NERF's foam dart and ball launchers are their claim to fame and have a huge following. Gel Blasters that shoot water bead-like gel balls fill a gap between NERF and airsoft. Both have their pros and cons, but the main advantage of gel blasters is that you can shoot 1000's or rounds of ammo, and there's no cleanup afterward.

NERF Gelfire Mythic proves to be a very nicely built and well-designed blaster, but it lacks in power and therefore range. It is best suited for CQB (close-quarters battle) where stealth and strategy is more important than range. It feels much more solid, better quality and feature-rich than competitors of the same size and style. But it also costs as much or more than much stronger rifle blasters like Splatrball SRB400 and SRB1200 or UNLOCX pistols.

Absolutely genius shooting at the glass! Ive never seen anyone do this and it’s so simple and effective. You can clearly see the shot grouping and arc needed at different ranges. Well deserved Sub and like!
Put some painters tape on the window in a box formation so we can see grouping and wolf-man Jack over there has something to aim at!
Working on a better way to show the hits. Going to try a hanging sheet with a target painted on it, then you can see where it hits, like shooting at water.
Also on the “hydro strike “ I’m tryna get a longer”barel any tips and advice ???
I have yet to measure the OD of the barrel, but I know that both Splatrball's used an undersized OD from the standard barrels, so that could be an issue.
I wonder if they can handle a stronger spring and 3s lipo rates.
I noticed that Gel Blaster used a stronger spring in their recent SURGE models to get the FPS up to ~170 FPS. I will try that spring on the NERF.
Writing stuff up on this for Blasterhub. Averaging around 132fps here, and it's definitely an M1911 style gearbox inside. Not sure it's worth the $80 asking price.
Nice work on Blasterhub! Well, that's a little disappointing, hoping it would be something heavier duty than the M1911 gearbox, but expected that the gears would be the same since those gears are basically standard amongst pistol size blasters. Surprised your only getting 132fps avg. Yes, there many stronger, more accurate blasters in this price range. $80 puts it into rifle 200+FPS territory. UNLOCX V1/V2 pistol blasters shoot hard and accurate for only ~$50.
@@engineerable mines only averaging 130s as well highest I've seen is 145fps so far
@@taylorrichter1320 That's pretty bad. We've used ours with young kids and was perfect strength. I got hit by it in the tip of the nose from the side and that's the first gel blaster hit that made me tear up. Doesn't take much FPS to hurt when it hits you in the sniffer. 👃🔫
@@engineerable yeah I only paid 44 for it tho so I can't complain plus I got a ton of others my daugters starfire xl on the other hand is consistently over 250fps lots of 260s and even seen as high as 290 it's a slapper
@@engineerable from all the vids I've seen tho 130-140 seems to be average I think you got lucky with yours doing 150s-160s
I been wanting to buy a blaster just to have fun with but I was something powerful what do you recommend?
Get a splatrball gun the 70$ one at Walmart it is the strongest non custom super expensive gun on the market right now I 100% would recommend it
Splatrball has a lot of issues. Their metal tappet bends or breaks easily and then you get feeding issues. I prefer the UNLOCX V1/V2 blasters. Strong and accurate. amzn.to/3BgcWuB
Get urself an unlocx gel blaster they have a rifle or a pistol
Can you plz do a tutorial and how to install a tracer mode on a lighting blaster plz
Working on it. Will be easy since I'll use those annoying LED lights already wired up 😁
Whats the best gel blaster u recommend thats hurts like hell but build quality is good?
What's your budget?
Ill pay whatever its just hard seeing all these guns on amazon and internet etc i bought one from amazon and its decent but i know theres ones that hit harder and the build quality are better.
Thanks for the reply!
@@juanyanez755 unfortunately your going to have to step up to a replica blaster, like a CYMA M4 Gel Blaster or JM M4A1 akgelblaster.com/products/cyma-m4-gel-blaster-gun-gel-gun-usa-pr
@@engineerable sweet yes that sounds badass thanks man! Ill get that one
Consistent with the uploads I like it,also my srb400-sub gears are stripped and it doesn’t have the hole in the bottom of the grip what do I do
First take it apart and see if there's an adjustment screw in the bottom of the gearbox (at rear of motor). If not, your gonna need to replace gears ruclips.net/video/qQKaKdEUPCs/видео.html
1k BRO THAT TURNED INTO A REAL GUN
Bro can you get the hydro strike mod vid conning please I’m really tryna mod it for the longest
Working on it, amongst other mods. Lots of mods to do!
I got mine like 3 days ago from best buy, and the thing is the gel only goes like 5ft away from me, is mine broken or something?
If you have hard water, your gels are probably undergrown. Use distilled water and wait at least 4 hours.
@@engineerable what is hard water? I used tap water 😀, I think I’ve grown it like less than 3hours, maybe that’s it? Thanks for the reply btw.
@@Gerard1321 most tap water is "hard" it basically means there are calcium and other mineral deposits in your water. if your faucets and shower heads get that crusty crud buildup over time then youve got hard water.
Are you straining your gels enough? That chrono was getting awfully wet
So this is a good point that I think is the root cause of a lot of issues that people have with blasters, gels that are too wet. I put soaked gels into a strainer, shake a few times to release trapped water and leave the strainer drain open while they are being used. I know that the pros go through the extra step of towel drying them, but definitely not going there, and I want to simulate general use. I think I strain them as well or better than most people will. For this test I was using the GelBlaster Gellet Depot, which has a continuously open drain during use.
I've also noticed that hopper style blasters are especially susceptible to blow out water, because all the excess water drains straight down into the barrel. Electric mag blasters continue to self drain excessively wet gels.
Am I the only
One who thought after 20ft the shooting pattern was exactly the same as a vandel in valorant 👁️👄👁️
Its basically the worse version of the surge also can you unbox the surge xl
Just got my Surge XL, and will be unboxing and testing it. The NERF performs like the original SURGE. The NERF does seem built to last though, and has replaceable battery.
'i got this on sale for 60 i wanted this but didnt want to pay 80 i like the body alot but i didnt like the price but thank god i got it for 60
Awesome, have a blast!
Ferry
I furry that comment
Fuffy
Bruh, mine only shoots like 3 feet 💀
Your gels aren't grown large enough.
Oh dang
@@engineerable
Overpriced and disappointing fps!!!paying for the name brand=JUNK
There is a lot more quality and better priced gel blasters on the market DONT BUY THIS EPIC FAILURE BY NERF!!!! Coming from a gel blaster enthusiast I’m just being honest
It should be priced more like the GelBlaster SURGE ($50-60), because that's about how well it performs, although the newer SURGE has even higher fps ~170. Advantage the NERF has is the replaceable battery, heavier duty body, and sliding stock (if you care about having a stock).
@@engineerable agree,,,, I say pay a few bucks more and get a Hydro Strike Pulsar Pro from Walmart!!! That’s my favorite big store blaster available it even beats out the SRB1200(Splatrball) imo 😎👍
bro a furry ???
Lol cant be sure but might
