Ditto. I can’t wait for pretty much all the sequels you mentioned. Especially for Kristoff’s EOTV series and Cahill’s Bound and the Broken. I’m still playing catch up with Brown and am almost finished with Dark Age right now. I also can’t wait for the sequels to Correia’s Forgotten Warrior saga and for Edge’s Bladeborn saga. Also there’s Abercrombie’s new book coming as well. Going to be a hectic time for reading next year and I’m all for it!
That would be my exact same list, down to the honorable mentions. With Red God being #1, I just know Pierce Brown will find a way to crush my soul again and I will thank him for it.
I’m so excited for the end of Sun Eater and some more Gabriel De Leon! I’m currently a 5th of the way into Wind and Truth, then I have to read Wrath, then I was planning to continue Red Rising with Iron Gold. This video was super relevant 😂 That Ryan Cahill series has been on my list for a while so that might be after.
As for “The Empire of the Vampire” I started reading that masterpiece …and oh my this is just mind-blowing:the characters, the setting, the story lines, the language!!! This is like the most savoury fantasy stew up to its gusto and bittersweet taste such wanted and needed for me in grim dark fantasy! After Martin having finished “A Dance of Dragons” and is not actually up to be done with “Winds of Winter” (and that might be harsh reality as if winds of truth blowing into our faces),just a few writers hold up to my expectations of dense and intricate writing like Abercrombie or Morgan though many do try but not to that level I can say Jay Kristoff is a most waited newbie with his vampires and the story! Wanna taste every moment of that reading up to the end and plunge into the forthcoming sequels of cold-blooded yet so exquisite narrative! Thanks once again for the videos and the recommendation! ❤️
My most anticipated new release is Judge of Worlds, i.e. the final book of the Kithamar trilogy by Daniel Abraham. Good to hear that the third book of the Empire of the Vampire is coming out. I read the first part last month, and it was really good - just as you said - and I will read the second one in January or February. So, it would be perfect timing if the third one would be published some time next year.
@@SpacedOutReads Forgot, by the way, one book I am really anticipating - The Book That Held Her Heart, i.e. the third book of the library trilogy by Marc Lawrence.
@@SpacedOutReads Oh do! Having finished two of his trilogies - Prince of Thorns, excellent, and Red Queen's War, middling - I think the library trilogy could be his clearly best one so far.
I cant wait for book 7 of sun eater. Regardless of my feelings on book 6, I MUST know how it all comes together and what happens after. I'm sure ill be pining for Empire of the Vampire book 3 once i read book 1-2 in January/February. Pumped. So i listened to The Name of the Wind earlier this year as one of my first audiobooks. I listened to it in about 3 days. I think it's completely over hyped. My buddies said it was one of the best books they've ever read, for me, it lays at the literal bottom of my list of worst book I've read, with lies of locke Lamora not far behind. 🤷♂️. I hated Kvothe and his entire "journey". I'll be curiois to see how you feel about it.
@@Dugrath Yes, Sun Eater 7 will be quite intresting! I am definitely in the edge of whether I’ll get back to Name of the Wind or not, though I am surprised to hear you didn’t like Locke Lamora (though I haven’t read that one yet)
@SpacedOutReads definitely! I won't swade you lol, if you read it, I hope you enjoy it. Cause I was mad about how much I hated it. Glad I didn't physical read it otherwise I would have felt like I lost a lot of time I wouldn't get back. 😅 Yeah Lies started off rocky and felt ok...then during a bookclub meet up we were discussing what the ending might be like and how it could completely change our views on the book. So instead they did something completely different and worse (actually just completely lazy and boring for a plot reveal) and we lost all faith in the rest of the book. Unanimously we all hated it. My buddies ending was significantly better than the actual book's ending. 🤣
I can't wait to get my hands on Strength of the Few. Awright awright awright, I'll finally start EoTV, lol. You're to blame for this, I feel like it's rare to watch a video without you hyping it 😂 I saw he finished the final book anyway, so I guess this week's as good a time as any.
Interested to see what you think of name of the wind if you do continue. It certainly has its flaws, but if you can get through it, definitely a big pay off at the end
Yeah, Kvothe is definitely up himself. I enjoy figuring out how much of an unreliable narrator he is but there's definitely some wishfulfilment going on.
@@SpacedOutReads oh thanks mate, much appreciated. I really liked Name of the Wind. Beautiful prose, cosy vibes but Rothfuss (imo) can't write women very well. Slow Regard of Silent Things is lovely and haven't read beyond that yet. I read those just before my horrendous reading slump last year but maybe next year I'll read them again and continue.
@ Readijg has been very slow this month, I’ve been busy and not in the reading zone. But I’m almost finished Until the Last (The Last War) on audio, so now I’ll be able to fully dive into Dragonborn Chair which has been fun. Hobb seriously doesn’t miss! Glad to hear Fates hitting well
