimate l’essence de teint is absolutely amazing for mature skin, though the price might put people off buying it . Currently using the latest gem No 1 de Chanel fluid foundation, which is very similar to Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. Absolutely chuffed with it.

I just recently got samples of the Aqua foundation and it is amazing. I just turned 60 and have very dry skin. I was using the Chanel CC cream thru the summer, but I don't need that high an SPF during Fall/Winter months.I use an SPF 30 moisturizer anyway. The fragrance doesn't bother me and I am in need of a new foundation and may get the Aqua one. I also have used the moisturizing tint and I liked it but did want more coverage.
Jane- I loved the Aqua for YEARS!! I still do- I just moved on to other foundations but I wore it the other day and it is BACK UP as one of my Fav's ! I think you will like it. xoxo
Abby Bliss White So I picked up the Aqua foundation yesterday. I love the way it feels on my mature skin. I went for #30 Beige which is my perfect Chanel shade.

I love Chanel foundations, although no one talks about them anymore. I’ve never had any issues with the perfume in Chanel foundations, I realised that I have issues only with the so called “clean beauty” foundations with essential oils (especially citrus oils) in it, never with synthetic fragrance.
Honestly, I’m dying to try the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua! I tested it on my hand today at the store and the formula seems so nice on the skin, so smooth! But I’m so scared to spend that much money and end up not liking it. Hmmm 🤔
I love love the eau de teint and the sublimage foundation ! These are my favorites even if I m combinaison ageing skin (1968’ squad).

WOW! Thank you Abby! This tutorial is amazingly helpful! I really appreciate you mentioning not only the SPF factor but the fact they contain a mix of both physical and chemical sunscreens. I prefer foundations with either physical sun protection or none at all and then adding my own. Are you still using the Glo spf? And I was wondering if you ever tried elta MD sunscreen products? You have me excited to try the Sublimage...I just wish alcohol was not the sixth ingredient on the list. I remember Paul Begoun always stressing how negatively alcohol affects the skin even if we don't see or feel the damage. Thank you again for an incredible video. And yes, I wish Chanel at least one foundation with no fragrance, alcohol and no SPF. That would be AMAZING!! Loved the reviews-what do you recommend for a full coverage foundation-yet youthful foundation-I have similar skin to yours.
Boomer- That is a good question! I find that most full coverage foundations are not the most youthful but do think the Chanel Ultra Teint - is a nice happy medium. That one gives you the coverage but is also not aging. The other one that comes to mind is the Cle de Peau - Radiant Cream Foundation. go.magik.ly/ml/rivl/ That one is full coverage but also radiant. Hello Donna!! Okay- I would go with the Water Fresh Tint and then Aqua if you want more dewy or the velvet if you want more of satin matte. I am leaning towards Water Fresh or Aqua.... what do you think??

This is a great tutorial! I’ve been using lift lumiere in 40 beige since the past 4 years but since it’s discontinued, what do you advice should I use instead n in what shade?

I use LaMer, diluted with whatever benefit+SPF cream that my skin needs. But I don’t get results I like. If I layer SPF, then foundations, I get that weird curdling & foundation collecting in pores or crevices

Abby Good info. If you had to pick one for dry mature skin for everyday foundation which would you pick?
Kathy P-- I would take a peek at the CC Cream to see if your skin likes it- it is a great day to day choice. Second pick would be the Water Fresh Tint if you don't need a lot of coverage and next would be the Vitalumiere Aqua! Did this help or confuse??
Hi Abbey, can you use the Chanel les beiges water fresh tint as a base (primer), then use my Cle de peau radiant matte foundation on top, you are such a fantastic lady, lovely relaxing and soothing voice, I could listen to you all day. Fab tutorial. thank you. (Gillian 1968 gang UK)
For dry mature skin needed medium to full coverage due to sun spots , I am considering CPB Cream foundation and Chanel No.1 , foundation , which will you recommend ? I am yellow with light olive skin undertone , all the foundation has a letter ( B , O BF , I ....) what are they mean ??

I have many Chanel makeup items but no foundations. I don’t know why I have never been interested but the sublimage foundation sounds interesting for anti-aging. Your eye makeup looks very pretty. Is that the new Chanel quad shadow?

Unfortunately, Vitalumiere Aqua looks dreadful on me in daylight. There is this weird shimmer which is very aging. Sorry it did not work for me.
Oh bummer!!! I am so sorry that one did not work for you. I used that formuation for many years but admittedly - I was also younger. I hope you were able to take it back. I need to pull it out and try it again now- I don't remember it having shimmer but it may - blurring pigments- and I have also found that there are so many NEW formulations out that that keep getting better and better. Tricky - finding the perfect one. xoxo

Hi is the ultra le teint the same as le teint ultra? Here in the netherlands Thére is only le teint ultra in the same bottle .

Abby Bliss White ok thank You I am wearing vitalumiere aqua in voor 32 for years now but want to try another one. I have dry, sensitive skin and am 52 . I want light to medium coverage and saw one of your video’s were You put on leau de Chanel and the ultra as a kind of coverage. I am doubting beteren this combination and the sublimage

@@janinehermens7424 so- if you already have the Eau de Teint and Le Teint then that is a great combo! But if you are looking for something new the Sublimage Teint is so hydrating and comfortable on the skin AND it has skincare benefits and surprisingly nice coverage. It is more of a BB cream but it just works well on the skin and evens it out. A Chanel artist put the Eau de Teint and the Ultra Teint combo on my skin and I did like it because you can build up the coverage but for days when my skin is pretty good- I love to go for the Sublimage because it makes me feel like I am actually doing something GOOD for my skin. Does that make sense? Let me know your thoughts. xoxo

So you would say the shade 32 is the same shade in both the ultra velvet and the aqua? I have a sample of the 32 in the aqua and it’s a great match. I only have the 30 in the velvet and it’s a good match but I was thinking the 32 might be even better if you say they are the same. I love your reviews.
